Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
That's my town as well. I have it laid out how I like it and didn't set up any building farm areas or things like that. Right now the boardwalk pieces aren't a financial issue, but if the cost keeps going up they might be. Along with the required water areas. I haven't bought too much at this point. I've got one building almost finished and I might have enough room to put another when its available.

I'm at Level 30, 114493XP and $285,460
I usually put everyone on 12 hour tasks, except if they get a random quest for a different time length.
I always have Cletus farm doing moonshine, which is a 24 hr task. And the Channel 6 Studio doing Channel 6 News which is a 16 hour task I think.

Nice. Have you not bought any buildings or land in a while?

So far I've bought two pieces of shoreline and four pieces of water.I tend to put people on eight-hour tasks in three cycles: before workday, end of workday, bedtime. Obviously that gets messed up with quests, as you said, but that's my general system. Sometimes I put Mr. Burns on the hounds just cause he confuses me on his eight-hour task.
Channel 6 I alternate between eight-hour and 16-hour.Since we can still use the Christmas decorations, I wonder if the tentative plan is to resurrect that during the holidays. The decorations were a good way to generate whatever the rewards were at the time, though I'm still kicking myself because I didn't realize that buying the decorations for, say, a blue house meant you could then convert ALL your blue houses to decorated.

That's a good rotation.. I may have to resort to that. I was using 12 hours as I could start one in the morning and one in the evening.
It would be nice if there were ways to generate more boardwalk pieces than there currently is. But I guess they wanted to extend the life of the game, which is what it appears to me in the cost, time to build, and requirements that the new Squidport buildings can only be built on boardwalks. I wonder if anyone has computed how many boardwalk pieces are needed to build all of the Squidport buildings and things available. Its got to be quite a bit, I'd imagine.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I was doing longer cycles when I had snakes to whack, but the current system works for me. On weekends I sometimes go for four-hour cycles, but I don't want to be too aggressive when there's also buildings to keep up with and neighbor visits. The main goal is to avoid people finishing their tasks at 3 in the morning.
But I also hate getting people stuck on long tasks then have them be next up on a quest. E.g., I put most of my people on four-hour tasks yesterday to sync with the end of the Captain's quest (which ended up being a building so I didn't need them anyway).
The good news is that people are saying Squidport is a permanent addition, not a limited event, so it's not a huge rush to get these done.

Mine is stuck for the squidport quests. I just built itchy and scratchy store. It shows as done on the quest, but it won't trigger the next quest. WTF

Ive reached a different glitch as well, I am stuck on part 6 I have to build a tile, but I have none left to build, tired taking down the entire boardwalk and putting it back up, and nothing.

I had the same issue with Itchy/Scratchy and had to use the inventory trick to get moving again.

You click on the squidport sign to build tiles. You've already placed 4 tiles down, so you place the fifth one down once it's built.

Hmm, that's good to know, thanks. It kind of defeats the point so have them elsewhere so I'm going to leave them, but I'll move them later if I need to.
For now I'm building my boardwalk straight out into the water but I'm not sure that's the best strategy.

Yes, I know, like my post said, I don't have any more boards to build(meaning I built them all) so I can not progress past this mission. After that mission popped up, I built about 20 tiles, and it still didn't complete

So you've placed 20 tiles on the water and the mission still hasn't completed?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
ok, I read on the EA forum that people who are using donuts to speed up squidport are experiencing glitches at various points. Best advise is to contact EA support and hopefully they can fix the glitches. One person had the same glitch as you and there doesn't seem to be a fix like the storage solution. My advise to everyone is to not speed up the building of Squidport.

I used donuts to speed up some of the building time on two buildings, as well as a few shorter quests, and maybe 8 boardwalk tiles. So far, no glitches.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I haven't rushed any boardwalk tiles yet, and they're very unsatisfying to complete.
I'm building Rainsticks and am pretty much out of boardwalk space, but to move on to the next phase of the quest, I have to finish two more tiles. I'm going to finish one in two hours, and Rainsticks will finish in 10 hours, but I'll have to wait for the next tile (and the current one is a 24-hour build) to move on in the quest. Then again, maybe I don't want to move on because of lack of space on my boardwalk.
