Geez, between Lucy for $8 and Under the Skin for $9.99, that's a whole lotta Scarlett. (...and I just bought both!)

Matching Target's price this week. The difference is Target has a buy one, get one 50% off promotion this week. Obviously, it's only helpful if you have a Target store nearby, you want multiple titles and you can find what you want in stock. :) But perhaps it's of interest to someone.

Marilyn Monroe Classic 9-Film Collection $29.99 (Gold Box DOTD)

http://www.amazon.com/Marilyn-Monroe...roe+collection

You have to buy from Amazon to get the deal, it's listed as out of stock but shipping in 10-13 days.

That's how I felt...Yeah, that's a great deal. Yeah, they're going to sit in your collection with all the other unopened "deals" you got over the years but never have time to view. :(

Excellent price. I paid $39 for it in the GB last year, and this year I actually watched three of the movies!

...on Prime streaming because my computer was more convenient than my TV.

Looks like I'll be returning my Forever Marilyn set that I bought for $25 two years ago to Costco. Lucky I didn't open it yet and Costco's return policy is the greatest.

It's a mixed batch of transfers in that Marilyn set. Bus Stop looks pretty bad and Niagara looks incredible, for two examples.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Yeah I refuse to buy more discs (new BTTF collection, Ghostbusters, this) because I have hundreds of unwatched sets (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Aliens, etc.) that would take me years to watch at 2 hours a day and I pay for Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and Showtime (and use that a lot more than the discs). I figured I pay about $50 a month in streaming (including Amazon but that's mostly for Prime shipping). Making it through GOT now. No cable at all here.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I'm right there with you on the unwatched sets. What I'm trying to understand is how you only pay $50 for Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, HBO and Showtime.

I can't speak for the previous poster...but I stream a lot, so here is mine:

And to keep this on topic, Amazon Prime is ridiculously worth it :).

Amazon Prime $8.25 (monthly)
Hulu $7.99 (monthly)
HBO GO (part of my cable/internet package)
StreamPix/Xfinity (part of my cable/internet package)

Hulu is used the most for me personally, and then the other three are tied.

Now if I wanted Netflix, it would be another $8, and Showtime is another $9 on my Hulu (which I've considered a couple of times). So honestly, if you keep it streaming, it's not too hard to figure out the $50 pricetag for 5 services.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Don't pay $7.99 a month for Hulu, I picked up a 1 year subscription card on ebay for $30.

PhantomStranger 07-30-15 12:41 PM

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

With my collection, I cut off streaming for a month at a time to try and watch some of it.
