The normal lighting link seems to have been replaced with a totally different Cyber Monday page. Any idea how to get to a list of the upcoming "deals"?

If you scroll down on this page they're down there:

You can change the category once you get there, but I can't link to it.

This one's a bit easier - you have to scroll it but it shows some of the upcoming deals:

Anyone else underwhelmed by Amazon this Black Friday?

Based on the amount I bought, not at all.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Yes.

Once again, my $$ went mostly elsewhere. This year's $$ went to BB, Target and B&N for media, BB and Gamestop for gaming stuff, and some toys from WM. I purchased a few toy and board game gifts from Amazon simply because the stores here have a horrible and limited selection. They got ~20% of my spending mostly from purchasing price matched media titles that were either unavailable or sold out online at other vendors. WM would have received more of my $$ had they matched Amazon, BB, and Target with their free shipping on any order offers and made more of the DVD/BR titles available online. I won't fight crowds for "cheap" DVD/BR titles. I purchase from the comfort of my chair. If a store doesn't make it available online then I don't need it.

Like most of the last 2-3 years Amazon is falling behind -- I'm up to one so far this year which is even less than usual. OTOH, I guess you can't really qualify as disappointed since this is exactly what I expected again

I haven't seen a single deal year that didn't come directly from someone else or that was higher price than previous deal .

There all easily outdistance Amazon in purchase
Best Buy
BN
Target
Walmart
Big Lots
Bullmoose
Deep Discount
JBHifi
Ebay
Actually I should add Zavvi, but I didn't actually buy the several good deals they had

I haven't even found a good deal at the International Amazons

I bought one thing from Amazon this year, Tag on blu ray since it was sold out at Best Buy. Everything else I bought was from Best Buy and Target.

Oh yeah, for the last few years in fact. Most of my money went to Best Buy. IMO they do it right, posting what will be available when and for what price.

Amazon’s Black Friday deals aren’t particularly impressive and they’re difficult to find and keep track of, too.

It’s like they really don’t want to have a BF sale, but know the optics would be bad if they didn’t, so they promote a sale that is about as difficult to follow as possible.

Yes, most of the titles I wanted didn't go down in price at Amazon or anywhere else. It has been disappointing.

Amazon pretty much threw in the towel on Black Friday deals when it comes to DVDs/Blu-rays three years ago, and they never really got into the 4K game, aside from price matching Best Buy. I hate to say this, but Best Buy by far had the best deals this year for movie lovers/collectors.

50-50 for me. Bought six movies. half from Best Buy and the other half from Amazon. Although, I could have easily gotten two from Amazon elsewhere since shortages weren't a problem this year.

Amazon has The Shallows 4k for $9.99 right now. New low according to 3Camel.

love the flick. Can anyone that has it comment on whether the 4K is a significant upgrade over the already excellent blu ? Thanks

Yeah, Best Buy by far had the best sales on media this Black Friday if you ask me. Neither Target or Walmart impressed me much with their selection or prices. A lot of the same titles they have year in and out and so-so prices. Amazon price matched but didn’t have many of their own great deals. I still wound up giving Amazon my business just because I don’t have a Best Buy locally and because I have Prime.

The reviewers at High Def Digest and AV Forums really seemed to like it.

Thanks. Bit on this and 'Evil Dead'. Slowly, the $s start to drain from the pocket.

The only blu I bought from Amazon was The Mummy Legacy @ $14.49. The upcoming lightning deals seem to have been hidden on Saturday; I still can't find upcoming, even with the links that were kindly shared in this thread. I thought about Dracula, but $15 + tax was too high for 2 films I have on dvd (I have the rest on other blu boxes).

Rambo First Blood Part II 4K UHD is down to $9.99

Close enough to the $7.99 it was previously on sale for at Best Buy and briefly matched here.

Blockers and Molly's Game are $4 on Amazon right now.
