It's supposedly like double the ps4 battery life. I bought the charger base and I put it in that when I'm done so i have no idea.

My PS5 upgrade of Watch Dogs Legions is totally unplayable. Crashes non stop. What a nightmare.
I can play Sackboy and Astro’s Playroom but Miles Morales and Watch Dogs are literally crashing every few minutes l. Can’t make heads or tails of this. Don’t know who to call.

Sounds like you have a dud. Those two games are likely a lot more taxing on the hardware, and it's overheating maybe. Do you have a temperature gun? You could maybe use that to see...

Do you have your PS5 enclosed in an entertainment center or out in open air? It could be over heating if it's enclosed.

Why is there not a trophy icon on the bottom menu? Seems odd to me. Hell I can't even find my trophies.

Couldn’t be. Happened this morning minutes after turning the unit on. I don’t know what to do.

A quick google search on both games show it's happening for a certain amount of people so I wouldn't get to worried. Should be easily fixed with a patch.

Hope you are right about that. I did a rebuild of the database. That might have helped with Miles Morales but I still got a crash.
Watch Dogs crashes while loading the game save now. I deleted and reinstalled it and no difference.

I hope they fix this soon... it's to the point I don't even want to play games on it.

I shut off the PS5 last night and disconnected the external HD, been playing for a couple hours this am (including Miles Morales) and no issues.

Sony hasn't said anything about how long but I would expect it to be permanent since they are trying to drive people to Playstation and combat Game Pass.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

My DuelSense doesn't seem to hold more than a bare minimum of charge. Had it plugged in while playing last night and left it plugged in when I turned it off (supposed to charge for 3 hours...) and when I unplugged it, it went a few minutes before giving me a warning that the battery was low.

Sigh...

Try plugging it into a phone charging plug. Also if you powered your PS5 off instead of Rest Mode, it wouldn’t charge at all overnight.

Played Miles Morales for a couple of hours this morning and only had one crash. Not terrible I guess.
Watch Dogs Legions is still totally unplayable. Maybe it’s a software issue.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

The crashing in Miles Morales is happening more now. It may be an issue related to putting the console to Rest Mode rather than Powering all the way off. Here is an article

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Has anyone hooked up a PS5 to their projector? I cannot get HDR to output from the PS5 at all when in 2160p resolution, but I can do it when in 1080p with no issues. It’s in YCbCr 4:2:0 in 2160p, but nothing for HDR. In the output menu where the PS5 detects what the projector can do, it lists it, I just can’t activate it.

Anyone else?

I no longer have a projector, but this person on another forum seemed to have a very similar issue, but they're also running it through a splitter.

Minea working fine with no adjustments. But I did have struggles in the past getting HDR activated with PS4Pro. Have you ever had anything else connected that displays HDR? Could be your HDMI cable, or if you're going through a receiver there may be settings on that.

I troubleshot all cables, even went as far to connect PS5 to the projector. Same issue unfortunately. It’s just odd as it sees everything the PJ can do and says HDR, I just can’t activate it on the PS5.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

it does a handshake with the PJ to know if the cables/PJ/receiver can handle it. so, you can't turn it on, because something isn't supporting it, either the cables or PJ. For my TV I replaced the cables a ton, and couldn't get it to work, turns out it was a setting on the TV, like game mode or something wasn't supporting HDR. so check all settings there, and also try using the cable that came with the PS5 direct to PJ, that is HDMI 2.1, so it definitely can pass the bandwidth needed for HDR.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Played Fallout 76 for about 6 hours today and the response and loading times are epic. No bugs whatsoever. I also plugged in my external HD to the back of the PS5 and I am able to access all of my digital games/saved data from the PS4. It also lets you know which games require a physical disc by having a little red padlock on the game icon. The digital games up as "installed."

I also think I got the 4K Blu-ray portion set up to my liking. That part is a bit cumbersome with regards to Atmos. There's an almost hidden video/audio sub-menu you can access while playing a movie to disable noise reduction and so forth. Under the sound setting in that sub-menu you would click Bitstream and if you're watching a 4K disc is in Atmos then the display on your AVR will reflect that.

Um, PS5 doesn't do Atmos
