ok, that usb way sounds absurdly stupid and difficult. i'll try the update on friday the normal way. if it's a PITA, I'll do it the other way.

So, there are two different files, and you can only use one of them. They're both 1.2GB. You MUST turn on your XO first and confirm the existing firmware version so you know which of the two files to use.

square trade's is $35 for 2 years, which is slightly cheaper if you prorate it for the years you are getting it, but then you aren't dealing a company who didn't make the machine.

That was a fantastic video. This is the Major that everyone fell in love with(?) all those years ago long before he was a corporate stooge. Just a normal guy talking shop. Fantastic bit of viral marketing too.
