i am shocked at how much trouble i am having with this game solo. i am usually very good a difficult games, but this one is kicking my butt. Maybe it is because I haven't played FPS' on a regular basis since last year. Maybe I am just extremely rusty. I die all the freaking time

If you're playing solo, I'd advise doing every available sidequest in order to level as much as possible before taking on the final mission.

i do every side mission i have before i do the story mission. i'm usually a couple levels ahead of the story mission level.

I'm trying to finish today, so I stopped doing side quests. This weekend I got the Bane weapon and it's too powerful. Google it if you want to know, but basically you don't need too much strategy at the end if using that gun.

I'm not surprised that some are finding it a bit of a challenged...gearbox said so about the game before being released; more challenges, more enemies, harder enemies and so on. All the trailers we saw proved it so.
One thing I have noticed is keeping your weapon stash up to date as much as possible. I'm finding I may come across something really good only to let it go a few levels later. At best...a gun 5-6 levels below max is kept no matter what it is.

I dunno how I'm feeling about the mechromancer so far, I need to look at the skill trees a bit more. I was hoping Deathtrap would of been an always available pet, and maybe have some sort of big damage active ability. Instead it's basically a mobile sentry gun.

I think the Anarchy ability is really where it's going to be at, there's not really much to upgrade DT, the middle tree looks terrible.

I love special skills that act as a distraction so you can kill shit. I will probably check her out.

Yeah, Anarchy is definitely going to be worth a try. I can see why she wasn't one of the main characters, seems like they are trying out some ideas with her.

Does she come with any achievements? Probably not since the characters typically only have the one related to their skill. If she does, be careful running with her quickly in case the servers aren't ready to award it. This happens time and time again on XBL, haven't heard of PSN or Steam being so mis-managed.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
I hurried up, trying to finish the game, and was around level 27 when I started the last 3 story missions. So all my missions were though when I started them, the last one still though and I'm in the final, I think, big boss. (I just confirmed it's the final one).
So I'm level 29 and the boss is level 32. There are a lot of side missions pending, of course. The mission is Level 30, I think. I tried last night for like 20 minutes and couldn't finish it. I didn't check any strategy, youtube or cheat, just trying to see if I could do anything LOL!
So I went to bed without the game finished. I already read a couple of tips, really hope I can finish it at Level 29.

Wow, we're at level 31 (or 32) and we've started the final quest, but we do have several sidequests to complete first, not to mention all the circle of slaughters.

i'm in no real hurry to play the Mechromancer...besides finishing up the regular game we'll see added DLC for expanded missions just like we saw in BL1. I've got my Gunserker at Level 17 and want to finish him after Maya. I want to do the "Soldier" as well. We all will be playing this this time next year.
Did another mission last night with the help of someone who just did the same one (both of us Level 30)...Arid Nexus...and he said going thru with another person was so much better.

Cool stuff on Mechromancer.
At level 40 or so, Maya has finally hit a sweet spot for me where she is controlling the battlefield in sort of the same way Lileth did. Her phase lock has gotten really really powerful as it sucks enemies in, lights them up with elemental damage and reflects bullets to nearby enemies (who are near because it just sucked them in, often from cover). I've also maximized the cooldown in the skill tree (30%), am using a cool down relic (25%), and also a team cool down class mod (15%), so I'm able to use it almost constantly. She's suddenly become really fun...maybe not as much fun as exploding out of phase by punching a dude in the face, but fun nonetheless.
I have an assassin and a commando at level 13 or so, but so far, their skill trees don't seem to be structured nearly as well as the siren's...or the skills simply aren't that interesting (more health, more bullets, blah).
My take on difficulty: I don't mind enemies with tons of XP, and I don't mind being the chaos of being swarmed by melee enemies...both make the game fun. But suicide bombers and EXP Loaders have no business being in any FPS, where limited vision causes you to not even see them much of the time. They are even worse in the second playthrough, because they have so much HP, you can't take them out before they get to you.

According to @gearboxsoftware‘s @replies it appears that the Borderlands 2 patch for Xbox users is resetting Badass Stats, Golden Keys and your rank. The 3mb patch went live today but it appears to be causing fans plenty of problems.
Nothing official has come out from Gearbox about the issue, but be warned. We’ll update this news item as soon as we hear anything.

Thanks! I guess I'll start Dishonored today and wait until tomorrow to try to finish the game.
And chess, agree with you. But I guess the game would be too easy without them, at least for me. When I die, late in the game, is because the EXP Loaders or suicide bombers.

I downloaded the Mechromancer and patch on Xbox this morning and played till level 6. No problems with anything getting reset, but it's always better to play it safe for those who haven't done so yet.
