Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I won't use the cheat methods because it's stealing. That's no judgment on any of you who do it. It's more of a statement about my personal ethic. Everything I would want that's out of my reach is exactly that, a "want." And if I truly, truly wanted them, I would save up my money for the $99 maximum donut purchase, even wait for a sale. But as much as I want premium stuff out of my reach, it hasn't been enough for me to spend money and it hasn't been enough for me to get them by other means. Between the two options, I'll probably save the money up. Maybe I could plant corn and save a dollar a day during its growth.
Which reminds me, less than 10 days until my next corn harvest is ready!

I've won over 100 donuts so far during this event from 3 saucers and several treat bags. I would say that they've been very generous personally.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I officially have enough treat bag currency to get both The Grand Pumpkin and Rigellian Queen right now. It would, unfortunately, put the Donut Torture Device out of reach. A little over six days to see if I can get all three. Let's do this!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I'm currently at 8600 with a ton of bags so I feel like I'm in really good shape. One more gold bag prize then I'll be working on the ghost. So I think I'll prioritize crafting the spooky walls as multipliers rather than the other items that generate in-event items, though I'm sure they will convert to currency afterward.
I haven't used cheats either, though I've been tempted. I feel like there's enough to do even if I can't get all the stuff I want, and I'd rather not risk getting in trouble.
The Grand Pumpkin has an awesome animation. I think that's all it does, but there you go.
Speaking of corn, I sprung for Witch Marge during this event. When it's over, is it best to use her to speed up crops? Not exactly sure how she works.

Yeah, I think Tapped Out is good at giving you free donuts. You have to play the events, tap a lot, etc. so you really have to earn them. I haven't bought donuts in a long time and I've spent almost 300 donuts in the last 3 months.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
In-game update came with Matt Groening, aka The Creator, with a storyline. Homer's animation is funny, though I think it's the same we saw in the Game of Thrones parody last month.
I've gotten a few more free donuts in the last few months than usual and it's been nice, though I wouldn't say it's super-duper generous. One of the best ways to get free donuts? Get caught up on the Friend Points prizes and continue tapping through all friends. I've finally caught up with some of you who were earning donuts this way to now getting some donuts this way, too. It's weird, but immediate gratification is something I have way too much of in my life and playing Tapped Out with patience is probably good for me!

I added Dexter Douglas | screengeeks, updated the active and inactive players lists in the OP. There are a few new players within the last month as well as people who have stopped playing in the last month and even people who have started playing again in the last month so take a look.

Wow, you guys have been a lot luckier than me then. I've gained 9 donuts during the entire event at least three of which came from tapping aliens, rest came from bags. I've been a lot luckier in MPQ than some of you so I can't complain too much. I'd kill for 100 donuts from ufos!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I'm torn and looking for a little advice. I'm at measley level 12, so I'm still playing through the main storyline. I've got just under $30K saved up and can finish up the last bit of the nuclear plant or I can keep socking it away for the writers' room to go the Futurama route. Is there a significant advantage to finishing the plant first? If not, I'm thinking about going Futurama.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I have only the last prize to go, but still 4000 probes away.
I was slacking off on the friend visits, stopping after I didn't earn probes anymore. But today I kept going and got a donut!
Yeah, the nuclear plant will unlock some tasks but no need to get it right away.

I'm not going to get the last item this tome either. I'm still like 2000 away from the diet sign. I just can't get enough items each day it seems. I haven't even really built anything except the spooky house. I'm not even sure what to try for next. I've felt kind of lost during this event and haven't really enjoyed it as much.

I just now completed building the writers room. Heads up that there's a 24 hour Homer task right after doing so, so keep him free if you want to get it done sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I got trapped by sending Homer to impress rubes with his strength so he was tied to the house and neither he or the house can be put away. What a random task I chose to my disadvantage.
I think I'm just going to start keeping Homer free from now on and/or never send him or Lisa to the house again unless it's for a quest. This sort of thing keeps happening to me.

The event really rewards constant activity--tapping and restarting the kids--and the grem-aliens are too scarce to really involve community interaction. Of the prizes, the spooky house, tribe hut, and pumpkin house will all generate more items in the event, but the build is really slow--24 hours each for not that many items. I'm sure they'll produce dollars after the event (like last year's pumpkin house did), so there's that. For now, I'm focusing on spooky walls since they're multipliers--only 0.05%, but it's something. Sometime soon I'll probably do some math to figure out how to burn off the rest of my items.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
It's becoming increasingly apparent that I won't be able to craft any of the cool stuff in the next 4 days. Am I just better off sinking everything into walls so I get a better long term benefit?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
After being ahead for a while, I'm 400 down from where I need to be today. Not being able to tap during the day Monday-Thursday hurt.
I just want Burns alien and the donut torture machine, but I'm about 150 short on candy bars for that, so it might not happen.

2300 away from UBO and I got another 30 donuts from UFOs. At 97 donuts now. Trying to decide if I should buy the mutant rabbit, or alien 51.

73 fences from getting the Rigellian Queen without detracting from the fences I need for the Donut Torture Device.
Just hit 10,310 long protein strings and Alien Burns is my past prize at 14,000-something. I think I'll be fine so please drop your gremaliens eggs on someone who needs them. Who needs them? I'll drop mine, next round I have some.
Still ~450 chocolate bars short of Grand Pumpkin AND Donut Torture Device. May uave to use a little donut spending to supplement or maybe spend some on the weekend candy sales.

Woo hoo! I got the UBO late last night. His voice kills me.
So now if you drop a gremalien in my Springfield I'll do my best not to tap him. (Though at this point it's a reflex. Ha.) Also I've banked some. If anyone wants me drop some in their town, just ask.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Of course that will also depend on your treat distribution. I thought my walls would be limited by my number of jack-o-lanterns, but I've run out of candy corn first. I might have to go to spooky houses with my remainders.
