New Zine about pro guitar. Don't know if there's any new info in it as I'm just reading it now.

I ordered the Mustang with a ton of buttons, but I'm thinking the guitar with strings coming out later will be easier to play pro mode on. I may have to switch when the time comes. Doing slides and chords with 200 buttons sounds really hard and not very user friendly, while sliding down a string is natural.

Confirmation for Marley next week. Pricing says $20, but then says 1080pts (which is $13.50). I'm going to say it's actually 1600pts, because it's 13 songs, but 1080 would be awesome.

Sweet. Definitely getting the whole pack, but I'm curious if "No Woman, No Cry" and "Redemption Song" will actually be the versions from Legend or if they'll use the studio/full-band versions.

I'll have my hands full until the Squier comes out anyway, let alone for a price I'm comfortable paying (if ever). The article has me all kinds of excited to try it and even more so to shove it in my holier-than-thou guitarist friends' faces.

The number on a chord tells you where to put your index finger. It's always the lowest fretted note. In this case, you should put your index finger on the first fret on the E-string. The shape of the rest of the chord tells you what to do with the rest of your fingers. See how the shape grows in height as it goes to the A-string on the right? This tells you that you must put another finger two frets higher on the third fret.
Still looking forward to it, but lately I've been getting kind of frustrated with some of the expert drum stuff. I guess I just don't have enough time to practice and improve really, but I worry I'll hit a wall with the game and not ever really be able to play this stuff on expert reliably.
I also remember when I didn't think I could play drums on easy, and now I play the easier stuff on expert, so I'm trying to stay positive.
I just wish my daughter didn't develop a phobia about her bedroom door being closed. Can't play drums when she's sleeping anymore. lol At least I won't have that problem with the keyboard and guitar.

I'm not even positive what the heck a fret is.
See how the neck of the guitar has those bars? The area between two bars is a fret. Some frets have a dot in the middle to help you know what fret number you're on.

The Bob Marley album is confirmed at $20. I'll probably grab a couple tracks, no where close enough to 10 to justify the full purchase.

I'm hoping to be able to buy the stringed guitar when it comes out too, but the article kind of makes me worry this is going to be too complicated for my slightly arthritic old fingers.
I hope the tutorials make more sense than this. I'm not even sure what the heck they are actually saying here. "higher fret"? higher than what? I'm not even positive what the heck a fret is.

Really looking forward to this as I already have 2 acoustics, a mandolin and a bass guitar. Never got around to buying an inexpensive electric (as I mostly play bass anymore anyway). So the usability of the game instrument will help to justify the expense.

+1
Outside of Silverchair this week and Rodrigo y Gabriela (RBN) a few weeks ago, I think CCR is the only artist I've been interested in since June.
*edit - checking MyRockBandSongs, looks like outside of some RBN stuff, the last actual HMX DLC I bought was Tom Petty back in May.
Good for the wallet, bad for keeping RockBand in the play rotation.

I was about to complain about it only being on the PS3, but then I remembered I play on 360 and we get all the good shit.
