Re: Bungie - Destiny

Yup, I ran into those hallowed knights.

Also, how is everyone making money in this game? I feel like it happens rather slowly as I'm approaching level 8. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm a little disappointed that more people don't want to join fireteams from the tower. I think I had one person accept a request, and I always try to send requests to people in my same level.

I would be creeped out if a random did an invite to do a mission just as I don't understand why I sometimes get friend requests during games from people I don't know/interact with

just seems to make more sense to just launch the strike mission and pair up with whatever people are randomly generated

I would team up with people from here
I found it odd that in the Crucible games I've been in no one is using mics

I thought in a game built around co-op people would be more willing to jump into a strike team and explore the world.

I'm not referring to the forced strike team missions.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I've soured a bit on the game. I thought the idea of random people playing along side you was going to be a big part of it. But instead I found on the story missions that your "partners" disappear when you get to certain parts of the level, and you're back on your own with "respawns disabled" and stuck back with a checkpoint system. there were 4 of us all together, and then we went through a door and boom, everyone else disappeared.

Silly. If you're going to make a single player mode, make it truly single player. Don't make it some odd hybrid.

Were they in your fireteam, or was it just 4 of you kind of running around together?

Randoms. I guess it's possible a fireteam would have made a difference, but I think the story missions are set up so that you have to do them solo at some point.

Exactlly.....Fireteam Members don't vanish (those with their names in Green above their heads) unless they bail or get booted. Anyone not on the Fireteam (name in Blue) will vanish when you are in the story. Free-roam doesn't matter

Friend told me that the beta is down and will be down for the next 2 days as they prepare for the Xbox beta. Any truth to that? If so, then it just lessened the amount of "exclusivity" time.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

To be fair, it was announced before the PS4 beta even started. Hopefully it means more content when it resumes.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

For those that signed up for the unplayable XO beta, check your bungie.net account. You should have three codes available to you now.

Oh, and the beta is LIVE (again) now, apparently.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Dumb question:
Is the beta co-op only, or can you play solo if you want? Is the final game supposed to be this way as well?

you can play solo
you may come to parts in a map where you do see other players engaged in activities but you do not need to interact at all

Re: Bungie - Destiny

The Beta is definitely more "difficult"/more going on than the Alpha, which is cool. No sure if I'd pay for that $150 collector's version, but might get that $80 one. Anyone think that one is worth it?

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I haven't noticed ramped up difficulty from the Alpha to the Beta
I think the Limited is a fair deal based on the "limited" info we have but since most retailers appear to be sold out on that version for PS4 I'll probably just go with the standard and purchase the DLC later as wanted

I assume the $80 one you mention is the digital only version .... not interested in non physical here

I do but I like physical media so I preordered the $99 version. I don't need the Ghost replica letter or relics. I was happy with the preorder DLC and season's pass.

call me unimpressed from a visual standpoint. it looks marginally better than what a 360 can do in my opinion. however, it is the gameplay that matters and all that jazz
