Yeah, there's been some discussion of that upthread: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/10412190-post1021.html
Or try not to post things in the morning at least.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
In any case, I actually wasn't incorrect in stating "Rock Your Socks" was unavailable after all because apparently there are also early RB1-era DLC tracks that are blocked on RB3 as well.
Hopefully it's the kind of thing that Harmonix is still working on because I imagine they could unblock them via a patch if they are able to secure them for RB3.

Is there discussion somewhere about these blocked songs somewhere? A list perhaps? Proof?
Also, "Rock Your Socks" came out with "Tribute" mid-September last year - A full year after RB2 launched. That's hardly "RB1-era DLC".

Seems like the RBN releases have really slowed down. Is that so HMX could dictate #2000 or because RBN2.0 is coming with RB3 or what?

RBN 2.0 won't hit until 2011. Tools aren't even available currently. There's a drought over there of playtesting/peer review. So many people are making songs and they're not getting reviewed. They've got something special going on over there now to help push some stuff through the pipes, but we'll see if that works.

It wasn't a direct feed and the guy was on a GH guitar and I think an RB1 drumkit, so all you heard was loud popcorn like noises and could barely hear the audio. Even I (arguably the biggest RB guy around these parts) could barely stomach it for very long.

I guess it also doesn't matter that Harmonix is dragging their feet re: announcing the export details and killing threads on the official forums in which people talk about the missing songs.

Every song licensed for DLC is licensed for "the Rock Band platform", and not an individual game. The people who got the game early are either dumbasses, or spreading FUD.

I guess it doesn't really matter when it launched in comparison to RB1 and RB2 when the issue is the fact that Harmonix apparently wasn't clearing it for future games like RB3. I guess the people playing and noticing these tracks missing are also pranksters/hoaxers in addition to being no-good dirty bastards for having the game before all of us.

I don't give a fuck that they have the game before me, good on them. Am I jealous? Yes, but that doesn't mean *I'm* the one making shit up.

Yeah, I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to leave a camera rolling and then boot up both games one after the other and show that either all the tracks are or aren't there.

This is why i decided not to keep peer testing when my account was due for renawal, just couldnt justify it to help them out to play some Beta song... Was fun testing it though

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
It would be nice if something was given back for playtests on RBN. I feel I got a lot of use out of it in having access to full songs to preview before purchasing, but I haven't done many thorough playtests due to the amount of time needed to invest into it. Of course, if there was some reward for playtests, I'm sure there would be a lot of unthorough testing going on, which wouldn't be good for the service.
I think the original thought was that the authors would end up helping each others stuff through the system, and that would work if there were only a small amount of songs in the process at any time. Right now, there are probably close to 100 songs in Peer Review and about the same number in Playtest. Hell, RockGamerStudios alone has about 30 songs in Peer Review with even more in Playtest. There just aren't many dedicated playtesters out there when there's really no incentive for them to playtest other than a pat on the back. If they handed out free DLC codes to people that tested well, or even some swag, I think people would be more inclined to invest back into the system.
