Getting the Harvest Master perk is a must along with the Repair Torch which helps you break in Safes which yield a good chunk of loot along with the Silver Bars to use in store for special items.
thank you for not thinking i am crazy.

Overall I enjoyed it but it didn't feel as good as it could have been. I kind of hope the next one goes back to its roots with enemies that are human and unhuman.

3.5/5
what did you think of 3? what's the basic plot to that one? looking forward to getting with the deluxe pkg. i got...

So, there is no way to avoid being marked by John and captured out of nowhere, right?

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

this game makes me yearn to play. hard during week. but, the few hours on weekends to play this and get more stuff and do more things has me so hooked and i think i only scratched surface thus far. the hardest enemy so far was a flame thrower guy...

Finally found the last bobble head. It was on the map, just off the beaten path and not near a travel point like the rest.

Went on to finish the game too. I liked that last boss battle. The ending? Wow, fucked up and ballsy. I liked it.

Now onto arcade mode and some trophy hunting.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

With three down and one to go, my thoughts on the 3 regions so far...

Spoiler:
Played John's area first, then Faith's, then Jacobs'.

While I hated the forced story mission construct in all, John's were the most enjoyable because 1) I at least had somewhat of a chance to temporarily avoid them, and 2) they were unique and interesting missions with realistic tension. The final fight was a bit annoying because I'm a terrible pilot, but at least it was different.

Faith's 'blessed' missions were sort of goofy and lacked real action, but at least they were brief. The Faith boss fight was fun for what it was, and I normally hate the hippy dippy stuff in these games.

I hated the Jacob missions. I hated that I couldn't escape the missions, and -- while I understand the storyline reason for it -- I hated the repetitive nature of them. The final fight with the towers was obnoxious and the real fight with Jacob was a joke.

As for the areas themselves, I probably enjoyed the creepy happy dream quality of Faith's area the most, plus enjoyed its unique landmarks like the statue and the mammoth park. There was a decent variety to the land. The Path of Enlightenment and all the random Angels wandering really added to the cultish feel of the place.

John's area was lacking in terrain variety a bit, but felt the most lived in... like it was a real place with real people living there. This area really sold the idea of a disrupted community with people's lives turned upside down.

Jacob's area was beautiful and vast, and had a lot of terrain changes, but it didn't really excite me. It was a bit of a nuisance to navigate and I just didn't get a sense of unique elements there. They had a great concept to play with in the area with the Judge Wolves and the brainwashed regular people, but they didn't execute it to its full potential.

So I got caught by John Seed, yada yada got out of there and lost my SA50 that I spent hard earned dollars for. How does that happen?

holy shit. having so much trouble trying to beat John's trucks in the North, East, West as a side mission. no matter what weapon i use, vehicle i have to ram, or soldiers with me, i get blasted every time. and when i fast travel to get closer, of course, they are gone. these load screens suck...

Get a plane (or the pilot assistant Gun For Hire) and bomb them or strafe them. You can get a nice WW2 fighter for defeating John.

If you have trouble come back to the mission later. It's just a Side Mission not a story one.

Yeah, haven’t gotten that far in story to kill John. And every time I get in a Peggie truck with rail gun attached or whatever, my roster squad, Jess and Grace won’t drive the damn truck despite being in drivers seat. Haven’t come across plane yet. Helicopter yes. But no plane as of yet. I guess I could leave it and free some more outposts or figure out some more prepper stashes. Is that all there is though? Seems repetitive. Still fun, but not a lot of variety yet. Am I wrong?

That mission was a piece of cake. What I did, take a bigger vehicle and cut them off down the road they are on. Block the road with said vehicle and hop out and camp out on the side of the road. They'll slow down then take them out with some rockets.

Yes, you are wrong. The prepper stashes are just a small fraction of side missions and things to do. If that's all you are doing along with the Outposts and story missions, you are missing out on a ton of content.

I don’t have rockets. The best I have is that sniper rifle. When I block them, they go the other way, but not before blasting me and crew and then load screen. I talk to all people with white I’s above them. Herded some cows, but nothing else. Everyone I talk to in liberated outposts is a prepper stash or another outpost...

Don't have rockets then skip that mission for awhile. Every outpost usually has 2-3 people offering missions after you liberate it.

Are you talking about the mission where you have to take out that heavy armored "Death machine" or whatever it's called?.....

If so...I didn't have Rockets at the time I did it but had one of those super built pickup trucks....and yea, I took it and parked in the middle to help block but then threw out three Proxy Explosives spacing them out about two car lengths each and threw one remote where I parked the truck. I've used those Proxy & Remote charges a lot...on roads and outpost. I save and use the rockets on those copters & planes.

Remember for the NPC's to drive or at least for me it has...you have to mark a destination on the map. Hop in the back/turret and they'll get in and drive.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

He's talking about the "3 caravans" mission. Three separate groups of 3 trucks each roaming around John's area.

Proxies and remote charges are awesome. I don't think I had started messing with those until after that mission, but those would have been awesome to pair with the rockets.

Skip that one for now. It's much easier with planes, helicopter, rocket launchers and mines - all of which you can get later. Just wander, esplore. Free prisoners, liberate outposts. Talk to every NPC who has an icon over their head. You'll unlock more skills and weapons and missions.
I wish you had this on a PS4. I would do co op and help you out. Maybe someone here who has this on XO can help you

thanks Deck. i appreciate the offer. i actually completed this mission, somehow. i shut off yesterday still trying to figure it out. i think i beat 2 of the convoys and was onto the third. never did get them, but when i opened game today, it was weird, and the stars came up and said i completed that mission. so that was that, i guess...
