Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I just got 30 donuts for blowing up a spaceship and another for popping an alien.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm not going to make it with the protein strains but I got Hugo and his spooky house along with the rigellian queen and clockwork Moe so I'm pretty happy.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I just hit 6,000 and got the DIE billboard. But c'mon, you know it's...

Spoiler:
DIET, right?

The dialogue with Homer (whom you don't need to have free) is predictable but very funny!

Can't believe I'm nearly two days ahead of schedule, wow!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I just emptied like 40 silver bags until I had enough candy bars to buy a tribal hut. Reminds me of trick or treating as a kid.

I should just dump all my bags but I'm not sure what to buy.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I guess I'm at the point where I need to decide ... Rigelian Queen or Donut Feeding Machine. I can only afford one. Any advice?

Rigellian Queen is awesome looking, donut machine is really pretty lame. Queen also has a questline.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The Donut Machine is cool and doesn't take up too much space, but if you use it, Homer's going to be stuck on it for 36 hours.

The Rigelian Queen is a giant decoration, so if you're pressed for space, it's not a good option, plus it's not as cool to look at as the Donut Machine. She does provide a 20 hour task Kang and Kodos, so if you have both of them it's a nice deal.

Matt Groening looks to be coming to the game in the next update. Tapped Out posted on Facebook that "The Creator" is coming.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, I was going to mention the space issue created by the queen, but I think I prefer its look to the donut machine. Taking up Homer for 36 hours is not really a big deal since he's not really doing anything during this event anyway. The queen triggers
Spoiler:
one 20-hour quest, but I don't think it's really necessary to progress in the event so I'm kind of sorry I didn't put it off till I did Kang's other quests. It's nice if that will be a constant task, though 20 hours isn't really a critical need.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

A 20-hour task for Kang or a 36-hour task for Homer. Neither sounds particularly exciting. I'll probably go with the donut machine just because I remember that episode ("I don't understand -- James Coco went mad in 15 minutes!") and I never saw the Rigellian Queen episode (was there even one?)

The donut machine should generate donuts.

TSTO is the single stingiest freemium game not made by GLU in existence, true story. There will never be a free ride in this game unless you hack.

And in cheating news.... I'm seeing in several places that TinyCo is cracking down on the use of hacks in Family Guy. They are flagging the accounts and dropping clams to 250.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

In Family Guy you are guaranteed at least one free clam per day though. Plus you get them pretty frequently for completing tasks. They aren't exactly fast and loose with them but they are pretty generous.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Problem with the Family Guy game though is that things are even more expensive than in The Simpsons game. And in the Family Guy events it is impossible to get all of the items without using clams.

I don't really care if TinyCo closes out my Family Guy game or does away with all my donuts. I'll probably bail on that game at some point anyway. It's nowhere near as well-executed as Tapped Out.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

If you don't have the "DIE-" billboard yet and want to see it's animation, I've placed it in the home landing screen of my Springfield so come and visit (and leave some gremaliens!). Also would like some feedback on my new high school configuration. I want to work on it still, but I think it's pretty funny.

Just crossed 7,000 long protein strings, so I'm still around two days ahead, which is a first for me and a miracle. Thanks, middle-of-the-night leg pain! I knew you'd be good for something.

For me, it's either the Donut Torture Device or the Grand Pumpkin: thoughts on that?

The crossover currency for the DTD and TGP are candy bars. DTD needs 500 candy bars and TGP needs 350 and I'm at 338. I think I'll be very, very lucky if I can get another 162 to earn the DTD, let alone 512 so I can get both. Meanwhile, the crossover currency for the DTD and Rigellian Queen are fences and I''m at exactly 400, so if I wanted the RQ, I could get it right now, no sweat. But that means building up 200 new fences for the DTD. Thing is, I bet I can get the extra 200 fences easily because I seem to get plenty of those. Here's my prediction:
1. Most Likely: Donut Torture Device only
2. Perhaps Likely: Donut Torture Device and Rigellian Queen
3. Least Likely: Donut Torture Device, Rigellian Queen, and The Grand Pumpkin

We shall see...

story:

Just dropped 10 Grem-Aliens in your town. Happy Tapping!

I like the barbed wire around the high school. I did something similar with Lugash's gym. Not sure how I fel about the "torture" devices though. I like your setup behind Herman's a lot with the concrete walls and barbed wire fences as a sort of survivalist compound.

Got this message when I logged into my Family Guy Game:

Spoiler:

And with that, so long Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff. The game was buggy and sloppily put together. Won't miss it at all.

Yeah it's really starting to piss me off. I know both games in essence are there to make us buy donuts/clams so they can make money, but man Family Guy is soon non-transparent about it. Basically Simpsons gives you more of a chance to get items/characters without having to spend money. I like the humor of Family Guy a lot more so in that regard it's really disappointing.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

From what I've read online about the intent behind the games there is a fundamental difference: Tapped Out is mainly for advertising and cross-promotion with the show whereas The Quest For Stuff is revenue-generating.

Sure, EA wants to make money off the game too but you can tell that isn't the main focus. Not only are there limited premium items and characters (in the grand scheme of things), but you can actually earn items during events without donuts. Contrast that with TinyCo literally making it impossible to get even "free" items without rushing tasks with clams and it's obvious the companies and developers have different goals for their product. This is made most obvious when Tapped Out explicitly references using cheats to get donuts. Obviously they don't care and that makes me appreciate the game more.

Tapped Out is the far superior product anyway, but then again The Simpsons has always been far superior to Family Guy anyway, so it doesn't come as a big surprise. The only thing The Quest For Stuff had over Tapped Out was all of the characters being voiced.

EDIT: For what it's worth, I recognize that it's their product and they can do whatever they want to people who used hacks. I don't necessarily blame them, but it does impact my interest in the game.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Some people are claiming that TinyCo punished them as cheaters even though they paid for the clams.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

That right there is part of the reason I'm so hesitant to use the free donut cheat subreddit community. I've worked hard on my Springfield and I'm afraid to lose it.
