Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

If you unlock the Christmas miracle mentioned earlier, don't do the first quest unless you've already finished Burning Wreath of Fire.
Spoiler:
Where you vandalize the attractions.
I'm reading that if you don't wait the BWF quest will disappear.

Yep, now 10 per day, which is still not that many compared to some events. That and the fact that visiting doesn't generate event currency really cuts down the community interaction.

Sucks

That sucks. Tapping merrymakers in neighboring towns is a big part of it, but since they limit the number of visits you can make, you might be able to make up for it with more frequent tapping in your own town. If you have the time, of course.

That sucks. Pretty sure I missed it.

I will drop them all in the water near the boardwalk
I will do them all as nice

I honestly don't know. I haven't crafted anything other than the one ski chalet and the tree lot. I tend to save my resources for the last act (which is why it was so messed up to have the Act 1 items disappear) then see what's most useful. If they don't offer multipliers, I'll just end up getting as many revenue-generating buildings as I can.

Tapping the merrymakers in your own town is definitely better. You only get 1 holly per neighboring town tap, so only 3 per town, you get 3 every merrymaker in your own town you tap so the numbers really shoot up. I don't have many friend towns but am a day ahead of things for festivus comicbook guy because I had a light week at work and could log on every 3-4 hours and tap all my merrymakers and let them refresh frequently. I am bummed I missed the orphans due to working a lot during that time, but hey real life christmas gifts needed paying for.

Nothing quite like opening the game and seeing all your characters standing there idle because you were waiting for a 10-minute task to end three hours ago.

I did get Festivus Comic Book Guy and one mistletoe bonus. I probably won't get another with act 3 starting tomorrow.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I think I'm going to get Festivus Comic Book Guy tonight, no sweat. I did much better during the second act and I think visiting friends towns, even a little bit, helped me a lot more.

I've updated the OP in several ways:
- Updated the Active Players List based on the original list, my friends list, and new invites I made today.
- Spoilerized the old archive lists.
- Took out some dead links.

Appears to still be quite a few of us playing, that's great! I ended up having to delete some DVDTalkers who haven't played in a year or more to make room for more, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people are still active.

See you in Springfield 2016!

A number of people are claiming that there will be no crafting in Act 3. That you should spend all materials by the end of Act 2.

The countdown makes it seem that the crafting ends the same night Act 2 ends.

That would suck. Signals already show that there are no buildings in act 3. Guess I'll try to craft tonight then.

Does anyone know if any of the craft able items are multipliers?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

None of them that I saw had multipliers. The snowcat had a multiplier in past Christmas events, but the current one doesn't. My old ones still have the multiplier. I'd guess they created a separate one for the craftables list so that they weren't giving out a ton of free multipliers again.

I started Act 3 a little after midnight and all craftables in the event menu and present drops are gone.

DOH!

I missed that the 2nd round was ending, and I missed out on the top prize.

There are some buildings. A free one (Playdough factory) and 2 premium ones. I'm surprised that the Ayn Rand school for Tots is not one of the prizes since it was prominently featured on the loading screen of the game.

It's coming later on in the questline:

I find this break from crafting refreshing. Just tapping on bears and following quests. Less stress and initial confusion.

Yeah, I was going on the assumption that we saw the act 2 buildings listed during act 1, but wasn't counting on act 3 being separated from the other two.

And it's nice that the bears are large and non-human (and slow!) for easy tapping.

Kinda odd that neighboring towns still offer tappable buildings in addition to the tappable bears.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Be careful of the buildings, tapping them before the pacifiers run out, will probably lower the amount you get.

Yeah, I'm still tapping the bears but it's hard to steer around the buildings.

Interestingly, the bears are also appearing in dead towns.

Is one of those calendars with the recommended amounts available yet?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Did my first Where's Maggie game. You need to have Maggie free. There are a bunch of different buildings she can land on. Have your sound up to hear her sucking sound when you get close to her. I had to tap-tap-tap-tap all over her to get it to register. Now I'm just waiting for enough pacifiers to get Baby Gerald.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I totally failed at the game in my first try.

I haven't tried again because I keep assigning Maggie to tasks, and her four-hour ones pay out better than her one-hours.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I like this event, but it's suffering from the same thing as other ones in that in the third act, it gets much harder to get the currency.

Weird, I'm way ahead on third act currency than I was on the first two.
