It looks like the boardwalk tiles top out at 24 hours to build and $5000 cost. The last 3 I've done have been those details.

Nope, youve got a long way to go. They top out at 3 Days to build a single tile

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Stupid game gave me a false sense of hope with the tiles. I just started building my 5th at 1 day/$5000. They really want to stretch out the update and make it expensive to get the boardwalk and buildings. It would be nice if there was another way to get them, ie mystery box or something..

I'm building the 3rd building now, Just Rainsticks.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I had to put my Rainsticks and lemonade stand in storage to make room for building the Frying Dutchman. I reconfigured my boardwalk from going straight out into the water to running along the coastline, and I was able to cram everything in. Not pretty, but it works.

I now have Lisa working on a Rainsticks task while that builds, but I completely lost track of my Sea Captain. I was pretty sure he wasn't doing standup or a tall tale, and I couldn't find him in the library. I had to look up his 12-hour task, which is Pray to Poseidon, so I was able to find him in the church. Fortunately he will probably finish around the same time as Lisa in case either of them frees up another quest task. But if it's tied to the Dutchman, I still have 14 hours to go. At least my last few boardwalk sections have been 24-hour builds instead of longer... for now.

Ugh, had to spend 30 donuts just now to speed up two boardwalk tiles in order to build my next quest building. Didn't want to wait 3 days with nothing to do

Could you put a finished boardwalk building in storage while you build? I did that to get my construction started, then rearranged my tiles enough to fit everything in.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Some of the quests will require a certain amount of tiles, I think this was 21 and I only had 19 made. Not so much a space issue, but the fact that you need tiles. No biggie, I just did the buddah trick a few times and won 60 more donuts

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Clearly, I don't have the timing on the Homer Buddha trick right since I tried to do it and wound up stuck with a dumpster. Waste of 15 donuts. On the up side, that was my second attempt -- the first attempt, I scored Professor Frink.

Buddha trick is pretty simple.

Start game, get golden Buddha up on your screen.

Hold down power button on device and count for three seconds (One-one thousand, two-one thousand, three-one thousand) and then tap the golden Buddha.

If done correctly you should see what you got before your device prompts you to power off. If it was something stupid then power the device down, if it was donuts press cancel and collect donuts.

repeat.

It sounds easy, but I can't seem to get the timing down.

Tomorrow should be interesting, I have 30+ characters in The Frying Fisherman, all set to go off at the same time.

Gotcha. I may be in that situation myself pretty soon (only 13 of 16 tiles while working on the Frying Fisherman).

Thats where I am. I put one of the Squidport buildings in storage so I had enough space to start the Frying Fisherman building. I thought that it might not let me start the build as it was tied to a quest to have 16 tiles build. I'm at 13 with #14 done in 12 hours.

Yup, biggest thumbs up I have ever seen. I tapped on it and money and XP few everywhere, then all the characters invaded Squidport; I should have taken screen shots.

Yep, exactly the same for me. I finished the building and am now sitting on part 11 of the quest waiting for tiles to build (four hours away from #14). It did give me an eight-hour task for the Sea Captain, which is good, but I'm almost tempted to set my people on 24-hour tasks so I don't have to get a constant reminder of being in limbo.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Wasted more donuts on stupid boardwalk tiles. Why can't we just buy these for cash? Stupid idea.

Time to build tattoo shop in Squidport = 24hr
Time to build 4 more tiles to meet the required 25/25 for the quest = 6 days!

When does the next jump in length of time and cost for tiles come in? I'm still at 14 tiles, building #15 now and they are 24 hours and $5000.

Practice on your five-day Mystery Box. I power cycled on my mystery box today until I got a Homer Buddha, then power cycled on the Buddha until I got 30 donuts.

Yup, I just started #16 to finish this part of the question, and it's a 36-hour job. Even better, it's scheduled to end at 2 a.m. so you might as well add another four or five hours on to it.

I just opened my mystery box before reading this, and got five wooden fences.
