Guess what Gearbox blessed me with tonight:
After realizing that I said fuck it and played anyway. Booted up the slaughter challenge in the Fridge with a friend and on Round 1, wave 1 some Rat made off with $15k. Killed him and collected my goods and got a whopping $1k back. Badass reset with a 25% loss in money inside of 20 min.
Before shutting down I realized I backed my save up to the cloud before starting tonight. Thought I'd beat the badass reset. Nope. Fucked on that one too:
I took both these pics soon after booting up. Odd that they have different ranks and tokens available but are from different copies of the same save file.
Oh and if all that isn't bad enough, there is yet one more kick in the nuts... look in the bottom left corner. It fucking reset the vault keys too. I had 9. Double

Holy fuck. This was my first launch day game purchase in over a year. Only fucking game I've wanted to play all year and damned they are making it hard for me to enjoy it.
Related(?), did anyone's game boot to the "new game" menu vs. the usual "continue" menu? I had to manually select my character right after I booted up. Possible red flag?

^ That sucks. What system are you playing on? I am definitely going to backup my saves everyday now. I am playing on the PC so it's much easier to back everything up.
It seems that they aren't very thorough with their testing. I believe that they mentioned the new patch yesterday also had bugs that need fixed in another patch.

And yeah, the patch introduced a bug that affected shields with -health. They no longer carry the minus health number, so they are just super charged shields with no negative health hit.

Yeah, from what I've read on their forums, that seems to be the first indicator that you've been effected by the bug (which probably wiped your skins/heads ass well).

Just curious as to how some are saying they finished the game while in the lower and mid Level 30's. I've got two friends who have been playing together and are at Level 46 & 47 and not finished. They are doing every side mission. Why would anyone want to hurry up and fight the final boss while in the mid or late 30's when it's apparent there is still plenty out there to do?

I played yesterday and all my Badass rank was there. However i completed round one of all non level ones yesterday and the achievement didn't click. Is that a problem too?

I think that's what people are saying when they say they finished in the 30's. I haven't beaten it yet (either playthrough), so I don't know. I've got a 28 as my highest character.

My buddy told me (and I believe his research) that you need to max out "Splish Splash" (Rocket Launcher) and "Up Close"(?) (point-blank Shotgun) because they open up new skills that aren't on the list yet.

I forget which one splish splash unlocks because I did it awhile ago, but it did the same thing of keeping track of the hidden challenge and it shot up a couple ranks as soon as it was unlocked.

I downloaded patch, mechromancer, compatibility pack and the season pass last night. I did not, however, play the game. I'm hoping that all my stuff didn't reset. That would seriously blow ass.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
I don't even understand how someone could reach level 40 and not be finished with the first playthrough yet. The XP earned would eventually be so minuscule that it'd be nearly impossible to level up anymore. I did every side mission besides Terramorphous and one of the Circles of Slaughter, completed all the challenges needed for that achievement, explored a lot, and was still only level 33 when I finished the first playthrough. Unless they're killing eighty gazillion enemies at 1 XP each, it seems impossible.
The game is designed to take you through most, if not all, of True Vault Hunter Mode (second playthrough) before you hit the level cap.
I'm sure it does. I'm just tired of being expected to pay $90 or more per game these days for the complete experience, so I've adopted a more frugal approach.

yeah, i don't get that either. we were 33 or 34 when finished and we did everything. unless you have some crazy mod that is giving you like 100% xp or something, i don't even get how you could get to lvl 40 in the first play through.

i hardly get any xp for things i do now and most zones are lvl 24 enemies and i'm 27. although lynchwood did give me some.

There's got to be a miscommunication about "finished". We're obviously assuming they meant with the first playthrough, but I think they must be considering TVH mode as part of being "finished".

So who did the score for this game? The starting menu has a very Graeame Revell (the Crow) vibe to it. I can't seem to find anything on it.

Well to be honest I haven't talked to them (those who are level 47) in awhile. I'll send a note to them and ask just where they are. But on a side note me (Maya Level 31)and my friend (Assassin Level 37) did the Hyperion version of Slaughterhouse last night and we got thru it though it but was close a few times. Thank God the walkway to the elevator above has slots to fire thru. I died one round and he did in another. And thankfully Maya was able to grab those flying drones with phase lock...those things are a pest.

I had a pretty long list of sidequests I didn't finish... once they became "Trivial", I didn't really want to bother with them. I finished the game at level 32.
