I was in the same queue. I must've got in right when it went live (2pm-ish EST) because it actually let me through and purchase one. I couldn't believe it. Playstation Direct definitely seems to be the best option to get one right now.

Wrapped up Bugsnax today. Still have a few trophies left but completed the game and did all the side quests and it took around 12 hours. That's longer than I was expecting. I liked it but didn't love it. Still a huge stepup from the developer's previous game Octodad which I hated.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I tried a little of Bugsnax last night. It's cute. Nice for a freebie. And it won't crash my system, which is a plus.

Q, have you looked into The Pathless yet? It looks really cool but don't know if I want to get it now at full price. Feels like a game that will drop soon enough. But it does look like something I want to check out eventually.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I have it preordered from amazon but it looks like the physical version doesn't come out until 12/8. I can wait since I still have Sackboy to try and then maybe I'll check out Godfall. I also haven't even touched my Series X other than to get all my Rock Band stuff downloaded on to it.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Ugh, my PS5 nightmare continues. I reached out to PS support on Twitter. They referred me to the Contact Us page. I called the number 800-345-SONY. There I discovered that they are not answering any calls and refer you to the online help guide
I checked the guide. Since rebuilding the database didn't work, their next suggestion is a factory reset. Okay, but it turns out that you are not able on a PS5 to back up your game saves without a PS+ subscription. No other backups allowed, even to an external HDD. My son is half way done with Miles Morales. So now I would have to either buy him his own subscription to PS+ (which we don't need for any other reason) or lose his game save. Both are terrible options to just see if maybe this next suggestion might work. I am super-pissed.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Sucks, but the game isn't that long, so I'd ask him if he wants to start over, or slog through and finish, knowing that if he wanted to go back to it, he'd have to start from scratch.

I had the Peacock channel freeze on me today for the first time and it was right after my first time playing MM (no problems prior with anything). That app wouldn't restart until I restarted the PS5. Hopefully, that doesn't start a trend for me.

Could you do a free trial of PsPlus?

What? How did I miss that? I've been joking about it since it came out.

*edit - Google isn't showing anything but rumors from 2014.

I was kinda surprised that there wasn't one in with the PS5, but I guess they didn't want everyone to sign up for the trial just to claim the PS+ Collection.

The Spider-Man thing is annoying for sure, but the frequent crashes is obviously way more disturbing. And Sony is not answering any calls?? WTH. I hope you are able to get the issue resolved.
I finally set mine up last night and played for a few hours with no issues. I'm not going to use rest mode until I'm sure that issue is fixed.
So far I love it. The ultra-fast load times alone basically make it worth it for me. I went from finishing AC: Odyssey on the PS4 to starting AC: Valhalla on the 5, and the difference is stunning. Love the controller also. The graphics are better, but I still have a 1080p plasma that I won't get rid of until it dies a natural death. Oh, and the silence is sweet too; my PS4 sounded like a window air conditioner unit. The only thing I don't like so far is the apparent inability to customize the background, etc. They really need to add that feature.

No issues with my console or MM yet, although that's all I've played so far. I still need to take the time to figure out what setting I need to turn off so the console doesn't power on every time I turn on my TV.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I've just decided to delete MM and reinstall it. Maybe that will help. I did re-download WD Legions and it did nothing. My system never crashes with the other three games that I have played on it. Who knows? Makes sense to try that before wiping the SSHD.

I am still stunned that there is no way to back up your PS5 game saves if you are not a PS Plus member. It's supposed to be a convenient option, not a requirement.

Same here. I was nearly finished clearing out a base when the game abruptly crashed. That's the only issue I've had so far.

I haven't been using rest mode while actively playing Miles Morales. We did with Bugsnax and Astro's Playroom, but with Miles, I've been closing the game before I go to rest mode.

Edit! Just had a hard lockup -- although it didn't crash out to a blue screen this time -- on a different base.

I don't know if it could be at all related but I had a bunch of crashes playing WD on PC. The game would freeze for a few seconds then crash to desktop. Maybe it's the game?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

It works fine on the PS4 but the PS5 often crashes before the world is even finished loading. Otherwise it crashes very shortly after moving around. It's totally unplayable for me. That is in contrast to MM where I can play for a while before experiencing a crash, so it's at least playable but it's super-frustrating to be almost done with a mission and then get a crash. At least it auto-saves frequently.

Walmart was a shit show again. Got to the "place order" button before it failed repeatedly until stock was gone.

Yep, I took another stab again. No different than the previous tries. Glad some people manage to get one.

Same. I wonder what the reasoning was to set that to 'on' out of the box.
