Dang, nice find but does this have the theatrical cut (sounds odd, I know) which is 125 minutes versus the alternate which has 108 minutes.

DOTD, Breaking Bad set for $49.99.
Not sure if I want it now. It is the lowest price ever from what camel camel camel shows me. Have you ever seen the show before? Are you worried that $50 for a blind buy is too expensive for you? I doubt it goes any lower in the foreseeable future. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I chatted with an Amazon rep regarding my issue ordering the Fringe set from the app. The first one said I needed to provide them with the URL for the page where I was seeing the item for that price (mind you, it was on the APP). The second could not locate the item on the site at all, and the third was kind enough to force-add it to my cart. For $47. Congrats to those of you that got in on the deal. Hope it was just people that may actually watch and enjoy the sale that got in and not too many re-sellers.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
While I now have only the remnants of an internet business; even in our glory days Our best year I grossed $170k), there is no way I would have paid $47 on Amazon for something that is selling at this instant on Amazon for $55. I don't think you have to worry about resellers.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I enjoyed Breaking Bad - it was a fantastic show but isn't it on Netflix? I wouldn't even pay $40 for the entire series let alone $50. It just doesn't have that much rewatchability for me.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
It does for me, that's why I bought this set. I also wanted those exclusive extras as well. But yes, Netflix does have this, and in 4K.

If I have it there... dunno if I actually want it now. |

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Some shows look better when you have a hard copy and want the highest quality possible presentation, and other shows it doesn't matter if there is some compression here and there. Breaking Bad was like the latter (at least for me) even though I have the entire series already.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I ended up passing on Breaking Bad more or less because of shopping-cart apathy. I'll catch up with it someday.
Still no shipping date for Fringe for me. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I'm just VERY picky about what TV sets I get. Like... I want the Twilight Zone at some point... cuz... it's the goddamn twilight Zone. Variety out the ass w/ that one.
I may get the X Files at some point...but I'm watching it all on Netflix for the first time. I only saw bits and pieces of it growing up. Though I did like the first movie, never saw the second. The only TV sets I have is Mad Men, Serenity, Band of Brothers, Cowboy Bebop, and... that's it. Breaking Bad I saw all of it at the end of 2015 and the beginning of this year. Binged the fuck out of that. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I bought the barrel set for $100 buck new awhile back and still haven't cracked it. I think I was still under the BB spell since I had just recently finished watching the show. But now I have such a backlog of stuff to watch, I don't know if I will ever rewatch it. And the damn thing is so big and heavy that it costs to much to ship to someone and no one would want to pay that cost either.
It is my most recent impulse regret. I still love the show though. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
wasn't the barrel fetching around like $500.00 at one point.
As for me, I still haven't gotten into Breaking Bad. :( Only watched the pilot but never went any further (someday, I will). |

Nah. I was referring to those that were able to get the Fringe Complete Series Bluray for $21. Customer service offered it to me for $47 when I complained that I was having an issues adding it to my cart from the app.

^^ Sweet, thanks for posting that, easy peasy.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I use to buy TV sets of my favorite tv series, but I realize I don't really watch these again. I am more inclined to rewatch movies that I like instead of tv seasons. So I've changed my tack to buying only those good tv seasons that I haven't watched or actually missed multiple episodes, so it gets more value and chance of watching these. Such was the case for Person of Interest season 4, when for some unknown reason my dvr did not record the 2015 episodes. So got this and will binge watch them soon. Now waiting for a price drop on outlander. Seems like a worthwhile series to watch too.

It looks like the $1 credit for no rush shipping is back
I still have $28 in my account :). I wish there was a way of telling when they expire. |

I still have $28 in my account :). I wish there was a way of telling when they expire. Meh... I used these mostly for Kindle books but felt like I always lost some. I never tracked expiration dates because, as you indicate, it is so difficult. I was recently told they are only good on books by "Amazon digital services". Can you guess? Yup. Nearly every book I thought looked interesting in the last three weeks was NOT sold by Amazon digital services. Imagine that. If you stream a lot or buy digital music, good deal. Not so hot for digital books. These days I prefer to make them deliver on their two day shipping promise. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I love that credit since I like buying Kindle books.
|
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I use my credit for mp3 albums mostly. Since the agency agreement ban by the DoJ is over, the publishers have taken back the pricing, so most books are no longer sold by Amazon.
|
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Thanks for the headsup on the Video/MP3 credit. I used it to rent the new Transporter movie. I wanted to see it, but didn't want to pay for it. This definitely helped. ;)
