Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I thought the Homer House of Cards might wait till act 3, but I got it this weekend. I played a few games and didn't like it. My best hand was three of a kind, but that was only worth 110 chips, which is the lowest dice payout.

I'd like to see the odds as well, but I have been playing the dice game a fair amount. It's not easy, but I feel I win a fair amount of times mostly picking numbers on the outer edges. But I'm not playing any more, having won the last act 2 prize and using all my accumulated junk to upgrade to crafting level 3. So now I have nothing left to craft with. I got the sign in act 2 and I'd like to go back and get the airplane at some point. I was upgrading my club card for a while, but there was really not much incentive since it only gives me crafting stuff and upgrades the tower I already have. I'd much rather earn the prizes and crafting stuff because that's new buildings and such.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Some guys on reddit say that the best average dice payouts are 9 and 5.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Interesting. So I guess they ran x number of games and calculated the average payout on each number. I assume they also factored in how the two cheats are back to back and went high on the second one, then back to the standard number after that.

I suppose they could've also calculated exactly when the cheats were coming and gone high on both numbers, but I'm too lazy to do that.

Interesting. I'm getting significantly higher payouts with Homers House of Cards than I did with the other two games. I'm staying with it for now.

I'm surprised that jjcool is level 58, though. I figured he was significantly lower. I've had a lot of cash for quite a while now, but as bippity said, I don't buy land until I need it. I assume you have a fair number of houses and other revenue generators? I have a lot of houses, though I don't think of it as a "farm."

Maybe I'll try House of Cards again. I only played like four games on it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

When I'm playing, I always forget to look up how the odds work out on these games. Got excited that House of Cards might actually be poker but nope!

As for cash on hand, I have a giant white house farm I started a long time ago before house prices go up exponentially and I tap it twice a day. Also didn't buy land unless I needed it and still have several aspirational items left to purchase, like the rotating reataurant. I usually hover around $30 million in reserves and when I hit $40 million I buy something and/or it's time for a new level or land expansion.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I unlocked players club level 3 last night as well as Cregg Demon. There's nothing really in level 2 I want, so I'm going to just save up for the building in level 3 once act 3 opens up to get the show tickets.

I'm going to stock pile tokens so I can get a good jump on act 3 since I finished 2 days early. I'm hoping I get all the players club levels. I bought a few things so far in level 1 as I needed to up players club slightly to get to next levels.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I saved my tokens the last day of act 1 and that gave me a good enough head start. Today I got the final prize of Act 2, so I'm doing that again. It's hard because I'm one slot from getting to Level 3.

About the money, for long time players, how do you decide how much money to save? I read Story 30 million, and thought wow! But I'm above 20 million right now, and really, why would I want to keep that amount? I still have land to buy, big ticket items, etc. But I'm saving my money... why? Not sure.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've been sitting on $50 million for quite a while. When I go over that, I'll spend the overage on Rat Trap Delivery Trucks for the XP boost. I'll buy land as I need it, or big expenditures. Otherwise, I guess I'm just saving for a rainy day.

What is the highest level, at the moment? I always seem to have a job pending that requires some building or whatnot that I need the next level to get.

I don't really have any extra space, and I don't buy extra land I don't think. I've got a ton of buildings that generate income. i guess my main problem is I have become a bit bored with the game, and don't collect the income as aften as I should. And I can't remember the last time I viited friends springfields. But I always seem to have some job that requires a good amount of cash, as Joe said.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I just got the Woodstock Casino and I'm trying to decide whether to go for Cregg Demon or not. It's another 22,750 chips with only 1 day, 11 hours left (plus sleeping time is in there).

I have 200 game tokens to play still (what's the best odds, slots?), will be able to visit friends once tonight and maybe once tomorrow. I'll be able to tap Burns' Casino at least once more today and maybe 3-4 times tomorrow, plus all the wandering gamblers in my town each of those times. Can't tell if that's all enough to put me over the edge or not quite enough to get there and maybe I should save them for Act III.

Thoughts?

59 is the highest level. It's been about 3 months since that was released. I believe this is the longest the game has gone without a new level released.

I was in a similar position at the end of Act I and played craps to get the final chips for Lucius. Bet 7 on each roll, which nearly always got me 110 chips before three rolls were done.

I'm not all that interested in Cregg, so I'll re-evaluate tomorrow whether I'll save my tokens for Act III -- where I want the final prize.

I haven't started any crafting either, so I might want to use some tokens in the slots game as that seems to give out items used for crafting.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Bummer that the start time for the daily challenge has shifted to 1 a.m. after the time change. So now I'm punting it till the morning, but fortunately it's usually pretty easy (like one of the casino jobs that I have assigned anyway).

Probably depends on how much you want Cregg Demon. I got him but he's pretty meh so far (I don't know him from the show, so that could be a factor for you). If you have, say, seven people working the casino, that's about 800 chips per four hours, so five times will be 4000. Add in your two rounds of neighbor visits (a few hundred?) and five rounds of wanderers (a thousand? just guessing). Some people have said here that they frequently win 110 chips betting sevens on the dice, so if you average that (a bit of a stretch, yes, but just for argument's sake) over 200 chips, you should get there with plenty of room to spare. Someone else said that five and nine will give you better odds, then there's slots as well.

The tricky thing is you don't know what's coming in act 3.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I may have to let Cregg Demon go. I fell asleep and missed a tapping session last night, plus the neighbor visits. Oh, well.

My last three Maggie game taps have been like this:
1. Found her in exactly one second on my house farm. She's always in my house farm!
2. Where is she?! She isn't in my house farm! Okay, there she is, found her at the last second.
3. Oh no, forgot to turn on the sound. Where is she... where is she... Time's up. Not in the house farm.

Things may be changing for me with her!

Missing a casino cycle is a blow, for sure. I think it's still possible if you monitor your progress today and see if you're in shouting range, but you might have to blow all your tokens. And depending on where you are and your luck, you may blow them all and still not get there.

And yeah, I've missed Maggie a few times, either on a weird building or maybe on a roof that's obscured by another building. Annoying.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Anyone notice the slot machine game stingier with the wins lately? I played 10 or so times this morning to get the daily quest, and I didn't "win" once. Vastly different than every other time I have played the slot machine game.

That does sound unusual. I played the dice game and didn't get much either. Fortunately the daily challenge was for courtesy/consolation chips.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I like the St. Patty's Day cathedral but won't pull the trigger. I'm doing the questline in case it's limited, but it's annoying because it's all Ned and he should be working in my casino.

I started act 3 with over 600 tokens and all crafting tiers unlocked, but my player's club is only level 13. I'll work toward the prizes then see if I can work on the club as well. My main goals are the casino from level 3 and then airplane from level 2. I did craft two of Nero's fountains, which appear to have the biggest payouts in club card points.

I can see that. If your houses are on, say, four-hour cycles and you only collect once a day, you won't rake in that much cash. It also helps that I have over 300% of multipliers. I haven't bought some of the big ones like the Springfield sign and the mountain, but I grabbed a ton of those tennis courts when they were free.

so I bought an ipod touch yesterday and am looking at some games, how much does it cost to play tapped out? I don't want to get sucked into games that feel like you have to keep buying add ons to keep playing. It looks like Sim City in the Simpsons world.

Out of the ios games I've played (which I'm sure is not as many as some people), I think Tapped Out offers a lot of value without having to pay anything. Sure, they'll try to tempt you into paying, but you really don't need to. And donuts--the premium currency--are easier to acquire now than they've ever been.

When you're getting started, it also helps to add friends. Take note of the most active participants in this thread, check their IDs in the very first post, and add them.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I had more than 300 tokens saved up this morning. That blew me through the first two prizes, and I still have about 90 tokens to use (it's taking a long time to use them all). I think this round is going to be a breeze.
