Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm about 600 music notes away from more free donuts. I'm hoping I can hit that, then I'm ready for this event to be done.

Got everything I wanted. Homer decoy, boat, Welcome sign and some cane fields.

I'm not running event jobs anymore.

Even though it's still going on, I'm out and put my people on cash earning tasks.
there was a discrepancy with the license being available for 10 additional days after this event. Of course I was "only" 300 DNA away from the gulp and grab so I spent donuts last night to craft it. Thanks EA.

When an event like this ends, it will always require a download from the App Store to officially set things back to normal. So you'll usually have at least an extra day to keep playing before you're forced to download the update.

There was an automatic update last night that I thought might be the end, but no.

I did earn another donut bonus and am continuing to craft on the chance that I'll get enough for the Bob sign.

I'm up to 1,500 music notes, I'm thinking I should try for another donut bonus.

The update is live in the Android store. I haven't downloaded it yet since I should be able to score enough music notes to get a donut bonus tonight. I doubt I would've gotten enough DNA for the sign even if I kept my people on task. Too few earn DNA and there were too many upgrades that required it.

The DNA is tough. In addition to the few characters who can earn it, I've upgraded a number of times and still get only seven strands for a three-hour task.

I'm about 750 away from the sign now, so the key is how long before they force the upgrade. I was already rejected from a neighbor visit because they had "newer content" than me. I'm also 1K away from another donut bonus, and that seems more realistic than the DNA.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I got the update -- two updates, actually. One gets rid of all the Monsarno stuff, the other adds the newest level (53?) I booted up the game while on my way out of my building this morning and actually turned around so I could download the update over WiFi. Then I got to the office and there was a second update. Oh well!

Bob and Cecil stick around as playable characters, so I guess the days of hunting for Bob and tapping him are over.

In terms of the new level update, we get
Spoiler:
Mrs. Quimby

First quest for that is triggered by
Spoiler:
Kent Brockman

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Thanks for the heads up. I did the event-clearing update this morning, but that was it when I last logged on. Of course, all my people are now tied up for the next 3 hours or so. I'll get to the new level tasks this afternoon.

New in the store:

Spoiler:
-Malibu Stacy Headquarters w/ uh, the Kathleen Turner-voiced creator of the doll (I forget her name) for 165 donuts
-Stacy's Dream House for 55 donuts
-Lisa Lionheart Display for 50 donuts
-Stiletto Sculpture for 40 donuts

I'm hoping Smithers gets a task or two with these!

So I guess this level update is the imminent new stuff that was hinted at in the app store update description. Whew! I was scared there'd be a really quick turnaround into the next event.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

...and there it is, the forced update.

So I got the few extra days of crafting, and I still ended up like 400 DNA short of the Bob sign. Oh well. If I'd spent it on cactus and cane, it'd just end up sitting in my inventory like my castle walls.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Expensive stuff in the game lately. I'm assuming that they decided too many players were stockpiling money?

I'm down under 1mil for the first time in a long time. Between all the money that it's been taking to do the Burns money mountain quest and the new building/character for level 53, which is 1.3 mil, my money surplus is dwindling.

Yeah, money mountain is expensive but nice for XP.

The opera stage animation is awesome.

I'm relearning which characters do eight-hour tasks and with whom.

It's kind of annoying how a lot of these quests have characters who work an unequal number of hours.

Finished the Level.

Finished the money mountain.

Oh, when doing the Level mission I found out that Database was missing. The building was there, but not him. I had to store the building, and bring it back, so he could be available again.

Now I wonder who else may be missing.

Pride Day update just hit. Work hard and play hard with the gay steel mill. I really hope John Waters' character will be available to buy. Zzzzzzap!

Impressive. I'm still on level 8 of the mountain but I mostly avoided it during the event and didn't play much over the weekend.

It's been a while since one of my characters has disappeared... I think.

I've built up enough donuts to get the YCMA or Barbie but since those are permanent, I'll have to take a look at this steel mill and see if it's worth getting.

That's what I got last week. This week I got a Lard Lad, my third.

I'm starting to feel spoiled by these boxes."Another Lard Lad, lame."

I should sell my extra two for the $2,750 they offer.

Hrmm. I cannot seem to get my "Righteousness" rating past one star and I have no criminals or graffiti on the streets. This is stopping me from my five star rating. Is it due to having Sideshow Bob as a character now?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

A while back during one of those seek-and-tap events, I got tired of having little critters running around my town so I stored a bunch of them. I was recently trying to put everyone on 12-hour tasks, but Krusty needed Mr. Tiny so I took him out of storage. Only after that was done did I see that Mr. Tiny is an assignable character. He only has two tasks, but the 12-hour one with Krusty pays out at 200 XP whereas Krusty's eight-hour task pays out 70. That's a lot of blown XP there.

Yeah, I never got around to buying it but now I have two from the box. It produces, though, so I'm keeping them until I run out of room. Other stuff like multiple _ONDAs I have in storage. Should probably sell those.

My Righteousness is still OK but I have a ton of those training walls.

That happened to me a few months ago. Suddenly one day my righteousness plummeted from five stars to none. (Or maybe one?) I have no idea why it did that, but eventually it crept back up to five. I think it took a few weeks or maybe a month for that to happen. It was weird. A glitch maybe?
