This proves to be especially useful for lower level players who want a house, but don't want to blow all their cash. So, make sure you talk to the Jarl's attendant who sells it to you when he is near a chest, dresser, or something you can store you gold in. Go through the dialoge, say you wish to purchase it, then once you've pressed A to purchse, quickly press B a couple times to leave this screen and then quickly deposit your money into the chest. This also works for all the upgrades available to the house. He will indicate they'll be in your home next time you arrive, and you'll see the key placed in your inventory but you will keep all the gold."
I don't like exploiting glitches (I consider it cheating) but I've been thinking about this one. I haven't tried but the problem I have with it is that I didn't know you can dump gold into chests. Can you?

Does anyone know when you can get dual flame in skyrim?

For example, I have 'flame' in both hands. When I press Rt and LT at the same time..it looks like it just sprays fire from both hands at the target. But I am looking at video, where it looks like 2 fireballs merge into one fireball..and then you shoot that at your badguy (Kind of like in street fighter)

What would be the point in that? I thought gold carries no weight?

The exploit is that you dump the gold into the chest..so you can get the key to the home, without actually giving the guy your gold.

I thought it was something you had to pick up via the perk skill trees.

Yeah, I don't wanna pay for another horse since my last one died in a 3 second run-in with a simple, weak wolf.

But is gold even in your inventory? I know in Oblivion it wasn't. I thought it was just noted at the bottom of your inventory screen.

It is in your inventory. I believe it's in your MISC section. Whatever the last one is.

Requires 20 Destruction, and you have to spend a perk point to unlock it of course.

I ran into a Stormcloak camp near Whiterun and I found a horse that I jumped on without stealing it. Downside is this horse does not hang around when you jump off. Which is not a big dieal because I'm bound to kill him by falling off a cliff anyways.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Last night had a great quest spoilers for "Missing in action"
Spoiler:
I decided to go in by myself and try to get Thorald out peacefully. My horse died so i ended up spending two hours walking on foot to Northwatch keep. Talked to the guards who denied Thorald was still alive and i would have to talk to their superior. having walked for two hours i was royally pissed and stormed the prison, made my way down killing nearly a dozen imperial guards and finally found Thorald. Escorted him back up killing more imperials on the way. Made it outside where i was greeted by half a dozen more guards. Don't know how, but managed to wipe them all out while Thorald just stood there doing nothing to help! Man what a fucking epic quest!

My only problem now is that i've killed the imperials i'm now on the rebels side. Is there anyway to re-join the imperials or am i pretty screwed till i can start my next play through?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

They're saying on IGN that there has to be a problem with Skyrim on the PS3 because the game saves get bigger and bigger. Did they not play any of the Fallout games and notice that they did the same the more that you did in the game? However, it is weird that the number of game saves you have can affect how the game itself runs.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I doubt it's the number of saves -- it's the fact that a save basically includes the status of every location/item/person you've encountered. The way to test my theory (which I'm too lazy to do) is to go back and load an early save and resave it, then see if it's the approximate size of the early save or the approximate size of the latest save.

The reason that each subsequent save is bigger is because of exactly what you said. However, this is nothing new as both Fallout games operated this same way. I haven't played enough of Skyrim to have it happen but it did slow my Fallout 3 game tremendously when I had several different saves, around 60 or more. I expect the same problem to occur if a large number of saves are accumulated for Skyrim.
