I've conquered three regions but have only fished the one time when I was originally introduced to it...Did not like it at all...Now I have a couple story missions that require fishing...Guess I have to figure it out now...I'd prefer to just throw grenades into the lake and see what fish float to the top but apparently you can't do that...

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

I guess I'm a shitty fisherman... I tried at least two dozen times to reel in The Admiral only to have the line snap. I "tired" him out but no matter what I did, he got away. Guess I'm skipping that mission.

Do you have the fishing perk and the third or fourth rod?

Are you letting go of the left stick when the line changes color? Your line should almost never break if you keep a watchful eye on color changes (at least with the right rod and the fishing perk).

Yep, I let the fish out as the color goes to bright yellow. I battled a few times for several minutes figuring that eventually there was a "stamina meter" on the fish. I don't think catching that fish will add much value to the game, but now I'm semi-obsessed with finishing that quest.

Fishing even the smallest fish can snap the line, forget about bigger ones. It's not even worth fishing without the perk.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Gearing up to Faith. Sure takes a long time to finish a region. Still not finished but almost there with resistance points. Still have a lot to do to. Are all regions this long? And how the hell are you supposed to take out the bliss boats and trucks in this region mission? You can’t track them. I drove all over and took a boat along the river and I have 1/5 drug boats and 2/5 drug trucks. Hard as hell and I’m so determined...

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Don't take on Faith until you finish that mission. There will be fewer enemy boats & trucks after you defeat her. I finished it after defeating her, but it did seem a little trickier.

I roamed the shores fishing and eventually drug boats came by. I used a grenade launcher on them. Same with the trucks. Was just kinda going about other missions (looking for comics, lighters, bobbleheads, stashes, etc.) and eventually they just kinda drove by.

I couldn't go 50 feet before a boat or truck came by... Until I started that mission. Now they're more scarce than unicorns.

Liberate outposts or free prisoners (in prison vans or on the side of the road), then talk to NPCs with icons over their heads and you will unlock more missions

Sorry, I didn’t mean unlock more missions, as I have plenty to do, but if I untrack that particular convoy mission, perhaps I’ll see more bliss boats and trucks is what I meant...

Nope. But you should untrack it because tracking it is a waste of time. Unlock that third Weapons slot when you are able to with Perks, equip a Rocket launcher and just have it readily available when you see a truck or boat go by.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

What Decker said. Just go about playing and just be ready for when they drive by. When I was hunting them/tracking the mission I couldn't find shit. Once I just went about playing the game they would just magically drive by.

Also, anyone who is a trophy/achievement hunter, get those in before finishing the game. I have a few, what should be, easy ones left but can't really get them due to a lack of enemies after finishing the game. You can reset outposts to bring the bad guys back, but that supposedly kills all your quick travel points. I'm not quite ready to do that just yet.

I've reset twice now. It doesn't reset all your travel points, just the ones associated with outposts.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

I wish I could reset the Prepper stations.

Though like I said previously, you can do them online and get all the bonuses and perks again (just not stuff like planes or costumes unlocked if it's not on your game save).

Any way to play this game in single player mode without everything turning into a shootout? I'm more of a stealth kill kind of person.

Yes. Stay hidden. Use Peaches and Jess (or Grace). Highlight enemies and have those two take out bad guys. Get a good sniper rifle with a silencer and stay crouched. If you see your detection meter increasing, back away so you aren't actually spotted.
And if you can, shoot the boxes at the bottom of the alarm towers (green light towers) at outposts. Once they're all disabled, they can't call in back up.

yes, great advice. i like to do both. but, cult outposts i love to use my sniper rifle and not trigger any alarms. great feeling.

anyway, killed Faith. tough bitch. still haven't made it out yet, but it was satisfying killing her, though she probably liked it and transcended to another existence...

!!!

I didn't know you could shoot them. I was always sneaking up and disabling them manually.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

This game really gives me the itch to play. Even times I wouldn’t normally. I say, I’ll do one more mission or liberate one more outpost or stash. I love you can do it from different ways and learn and figure other routes if get killed. I haven’t even fished or hunted, but having fun doing all the different missions and now killing a lieut gives me a 4th gun. Shangrala. But, seriously it is pretty addicting. Haven’t had this itch since Red Dead Redemption, but that was ALL about huntin’...
