I actually forgot today wat RB DLC announcement day...Seeing this is awesome.

Looks like VH1 is saying Bob Marley DLC on 9/21.

To expand upon my earlier post (even though no one said anything about it), it's been confirmed as Bob Marley's Legend full album.

Harmonix is going in on beast mode these next 2 weeks of DLC.

That gives them 9/28 (GH:WoR release day) to beat them to the Muse punch.

I thought they said all DLC prior to RB3 wouldn't have any of the features of RB3. Why would you want it now, when after RB3 you could have keys?

I already saw that. I didn't think you were teasing us but, rather, the ones that approved that video for release.

Those character models look so good.

I know it's still all speculation at this point, but is the consensus that recent pre-RB3 DLC will not have keys support, but will after RB3 is released? I'd love to get Legend right away, but I also want to use the keys option on "Three Little Birds" and other songs. If that's the case, then I'll hold off on buying all DLC until RB3 comes out.

Admittedly, I know nothing of how to code RB DLC, but you'd think they'd just put the keyboard parts in the tracks and have that component "unlock" when played in RB3. But maybe that can't be done. Or they just want to make a few bucks by selling "upgraded" files, licenses or whatever.

If they could just "disable" parts of the song for RB1/2, then they wouldn't have to stop supporting those when RB3 hits. HMX have said on several occasions that starting 10/26, RB1/2 would no longer get any DLC (outside of RBN, since they can't add new features yet).

I'm not sure exactly how they have their files set up, but it seems like they "should" be able to do this. I mean, the Green Day songs have harmony parts in them already. I don't know how the addition of keys affects things, but I would imagine that it's just another MIDI track and another audio file. In fact, it might be that additional audio file that throws things off. I don't think that harmonies get their own dedicated stem, and they just need to provide the additional MIDI for those.

Anyone up for a laugh? Figured more people in this thread would enjoy it than the GH thread. Check out Major Nelson's podcast this week. He interviews one of the Neversoft guys about Guitar Hero: WoR.

First, listening to him describe the 'story' mode is absolutely hysterical. Second, he really brings the funny when real guitars in music games is brought up.

Definitely worth listening to even if you have dropped that series like a bad habit.

You can definitely hear in the guy's voice that his heart just isn't in the interview. He sounds like he just wants it to be over. It's very awkward.
