I really need to rearrange my city. I've been just basically just dropping buildings down wherever since I started, and I'm level 29 now. Ugh... probably take hours to do a decent layout.

I was reading TSTO Addicts' speculation about the Valentine's Day event and they had this little nugget:

Might as well, so I have corn growing right now.
Start growing Corn at Cletus’ Farm. I know you might think i’m being crazy BUT last year we were given a task to grow Roses at the Farm. Because this was a forced task whatever you were growing at the time would rapidly auto-complete for you. So if you start growing Corn it’s a great way to earn some extra cash and XP. (FYI this also happened during Easter)
And if for some reason this doesn’t happen, no harm done. Just store Cletus’ farm and the corn you started growing will be delete & you’ll have the farm back.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Picked up the abandoned warehouse for 30 donuts.
Got five donuts from the balloon game.
I think I did the corn trick last year. Question is when the event is going to hit, as I've been cranking out Triffids at a regular rate especially since I now have Witch Marge to speed things up. I'd hate to leave Triffids on the table and start corn a week early when it's just going to auto-finish anyway.

I've seen some suggestions that there won't be a full Valentine's event this year. For past events I've relied on those who speed up the events to report on things like special crops completing the corn early.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I downloaded a big update on Friday night but haven't seen anything yet, making me hope it was future-timed. So I started growing corn. Worst-case scenario is that the event doesn't happen and I... grow corn.

But I think going without a Valentine's event of any kind would be a pretty clear statement that this thing is in EA's rear-view mirror.

Valentines Day is live, have Lisa free. Lots of returning stuff. I spent $6 to get enough donuts to get Brandine and start my Spunkler brood. 100 donuts for 4 characters is a good deal. Make sure and log in on Valentines Day for a free gift according to TSTOA. Nothing to collect by the way.

This is a fun event so far. Glad to have another community activity. I only realized it when the notifications of visitors changed, but I had to cycle through the stages to get there myself.
Homer appears to have only one rod-generating activity (eight hours) while sidekick Millhouse (who arrived before the event) has none. The radioactive rods appear to pop up sporadically (perhaps tied to the HQ upgrades).
Hope you enjoy Brandine! She has some good animations. You probably already know that the brood characters

I enjoy it when a new event starts and towns that were abandoned long ago briefly become tappable again and it pays off not to have unfriended them.
I'm easily amused by the sight of Wiggum patrolling and the other officers running around, and the burglars from this event sneaking right past them.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
It was weird this morning. I cycled through my neighbors and was able to tap the phones for each one, but only in three non-consecutive Springfields could I tap the criminals. A couple of hours later I figured I'd give it another try, cycled through all of my friends, and was able to tap everything that time. A nice little bonus for today and I'm glad the game straightened itself out.
Yep, I like that, too. For a second there I think, "my friend started playing again?!" and then I realize it's because of the event.

Boy, the alarm when you get when a neighbor visits is extremely jarring. I thought I fixed it by turning off push notifications in the game *and* in the Android app manager, but the latter must've reset when I restarted my phone this morning. I guess unchecking that box will be a daily ritual.

For the ones that are behind, there's currently an exploit, that you can use when you get the second prize. It's not big, but it can help you a little.

Too late for me.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
So there's definitely a limit on how many criminals I can tap in my neighbors' towns, as they've done in most recent events. However, I haven't yet noticed a limit on how many buildings/phones I can tap on. I am tapping more criminals than buildings just because of dead towns, but it kinda seems like I'd have noticed that by now since I usually go through about half my neighbors at a time.
New prizes unlock end of day tomorrow, which is good since I should get my third today. I'm a little confused by the first tab that says the event ends in 29 days, but the fourth tab says those prizes unlock in 29 days. At first I thought it meant you could still continue to earn the first-tab prizes for the duration of the event, but I don't see how that would work since we're earning pie bombs next, and I assume we wouldn't still be able to earn rods.
And yeah, I could look it up, but it wouldn't really change anything so I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Sorry for visiting you, DJLinus.

I think you will continue to earn Rods until you unlock ClownFace and then you'll start earning the Pies or whatever the next currency is. I can't see them not letting you unlock him for the duration of the event as I imagine unlocking him plays into unlocking the next currency. Just speculation on my part though.

And no worries. Thanks for the visit. I now know how to shut y'all up.
Still, what was EA thinking with that loud, annoying alarm?I think you will continue to earn Rods until you unlock ClownFace and then you'll start earning the Pies or whatever the next currency is. I should be getting Clownface tonight or tomorrow. These prizes have been coming swiftly, which is a nice change of pace. I've really been enjoying this event. Plus it's nice to finally have Plopper. (He's totally worth it.)

I think it's bigger than the regular prison. I have one of the superheroes chasing a felon right now, but I'm not really sure of the point yet. I'll find out, I guess.
