fwiw, i used a golden key just now after beating the scarlett DLC. i don't know if it doesn't keep up with you or what, but the rocket launcher i got was horrible compared to what i had. i have a 32k x 3 launcher and it gave me one about 60k for damage. granted, it was purple, but it wasn't anywhere close to mine. it did have really good load and accuracy, though.

As far as rocket launchers go, sometimes the ones with less damage are better. Especially if the reload is fast. I had one where the damage was average, and it only held 3 rounds for the magazine, but the reload was only like 1 second. And it was Tediore so you threw it when it reloaded (which I'm not a fan of except for on rocket launchers because the rounds do so much more damage. It's basically a free rocket). That thing was awesome.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

so i heard the rumor of this and tested it last night. A good way to level up a new character (if you don't want to play through the story again, which after a few chars is understandable) is to:

Spoiler:
have a character in the Tiny Tina quest with Flesh-Stick. Then just have the low level person stay in the cave restarting the quest and the other person keep killing flesh-stick. I took a level 2 character into a game (that was in TVH mode) and my friend was one shotting flesh-stick with rockets, me gaining about 5k a kill, that took less than 3 secons to do. got to lvl 14 in about 3 minutes, until we broke the game killing him too fast

so i'll probably stop where i'm at, but hey, its nice to know for testing out guys/going for achievements

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

started TVHM last night. found it much easier than my first playthrough (played until i defeated flynt). i started at level 34 though so i might've been a little high but it seemed all chars were right around my level or higher.

only tough part was killing that bullymong and rider on the southern shelf.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Okay, I just got to Opportunity (I'm level 25), and holy shit, what a drastic jump in difficulty! I pretty much cleared everything before going there, and things were actually kind of a breeze, but now I keep getting pummeled by a huge gang of robots.

So to take a break and possibly level up some, I tried the DLC, and that's even tougher! I guess it starts at whatever level your at. So I was at 25, taking on missions, levels that were around 22, and now I'm going against pirates that are 26. I killed the first boss, but barely. And I guess the missions stay at whatever level you are when you activate them, so I started a bunch of missions on the DLC, at 25, and I guess I'll go back when I'm a little higher, so I can actually have a fighting chance.

I hated Opportunity. I had to keep running to an ammo vendor to get more ammo.

Try to use a corrosive weapon in opportunity. It should be more effective against the robots.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

yeah i pretty much solely used incendiary and corrosive weapons in playthrough one with occasional explosive. always corrosive on the robots. anything with a yellow health bar.

Siren, and phaselock is no use because I'm getting bombarded from all sides.

But my problem isn't so much taking things out (my guns are good), but staying alive. Seems like ALL of my shield gets depleted with just one hit - to give you an idea; I got "second chance" 10x in a row, which just proves that my guns are fine, but my shield/health is weak. And the enemies in the DLC are even worse.

Of the top of my head, around 1200, and I have a thing that ups it by 24%, it does corrosive damage and recharges normal, not slow, not fast. It is a "white" item, but it has the highest stats of all the other shields I've come across.

Opportunity was a bit of a bitch for everyone I think...you get hit from so many directions...I would look for an absorb shield...try to get one over 25% absorb...that is 25% damage reduction from guns as long as your shield is up...or an adaptive shield which also adds to your health...the other thing that fucks you up there is the RPG loaders...the worst enemies in the game. No matter how much higher level or what shield you have they seem to one shot you. I found that rushing them was best...keeps them from hitting you with rockets..

This may not be what you want to do, because some find it annoying, but what I basically did when I felt under powered, was go back to sanctuary and check all the vending machines...then I would save and quit and reload...after a few times I always seemed to find something a little better.

gotta take the arms off the rpg loaders quick. sniper rifle to the joint works well.
