Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
I still won't get this until it's on the cheap, but it looks like the original Borderlands may be in my sights in a shorter time frame than Borderlands 2 if someone can answer me this question:
What's the difference between Borderlands: Greatest Hits Edition ($20) and Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition ($30) besides the above Amazon prices for new copies?

Do you mean dual turrets each with a single gun? Then that's the Right Hand skill tree (Survival)

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
My game has locked up 3 times today (PS3)... just installed the patch this morning. I've been playing the game religiously since launch with no problems. It's kinda irritating since when you restart, you have to fight your way through the ENTIRE level all over again. I'm thinking it just might be a fluke thing but has anyone else had the game freeze on them? Like I said, this is the first time I've had issues, but it's happened thrice already today.

So glad I read about the problems with the patch before playing again. Never been so glad to choose "cancel" when booting up a game!

Well, I installed the patch, and downloaded the add-on. No issues for me.
I also finished the game. It took me a long time, but it was of course easy once I read how to proceed (pretty similar to the first game). So yeah, I was 29 and the final boss 32. After I finished him I got to 30.5 or something.

Whew...I finished both side missions at Caustic Caverns in solo. I can see why some players hated this place. I just glad my Commando have the turret guns with rockets. It made the missions much easier. Hated that big thresher, got killed by one. Glad I'm done with the missions cause I'm not going back there again.

I can't seem to finish the timed missions, more specifically the "Arms Dealer" one, where you grab all the arm parts from mail boxes and then take them to a PO box - I can hit all the mail boxes in time, but can't even come close to even getting near the PO box at the end, even when I work backwards. Point being, timed missions have no place in Borderlands.

2. Drive to the farthest pick-up point
3. Get out of vehicle, walk back to mission starting point
4. Start mission
5. Go to Catch-a-Ride station and choose "Teleport to Vehicle" (do NOT deploy a new one)
6. Work your way backwards and easily finish in time
I should note that I didn't do it this way, just kept trying until I found the most efficient route, but when I later ran across this solution I had a "Why didn't I think of that?!" moment.

I used two teleports to do it. I dropped one car by the first mailbox by the water, went to the nearest station and grabbed another and drove that one back to the start. Then when the mission started I teleported to the first car, and used it to get all the arms and finally teleported back to the car in town to turn in.

For the timed ones The arms dealer i just did with a friend. We both sat next to a mailbox before starting. Also i don't know if this is a glitch or just a cheap way to do things
but later on you have to retrieve Refunds from mail boxes. I started the mission by opening and taking a refund starting the clock but left the area and did one round of the slaughterdome. when i came back it showed my Quest and time as Paused. I then went and picked up the rest of the refunds each one adding more time while the time and quest still remaining paused. Don't know if you can do that for the first one too.

Still, timed missions do not belong in this (or actually, any) game.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
Any of the side missions I've come across that say Paused at the start and show a timer I just groan. I tried the mail mission early and failed and haven't been back. Not worth it to me, especially in a game that respawns enemies.

Borderlands 2 Pirate DLC Leaks
New missions, new rarity color, new loot and more.
Information on downloadable content for Borderlands 2 has leaked online. Called “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty,” the pack appears to have been leaked by files included in yesterday’s early release of the Mechromancer class and features new missions, a new rarity color, new loot and more.
According to a trophy list on PS3trophies.org, three additional Trophies (and presumably achievements) will be included along with the pack: one for completing a mission called “X Marks the Spot,” one for discovering all named locations “in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate's Booty areas,” and one for completing “all Pirate’s Booty side missions.”
In addition, files from the Steam version of Borderlands 2 have leaked significantly more information. A thread on the official Gearbox forums includes multiple images, showing off a new currency called Seraph Crystal, a new pink item rarity, new head customization options for the game’s original four classes, a new vehicle and a plethora of new items, weapons, enemies and bosses. In addition, a text file on Pastebin allegedly includes all of the Echo dialog from the game. According to one entry, the story of the pack is summed up as follows: “legends speak of Captain Blade's Lost Treasure of the Sands. Of a prize so great that men would turn the sands red in pursuit of it. Of a pirate queen, courageous and deadly, who would stop at nothing to find it. Of a monstrous Leviathan. Of the Vault Hunters who journeyed to the desert town of Oasis, not knowing the horrors that would befall them.”
For now, the content is unconfirmed, but we’ve reached out to 2K and Gearbox for comment. Previously, rumors suggested that new downloadable content called Torgue could be in the works for Borderlands 2, but it’s unclear if that and Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty are related. Gearbox hasn’t detailed any downloadable content for Borderlands 2, though a Season Pass currently available for purchase indicates that multiple packs will be coming in the future.

I can't find a goddamned Purple or Orange Commando Mod and now they're throwing Pink at me? Way to rub it out in, Gearbox.

Already a DLC mission pack and haven't finished the regular game with Maya (Level 30), have Gunserker (Level 17) and just started playing with Mechromancer (Level 11).
Mechromanacer is becoming a favorite though still like Maya. So far I've died just once. Cannot wait till two us get into the Slaughter House and also when we get the Mechs on Hyperion Mechs

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
Agree. I already did 3 or so of them and they are chore. You basically have to repeat them at least twice, and my case more than 3 times.
I'm finishing all the side quests now, but I'm leaving the timed quests to the end.

According to the AP, that DLC pack will be out next Tuesday.
Looks like I need to re-assess my season pack stance.
