Managed to get 2 of the 4 "antlered" meat earlier. Totally random though. Seems like the best bet is too just stick to driving around to missions and eventually an animal will be in the road. It's still wonky though. I can hit a deer doing 60mph and it gets up and walks away. It seems like no matter how hard you hit them, it's gonna take 3 hits to kill them.
that looks fucking amazing. How much is that sucker? a sniper rifle and shotgun are my two favorite weapons in FPS's...

I didn't know you could not arrest him. That's hilarious. There should have been an achievement/trophy for that. When Faith asks you to take your "leap of faith" I stood there for a couple of minutes hoping for something unique to happen. I was kinda bummed nothing did, forcing me to move the story along.

As for the animals, use the Ultimate Hunter potion (or whatever it's called). Those two roadkill missions -- yes, you'll be given another one afterwards -- are the only times I wound up using any of those. Basically just take a swig, spin around 360 degrees, and then follow the markers. It makes tracking down animals so, so, so much easier.

I wound up switching to an ATV with the bison roadkill mission, and that'd probably be a godsend for the antlered quest too. You won't do as much damage, but you have way more speed and maneuverability, and if you just let the ATV sit on top of your prey afterwards, the damage keeps piling up.
I also use the SA-50 in close combat, particularly the "judges."

I use the homeopath, but it still seems like a crapshoot. I'll switch to the ATV. Speaking of, I had Grace riding on the back of the ATV earlier and I rammed an oncoming vehicle head on. She didn't go flying(bummer) but it did knock her off and kill her instantly. I thought that was a nice touch.

Also, I typically run with Grace and Peaches but unlocked Jess this weekend so it changed the make up of my team. I'm playing as a female character and have Grace and Jess at my side. We completed some mission or outpost(I think it was the Cheeseburger outpost) and all three of us are standing close by and Grace says "We're some bad ass bitches." That killed me.

I finally unlocked Cheeseburger too. Kinda cool, but I think Peaches is more stealthy and works better. Cheeseburger is too slow and cumbersome and goes down pretty easy.

They did the same thing in Far Cry 4.

Funny that they have so many clothing options to buy when none of them affect your stats in any way and you can never even see them on you.

Dumb question: are you doing this at the locations highlighted on the map or in areas marked as hunting grounds for those animals? I almost always found at least one (usually several). My biggest problem was catching up with them in the truck I was using at the time, especially since those areas are often hilly.

False! You can see them on the Wanted posters.

The areas marked specifically for that mission.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

So is it more important to do side missions than story in beginning? Build stats and stuff? I don’t have too many side missions that are not completed and not exactly sure how to get more. I talk to everybody to try and get something else...

There's no right or wrong way. I wouldn't do too many story missions because the game gets harder as you advance in an area, but sure do some and more stuff and more missions will unlock.

Ok. So liberate outposts, take out some prisoner trucks, some side missions, stuff like that...

I like those. But I always get detected. Would like to do it undetected once. Really want that sniper rifle above. Really have to save. Will I be able to carry more stuff eventually? So far only two guns on wheel. More medkits and stuff?

Yes, there are perks for all of that.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Just keep playing. Talk to everyone. You'll find side missions. Go and find/unlock a Specialist to help you out. Use the map to find houses, buildings etc. Search every building. The game kind of unfolds for you as you do this. Find magazines, each one gives you a perk point. Look at the challenge page. Pick a weapon and get x/kills to get those perk points then pick another gun and do the same to get more perk points. Scroll down further and hunt/skin or fish for certain animals and get the perk points for those.

There are many outposts. Try different methods every time and find what suits you or which way is the most fun. There is no wrong way. Experiment. It's one of the best things about Far Cry.

Recommended Perks in your case:

General
Health Boost 1-4: increases your max health
Fisher King: makes fishing easier
Harvest Master: doubles your loot for animals/plants (great for making money)

Stealth
Sneaky Sprint: move faster while crouched
Ghost: you make less noise when walking, sprinting, and landing.

Weapons
Additional Holster: adds a 3rd weapon slot
Weapons Collector: adds a 4th weapon slot

You posted this literally minutes after I purchased the sawed off red shotgun for $7200. I was so mad at myself. I made it my mission to go make enough money today to buy it. I did hunting and fishing and side missions until I had enough and bought it. You are so right, it's the best gun by far.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Thanks for the tip on the sniper rifle. I just spent a ton of money on a grenade launcher so I can complete that challenge, plus it's also quite fun to use, but I'll get that sniper rifle next.

To capture an outpost totally undetected, I realized I needed to get rid of both companions, since they were always getting detected (even Jess w/the bow).

Best way to take a Outpost undetected I've found is to get close with Jess and Peaches, send them in while you are out of site, and just wait.

The AI is pretty dumb, they will only sound the alarm if they see YOU.

Others can see your clothes in co-op and in Arcade. Also the wanted posters in the game are dynamic and reflect what you’re wearing, plus you actually can see your arms and legs pretty frequently in the game.

This. Peaches is awesome. I direct her to attack certain peggies until she gets taken out and then clean up sniping a few, then sneak in for the rest.

Also, I directed Grace to an alarm to see if she'd turn it off (she didn't but the a.i. Should be smart enough for that). Well she crouch walked right across an open area in plain sight of and she passed by multiple peggies. They didn't even flinch. lol The AI is a bit broken.

If the peggies haven't been alerted (found a dead body, heard a gunshot, etc.) they won't notice your companions. But I've had situations where I forgot to move a body and the peggies were on "Let's find who did this!" mode. I was well hidden, but my companion was running around like a goof and was spotted, causing all hell to break loose.

That worked for me as well. Is there any reason to do this besides the $1000 bonus? I expected like an Achievement or Perks bonus but didn't get anything else.

Liberate outposts and talk to the folks in the newly liberated outposts. I think every outpost has story missions associated with it.

You can find outposts because they always have dark smoke emitting from them. The Peggies are terrible polluters, it seems.

All I’ve been doing is liberating outposts (never undetected though ) Like 3 or 4 so far. After last one I got nothing but kill moose. Maybe I got to talk to more. It was the outpost with sheriff and I talked to him but don’t think he have me mission...

You mean the Jail? Talk to the folks there. There are plenty of missions from that spot (though they're in Faith's region and I think you should go to John's area first as it's easier).

I was in Falls End. Fast travelled I think. Liberated jail but didn’t stay long. I figured it out. Just talk more. Thanks, but what does LS do when driving? It’s supposed to be auto drive and I hit it and nothing seems to happen...
