Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I got really tired of the threadcrapping in the previous thread, so here's a new one. For those of you who were posting actual Amazon sale prices in that thread, my thanks.

Some of these have been suggested by numerous people over the last five threads. I list the earliest post of which I became aware. The ones I find most useful:

A Google search will come up with a number of other sites that also specialize in tracking Amazon prices. An advantage of camelcamelcamel, and other such sites, is that you can look up the price history for things other than DVDs/BDs, for example, a Blu-ray Disc player, CD, book, and so forth. That should be enough resources to get people started. Newcomers, please don't be reticent about posting good Amazon deals that you happen across. Better a deal gets posted twice than not at all. |

Could anyone give me a little more info on the Essential Eastwood set? I have all four of the films on DVD, but would upgrade to save shelf space if they really do come in one case and keep most/all of the extras.

BSG Amazon has a couple of seasons at that price also. I believe the only thing left from the series would be The Plan which can be had for under $10. I would also keep an eye out on Amazon UK. They just had the series set as part of their lightning deals this past week. |

Monster House 3D - $16.99 (ties previous low) Brazil - $20.99 Fantastic price on the Brazil pre-order - with a $8 off coupon during the next presumed B & N sale, it would be $17 plus tax, but that's major YMMV and at least six months away. |

I was unable to find any info on extras. The box does say "Hours of insightful extras on all titles!" I would guess that the discs are the same as the regular BD releases—including extras—just packaged in one box. |

Knocked two more Criterions off the wish list by ordering 3 Women and Stagecoach for $17.99 each. This last day or so has been good for some deals on older catalog titles. I've been hoping for more of those.
Then went to B&N.com to use the 30% coupon before it expires, since I didn't get to a store this week to add to my Criterion purchases. Got Battle of Algiers for $17.49. Good stuff. |

Dunno if this was mentioned in the other thread, but Modern Family S3 is 19.99, matching BB. My BB was sold out, so was glad to see this...

A three pack is available at Amazon UK for 16.75 pounds. Includes MONSTER HOUSE and OPEN SEASON 3D blu-rays... I tried to order it but it got sent back (!) along with 6 other titles. |

Non 3D version was $8 something at WM. I picked that up since the 3D version has had some mediocre reviews apparently.

Blu-ray.com gives the 3D a 3.5/5. Says picture is good but not spectacular. I'm on the fence whether or not to pick this up. But since nearly every other 3D Blu I've bought has been sub $20, I think I'll pass.

In case this hasn't popped up yet, the first 45 Poirot adventures, Agatha Christie's Poirot: The Early Cases [Blu-ray] (1989), are only $85; 13 disks. That includes the first batches of movie-length shows and all the short shows. I'd be all over this if I hadn't bought four of the first five sets that came out earlier this year. The Blu Rays are a significant upgrade over the badly transferred old DVD issues of a decade ago.
