I've received better quality of goods and services from other retailers and saved far more dough in the process. They sell second hand goods just like Ebay via multiple sources and the quality is always a crapshoot. At this point, rewarding them is just plain stupid. I predict Amazon and Walmart will suffer in the years ahead. Eventually these beasts perish under the weight of their bloated size and indifference towards the consumer. You like 'em? You can keep 'em. I think they suck. :johnwoo2: AMAZON :yack:

The complaints outnumber the compliments where? Here? Amazon certainly has its problems, but I'd wager that the successful orders far outweigh the unsuccessful ones. I order nearly always from Amazon directly and rarely have problems.

Any issue I've ever had with Amazon has been corrected quickly and fairly.

Same here.

Don't forget the fact that they've been incapable of fulfilling pre-ordered for many blu-rays on time this year. Banshee season 4 and Hell on Wheels final season were excessively delayed in being shipped. I've heard of others too.

I've had Banshee in my shopping cart since the pre-order days, and to my knowledge they've NEVER had stock, which sounds like a serious supplier problem rather than a failed pre-order.

I must be OLD; I see no purpose in "digital copies". If I really needed one for some odd reason; I can rip the dvd to whatever format I choose......... My eyes are not good enough to watch a film on a 2" phone.

Yeah, digital copy used to mean a file stored on your computer, but now it means adding it to a digital account like VUDU, which I find very convenient. Some are even viewable in 4K.

The only real problem I have had with Amazon, aside from a broken item here or there, is their refusal to stop having USPS take part in the delivery of some of their items. I had 3 straight items delayed a day that were supposed to be delivered by USPS by the Prime delivery date. It got me 3 free months of Prime but it also was very irritating.

Those added months on Prime come in handy some times. My subscription originally renewed in November. Last time I paid it was January 2016. Now it doesn't renew until March 2017. Finally well outside my holiday shopping months.

I will not disagree with you there. You just wonder when Amazon will cut their losses with USPS, as their inability to deliver on time must be costing Amazon more than it saves them.

Hmmm... from what you guys are saying maybe I should stop getting digital credits a while and try for some late shipments. A extra month or three of Prime would be better... especially when you consider I've only watched 6 or 7 of the 60+ movies I've gotten "free" with those credits. :D

Since Amazon steadfastly refuses to offer me digital credits, instead only offering useless Pantry credits, I just use full speed shipping.

I'd rather have the Pantry credits, but I hate slow shipping and that option never comes up anyway.

It's been reported in this thread that accepting Pantry credit one time will get you back on the digital train. I know it switched back for me, and it might have been after I accepted the Pantry credit (which I never used).

I'll also confirm that if you take the pantry credit one time, on your next order they will start offering the digital credits again.

My experience on slow shipping credit variety is spotty. I made about 30 orders this week, all with a credit, about 50/50, sometimes the same type 5+ times in a row.

How do you get the free month for late Prime shipments? Whenever I have inquired about a late package they never offer me squat. Do you just have to act more outraged than I do?

I straight up ask for now after plainly explaining the late Prime delivery.

It may help to use a few of those credits *and* make a PP purchase or two outside of those credits. After being given PP credits several times in a row I finally caved and stacked some with several of the "Buy 5 for free shipping" items selecting only inexpensive snack items. I now place 1 or 2 such orders per month without the credit but *only* ordering 5 "free ship" items. Every order is $15 or less and gets free shipping based on included items. Since doing that I've only received digital credits. I'm thinking that since I "actively" take advantage of PP they're no longer trying to lure me in with those PP credits. Of course, now that i've spilled the beans I'll likely get a rash of PP credits...

It's in their policy that missing a "guaranteed" delivery date means that you should get a 1 month extension on your Prime membership. Those are the terms of the "guarantee", but you have to call them on it if you want it.

If you received free shipping through Amazon Prime, you may be eligible for a free one-month extension when the promised delivery date isn't met. Prime Extensions are limited to one per free trial and 12 for an annual membership. Free Amazon Student Memberships do not qualify for this extension
