IT'S SO GREEN.

Reminder to newer players: If you leave out your trees, elf house, present depot, etc., they now pay out cash.

Yeah, it's an app store update. Gradually switching over all my houses to non-holiday.

This morning I earned two more spins through gift bags and 8-hour hunting tasks.

Both money, both on either side of the Snow Monster. The last one was so, so close.

So I'm letting it go. I'm going to go download the update now and I'm cool with it. The thing I really wanted was Claus Co. because it's a building and I like having three skyscrapers side-by-side in downtown.
Disappointing, but thanks for the entertaining play by play. The snow monster certainly doesn't do anything so it's not a big loss. He's just kind of fun. I haven't put him in storage yet. During the whacking event, I stored all those funzos and Aztecs and other distracting stuff, but I've gotten some of them out again.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Glad people dug the play by play, despite the ending. And the sequel.

Did the update and man, everything is so green! It almost looks... fake, plastic. Maybe it's because I'm in Minnesota and shoveling snow all the time these days, but the streets and land being so clean just makes the game feel so... not lived in, you know? It's more like Star Trek than Star Wars now!

Yikes, I have a big house farm to turnover in terms of Christmas decorations. Well played, EA, well played... And the melting snowmen is a nice touch.

Bring on Level 38!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I had three more spins last night and finally landed on the last thing I needed, the snow god (a mutiplier!). When the wheel stopped on him my app quit and I freaked out for a second, but when I opened it back up it was still on the wheel and it gave me the item. Now I've got a little puddle earning me some extra cash.

I currently have 108 donuts saved up.. If I can manage to get a little bit more, what is going to be the best thing that I can buy to get the best bang for their worth?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

What premiums do you have right now?

Also, has anyone been able to tap my Channel News 6 building? It has a completed task that gives me 2100 XP. Just wondering if I should leave it untapped.

The only premium items that I have now are the ones I've either gotten in a mystery box, through game play, or on the Christmas wheel. I have not spend donuts on any item since I started playing back in 2012, I think right around Halloween.

It was crazy, guys! I was watching a TV show and it had cameos by all the characters in Tapped Out! Homer, Comic Book Guy, Kumiko... it was like the game coming to life!

I lost a crucial wheel item in another game when the app crashed, and I lost it.

Do you have any other premium items? I'd say the basic choice is between buildings and multipliers. My own preference is buildings with characters, though I realize that multipliers lead to more donuts so I have bought a few of those. The only premium building I've bought is the cracker factory. I've been eyeing the Duff Brewery, though that one sticks in my craw a bit since I was going to get that along with the Springfield sign in the Black Friday deal, but it expired before I made the purchase. (On the good side, if I'd bought that I probably wouldn't have bought the cracker factory and had donuts in reserve like I have now.) If I don't get that, I'm looking at the disco or the community center since they're not too expensive and have characters. Another thing to consider is whether they unlock tasks. I haven't really missed the tasks unlocked by the restaurant or Lard Lad, but I did get the bumblebee man because he unlocks a 24-hour task at Channel 8.

I'm still learning to make use of the premium building. Sometimes I assign a character to a normal task without realizing a premium task will earn 50% more.

I just tapped it once--let me know if something good happens. I gave up a tap on your boardwalk tile for this.

And man, your town looks nice with so much space. I guess I need to buy more real estate since I kinda let things clutter up over the holiday event.

I got Squeaky Voice Teen from a mystery box.
I have Barney and the Bowl-A-Rama, which I think is a premium item that they gave out in regular game play or as a special event.
I got Mr. Plow and Plow King skins for Homer and Barney from the Christmas wheel
I got the Snow Simpsons, Dog, Cat, and Snow God statues.
Claus Co from the wheel
Snow monster from the wheel

I think those are all premium items and all that I have.

When you are looking at a characters task list, does it denote if one is a premium task? I don't think I've noticed anything.. but then again I don't have any actual premium buildings except the Bowling alley and the task it gives Barney is an odd length task.

Generally a premium task for a location will have an odd task time, like 3hrs or 16hrs... not just the normal 1-2-4-8-12-24hrs tasks.

Off the top of my head, some include: Homer can be a be a pin monkey for 16hrs (Bowlerama), Ned bowls for 20 hrs (Bowlerama), Martin can go stargazing for 6hrs (observatory), Lisa goes to a MESNA meeting for 3hrs (gazebo)...

---

I'd also recommend the Aztec Theater... No character attached; it adds tasks for Bart, CBG (both premium tasks) and SVT, plus it turns over in-game cash. (Also less than 100 donuts.)

If you need multipliers, I think the current bang-for-your donuts are like the jet bike, the nuclear bomb, the devil float and the various vans (news, police).

OK, so you can really take your pick among the items. Your choice, but I think the buildings with characters are much more fun than the multipliers. Since you're still building up the donuts, you might look at Krustylu Studios (140) or the community center (150). I just checked and Duff and Stu are fairly expensive. I forget how much I paid for the cracker factory, but it has a character and also unlocks the food trucks, which help with gluttony.

It doesn't, which is one reason I missed it at first. I can send Kirk to advertise condos for eight hours and get 70 XP, or send him to the cracker factory for 105. If I'm assigning quickly, I won't even notice the different amounts. I might not even notice he has two different eight-hour tasks.

How much XP did you receive?

It's basically a service to the community , the tile and the Channel News, if it works.

After I posted, I realized I forgot to notice that. I just tapped it again and got 2 XP. Then I tapped your tile and got 915. Channel News sucks.

Level 38 is here... Need Wiggum free (that's surprising) to start the questline.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Random observation: Why doesn't The Yes Guy have a Costington's task? The character and store were introduced in the same episode, and the two were introduced in the same game event. It seems odd to not have them connected in the game.

Level 38, yay!

Started the Homer mission, and for some reason I don't receive the prompt for the second task. Hmmm.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I like that we're getting more boats. Doing a little clean-up work on my town. Also trying to find a little out-of-the-way corner for all of my seasonal multipliers like melted snowmen or multipliers I think are lame like the golden calf so I still get the bonus while my town looks nice and neat.

Speaking of multipliers, I read on TSTOTopix that to find out your multiplier bonus, tap Gulp'N'Blow. Since it gives $100 every hour, the amount of cash over $100 is the multiplier bonus. Thing is, that means my bonus is 45% and that seems way high!

I'll have to go do some snooping to see if there's a list of what all can be put on the boardwalk. For example, I never would have thought to put the circus tent on there except I saw a picture of someone doing that.
