Hit level 30 and open the golden chest with one of my keys and got this awesome purple weapon called Binary Aegis pistol. Does 709x2 corrosive damage. With my gun turret and my weapon I made short work on that boss BNK3R. Loving it.

And, gone.

So these last three codes; missed the first one because I was at work, missed the second one because I was out then missed the last one because I was asleep. I swear, they make it nearly impossible for someone with any sort of life to get these.

I take back my complaints about the slag guns I got. The level 34 machine gun is pretty awesome, just shoots forever.

Is there a rarity difference between the different colored purples or is that just an oddity?

Rats...only able to grab 1 of the last 4 codes....

I think what I'll do is use one for Maya (Level 34)...hand it down to the Mechromancer(Level 32) who will hand it down to Gunserker (Level 17) later on. And when Maya hits say 40-41 open another chest and hand it down again.


FWIW...I ignored the slag weapons myself but found using a Slag pistol w/640 damage followed by a Acid weapon especilly on Mechs is devastating. I keep at least one in my 4-weapon rotation all the time now.

Well, I got the last code, but all it gave me were a couple of pistols, decent ones, but I already have pistols that were better, not to mention, I never fucking use pistols - does anyone?

Yep. I found pistols to be some of the very best weapons in the game.

Yeah, I had been avoiding them too until I got a nice rocket launcher and found launching a volley of slag rockets before rolling in guns blazing was pretty awesome.

Seriously... I'm playing Commando, and I love pistols more than anything. But they have to be rapid-fire pistols, preferably with elemental effects

Yup, pistols are terrific. I've found I really have to test them to see though, it seems like the fire rate isn't a proper indicator of how they act.

Yeah, the fire rate stat is useless. I especially hate the ones that say "Fires as fast as you can pull the trigger"; I can't pull the trigger fast enough to make that worthwhile. The TMPs seem to be the best as far as being rapid-fire.

I didn't until I used a key and it gave me a fully automatic pistol that did 2200 damage. had no recoil and reloaded in less than a second. plus it had like a 20 round clip. it was better than any SMG I had or could get. i used that sucker for about 6 or 7 lvls in the 30's.

I took down the boss in "Where Angels Fear to tread" BNK-3R with my pistol!

I have a pretty good purple SMG that I got from a golden key. It's a Bandit with a clip of 85 and does corrosive damage. Really tears through the Hyperion Loaders near the end of the game.

My nephew [Zer0 lvl 31] and I [Axton lvl 31] are on our first play-through... so we were doing a Caustic Caverns side mission earlier today and when we were returning back to the transfer at the beginning, a CHUBBY popped up and he killed him and it dropped Large Bunny lvl 25 8,195 Damage Explosive Tediore Hippity Hippity

Only thing that sucked was since he killed Chubby he only got the achievement and I didn't which is BS 'cause I killed Donkey Mong and we both got the Achievement.

I guess it depends if you're more interested in finishing the game or reaching lvl 50. You don't need to slow down if you're not having problems... but there's probably only 2 main quests after that point. I believe the final boss is in the lvl 30-32 range.
