Finally.

Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
That Battlefield 4 presentation was much better than the earlier one.

Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
As I said in the E3 thread, I thought the BF4 clip was fine, until the guy called in the airstrike with a tablet. I do not like that at all.

Haven't had a chance to check everything out from today but one that sticks out...Titanfall...looks like a real badass....Ghost Recon/Future Soldier meets Mech Warrior. A real stunner.

Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
Just preordered the Xbox One at my local Gamestop, one block from home, really useful for a midnight launch.
I had to pay a $100 deposit!!! If not because I'm 100% sure I'm buying that console, and I'm sure GS will have a nice trade in deal with the Xbox 360, and because I'm rich too, of course, I wouldn't do it. I didn't even ask what number I was in the list. |
Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
You know, something no one's brought up yet is all the waiting around we're going to be doing when we pop in a new game. From mandatory instals, to downloads from the cloud and updates and instals, etc, etc. It's like we're gonna have to put in a new game, make and eat dinner, then maybe be able to play it that same day you bought it.

360 updates were always very fast, esp compared to the PS3, so I hope that stays. |
Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
I thought since it's all running off the cloud there would be no need for Updates and big installs. You could just pop in the disc and everything will have already been updated through the cloud?

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xboxone/what-it-is Play without the wait. With Xbox One, you can start playing immediately as games install. And updates install seamlessly in the background, so your games and entertainment won’t be interrupted. |
Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
Yep, they've said you can start playing the second it starts installing.

Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
I'd like to see a SE HALO Xbox One ....the last Halo on the 360 was stunning...cannot even imagine what it'll be on XO.
Where was "Destiny"...did it even get mentioned? |
Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
I hope they'll be a Halo 2 anniversary for XBOX one.
Destiny will probably be in the PS4 show. |

Maybe nobody's talking about it because it's not going to be an issue. The Xbox One is going to allow for "instant" playing of the game as the game and updates install in the background.

Yeah, apparently there is more to the right
Spoiler for size Spoiler:
With that hidden camera lens, I can also see some company being formed to make covers for the console - I would definitely buy one if they fit good. |

I gotta agree with this. It looks like a fun game, but it doesn't look like Dead Rising... like they focus-tested in with teenage boys and as a result 'mainstreamed' it into a more 'market-friendly' title. It has the same color palette and overall 'look' of a lot of other stuff out there. It also seems like firearms play a bigger role this time. For me, the most fun I had in the first two was doing silly stuff like putting Lego heads on zombies and bashing them with stuffed animals.

Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
UbiSoft conference is boring.
|
Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
Just finished watching the main conference, overall impressed with it. Still will not be getting it for probably about 2 years until say a bundle w/game(s) of a price of $400. No need with the backlog I already have and the fact that renting might not be an option with the new system. And lastly because I still have my current tv a Sony XS36955. Until I get my flat screen of around 60-5", then I'll consider getting this to truly appreciate and that's where my next funds are going to. Now say if there was a deal of of an XO being included with a plasma purchase, might get it sooner ;)

Pre-ordered mine at Amazon. So it releases on a Saturday?

I preordered but may or may not cancel. |

I'm assuming that's a placeholder date. So far, the official word is just "November", so Amazon hedged their bets and chose the last possible day in November. When an official date is announced (unless it does wind up being 11/30!), they'll adjust it.

Re: Xbox One: This Thread Requires An Always On Internet Connection
It'll be interesting to see if anyone develops a Disconnect for Xbox One. Plug it in and it spoofs internet and Kinect. No necessity to mod the Xbox itself. Turn Xbox One into the Stealthbox.
