In game rewards for having to watch at least 30 minutes of someone else play the game? No thanks! I like the game enough but I'm not blown away by it. Just another round of Far Cry.

You don’t have to actively watch it. I had a stream going in my office while I was in my living room gaming, and I still got it.
If you miss out, it’s no big deal. Depending on how you play, you’ll be moving from level 1 weapons to level 3 fairly quickly, so a level 2 gun like this won’t be in rotation long.

There are only 22 story missions for Far Cry New Dawn, 16 of which I completed pretty quickly up to this point. If you're one of those who only plays games for the main storyline and then you move on to the next game, this game is beatable in 3 or 4 hours.

I am LOVING it so far. Yeah, it's more Far Cry, so if you're expecting changes you'll be disappointed, but I love me all things Far Cry. The materials for crafting are easy to get and most of the time I have way more than I need, except for ethanol, which is not nearly as easy to get. The missions are fun, the new companions are great (some are hilarious), Level III weapons are excellent. Visually it's very cool too. Great new addition!

Ditto. After feeling let down by FC5, I'm having a complete and total blast here. I don't even know how I'm going to play games going forward without Horatio or Nana in 'em. (Hurk sucks, though.) The size and scope are exactly what I'm looking for right now, and while I'm not wild about repeating expeditions / outposts, I still love how little of the game is gated off. Before I got around to the first mission of Act II, I'd already acquired 7 Guns for Hire and unlocked all their skills, at least one level on all available perks, three-starred all the outposts, had an arsenal of Elite weapons, finished all the treasure hunts...
Whew, those expeditions are pretty brutal on the higher tiers. I haven't given one a super-serious try on level III (with one to go after that!), but my first couple attempts did not go well.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18
Well, it took way, way, way too many tries, but I got the "Anger Management" achievement. I wish I'd attempted that before all the outposts and expeditions were up to Tier III. I also wish that Wrath and Takedown weren't both triggered by the right thumbstick, but whatever.
So now I'm down to just "Have Buddy, Will Travel". Is anyone still playing on the XB1 and bored enough to wanna help me out?

Anybody further along in the game, is there a silencer attachment to the sniper rifle or better sniper rifle in general? Trying to complete some outposts is a huge pain when that gun is so weak. Still really liking this game... it's more of the same but a cool twist on the last go-round.

Yup, you can buy a suppressor for sniper rifles.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18
My friend and I were playing co-op on Far Cry 5 today. We were on the final battle with John Seed. We hopped in a plane to fight him. We ended up dying pretty quickly and instead of spawning us back on the plane, it warped us both to the ground with John still in air and we were really far from the Seed ranch hanger. We were both really confused. My friend had fought him before, but I hadn't. It took ten minutes for Nick Rye to respawn so my friend and I tried to go back to the hangar to get a plane. Halfway there, the game started saying that John had crashed and to go to the bunker. We got to the bunker and John was defeated. We did nothing, but got credit for defeating him off. So, I don't know if some resistance fighters took him out or what, but we didn't do anything and beat him.... Well I guess one Seed sibling down and two more to go...

^^ Truthfully, that's an excellent outcome for you because of all the boss battles, that one sucked the most.

Last night I finally got to the point where you battle
, and I have to say that killing them was immensely satisfying. Really, New Dawn has been fantastic.

I completes the main game about 2 weeks ago and since then I have been clearing everything else. I have got all skills and for about 6 of them I have leveled them each up 10 times. I only have a couple of the challenges left to do, so got most skill points from that. I have also completed all the expeditions up to Tier III and I am enjoying replaying them more than anything else at the moment. I cleared the map and did have fun letting the bases go back to the enemy and then retaking them. So far along though that I can take down a Tier III base without being seem and no alarms and with the Tier III superior enemies. The skill to silently take them down is essential. I think I enjoyed this more than Far Cry 5. Even though I feel little challenge any more, its fun to replay and cause chaos. Upping the level of adrenaline, so it regenerates faster, and the hand to hand is a good combo. The legendary creature I take on hand to take and can kill with about 10 hits. Top tier enemies only take about 2-3 hits and fun to see them fly off after being punched.
I use the top tier Bow, top tier silenced pistol, the top tier heavy sniper rifle and the grenade launcher. Also used resources to upgrade each so they do serious damage. The bow alone almost single shots anything.

I'm enjoying the heck out of FC New Dawn. The story totally SUCKS and I'm upset that we don't get the entire FC5 map back. But it is SO cool to see those places you visited in FC5 and remembering what the place used to look like. I do like the way progression works this time as it's not so easy or simplistic and just harvesting fish in a pond or shooting deer won't give you all the resources you will need to get every weapon this time.
I also really like the idea of leaving and recapturing individual outposts as a way to get more resources and making the game harder as you play -- something that didn't happen in the first game, shy of finishing and starting a New Game Plus mode. A much-needed tweak.
I had a hilarious glitch : In the Fighting Pit, when you survive three rounds you eventually have to battle the Champion boss (who is huge and is a big cheat). The first time I died barely making a dent in his health. The game reloaded and as I watched, he made his grand entrance into the arena via zipline. But halfway down the zipline he fell into the crowd and immediately died. The announcer yelled "He kicked his ASS!" and the crowd cheered. Apparently he drops a good melee weapon that I could have picked up had I actually beat him, but as he fell into the crowd above the pit, I just let that go and moved on. I had passed the difficult Boss battle without ever taking a swing at him and just completed the mission.
Edit : I checked You Tube and this is how it played out. I guess I accidently cut the zip line just like this guy did.

^ How was the zip line cut? I didn't see it in that video before his incredibly annoying laugh.

I ended up getting New Dawn since it was on sale. I won't be playing it for awhile since I'm only a third of the way through Far Cry 5. It will probably be $9.99 or less by the time I get around to playing it....

Wrapped this up last night... I beat the twins a few weeks back but never "visted Rush's grave"... it was a fun game but the ending was SO lackluster compared to the original game. I love the FC series so I'm always up for their next offering.

Definitely going to pick this one up soon - I always see nothing but positive talk about it and while I swore Ubisoft off not too long ago - they pulled me back in with Division 2. Far Cry is definitely more my style though so I hope I like it.
