That's a phenomenal offer and just what media junkies need. Amazon still thinks I need groceries :-(

Be WARNED: I've had orders that I DIDN'T select No Rush on that were in stock when ordered get pushed back over a month with standard shipping. This has happened several times this year; it usualy took several phone calls & several weeks to resolve.

I have never seen this offer. Of course living in HI & even though I am a Prime Member. When I order something it's the standard " 3-7 business days FREE Standard Shipping."

Heck I ordered The Wire blu-ray box set last night I this morning I already get a 2nd day air shipping notification.

That's cool... now if they'd just offer it to me. I'm still getting the $1 digital credit. Oh well... at least it's not Prime pantry credits! :D

Just something to keep in mind, OldBoy keeps Amazon open with his blu ray purchases, so he might get offers that we don't

;)

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I just tried to see if I would receive Oldboy's offer...nope, still only getting prime now $5 credit and now an offer to pick up the blu ray from Amazon's downtown San Jose location. I had no idea Amazon was now offering in-person pick-ups but having lived in San Jose for around 6 years I would still have them deliver, traffic and street parking in Downtown San Jose blows.

Of course, I did not complete my order...hoping even some of the catalog titles in my cart (like Space Camp and The Hidden) go on sale next week.

Edited to add: I just realized the Downtown San Jose location is probably their Santana Row store, but still, at this time of year parking there is extra scary and time consuming...by the time I find a spot and walk to the store I could have waited a few more hours and the blu would probably be waiting for me in front of my apt. door.

Even if pickup were offered in my town (it's not) I'd not use it unless there was some excellent perk involved or the pickup point was on the way to/from work (unlikely as I live ~1 mile from my office and neither are close to "high traffic" areas where such a site would likely be located).

I only use WM store pickup if there's a good enough "rebate" involved and then plan the pickup for days I'm within .5 mile of one of the stores. The last time I used a store pickup I gave them a less than favorable feedback and the manager called to ask what they could do to improve the service. I told her exactly what I'd already put on the online form and really wanted to ask her if she could read as i was pretty specific.

And... still getting the $1 digital credits. At least I can still find stuff to "purchase" with them.

It’s funny. With some blurays I got that offer or release day shipping only. No inbetween. I don’t care about release day ship, but I got some so I guess that’s good enough. Maybe more in future...

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Supposedly the order has to be a minimum of $10 as well to even have the chance of it popping up.

I'm getting this one:

I hope Amazon keeps price matching Best Buy. So far I picked up Split and Get Out for $4.99 each and $2 digital slow shipping credits.

Was going to order Get Out from BB but they are Sold Out. Checked Amazon & price is now $9. Decided to get Split which is still $4.99 but when I went to check out they want $8.99 shipping. Just realize that my Prime expired today. Back to BB I go to buy Split with free shipping,

I picked up The Great Wall, because what the hell. Actually, $3.58 using some Amazon points. Unfortunately, only got the digital credit :(

Planet Earth II is $29.99 right now, matching Best Buy's Black Friday price.

I went ahead and bought the Oblivion 4K UHD that's currently discounted for $9.99 at Amazon. That's a pretty decent deal for 4K.

The 1st time I've purchased the movie. I haven't seen it since it was in theaters 4 years ago.

Decent price drop on the Alien 6-Film set to $39.99, although it will surely go lower eventually:

Oblivion arrived today and boy the slip cover has seen better days. The back was partially torn and crushed. But, the case was in perfect condition along with the disc, so I'm good. Plus, I got it for free anyways using my Amazon CC rewards points. I'm not some OCD slip cover nut who would probably return it.

Just threw the mangled slip cover in the trash.
