You're a mod - you have to get both Next-Gen consoles to eliminate bias. ;)

. . .

Take this with many grains of salt, but Digital Trends is reporting on a rumor that "US Xbox One buyers may receive a free game after all".

It depends on where this is coming from. If it's coming directly from the warehouse here in town that Amazon has, they almost always use Ontrac, which comes super early for me. If it's coming from somewhere else (Vegas, usually), UPS delivers and I get it in the afternoon.

If it's not Watch Dogs, DR3 or maybe to a lesser extent COD, I'd probably just sell the game that comes as a pack-in.

Madden seems like the most likely candidate, due to the new NFL agreement w/ Microsoft. A digital download would make the most sense, as well.

More than likely the free game would be a digital version.

The fact that he has the highest post count in both the PS4 and Xbox One thread probably says something.

Good point! I'll put in a request for a release of premium member subscription funds, should get me about $30 off the full retail price.

Does anyone actually think Microsoft will throw in a free game just because? Why would they cut into any potential sales of that game?

because if microsoft is afraid of the $100 difference in price pushing consumers away, a free game makes people more likely to overlook the increased price.

I don't want to get people's hopes up too high.

If it's something like Madden, it probably won't matter too much since the bulk of the sales are from the previous gen. If it's a Microsoft Game Studios published game, then Microsoft takes the hit anyway so it doesn't matter and they don't sacrifice their preference on including the Kinect. And if it's a game that actually uses the Kinect, even better for them (i guess)

Microsoft needs to win them over. They don't need to do that here. Also, other countries get weird bundles all the time.

MAYBE they will throw in an XBLA download code but a retail game that will also be sitting next to every system on the shelf? No chance.

I hope we don't get FIFA as a freebie, because I don't want my identity stolen.

Mine got stolen without me playing FIFA :(
I think it was from the one damn time I tried Madden and its card game.

All I know is that I put in an old FIFA game a couple weeks ago, not even related to cards and all that BS, and two Silver Members not on my friends list sent me messages asking me something in internet speak about free trial codes. Ripped that disc out of the drive as fast as I could.
