Tesla, Cake, Queensryche, Dream Theater, Muse, Beach Boys, Nightwish, Weird Al, Triumph...
A veritable who's who of what I wanted from Harmonix. Downloading a bunch. Now I gotta figure out how to make them work again. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
 HOLY. SHIT....new this week:
Spoiler:
& Spoiler:
You can be assured that these charts are accurate; I put over 350 hours of work into this album and have thoroughly tested these charts. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Whoa. That seriously makes me want to go buy Rock Band today. Just for DT.
Would I just need RB3 and a plastic guitar? |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
You need a specific copy of Rock Band 3*, a jump drive, a Window's PC to format the jump drive so you can see Xbox files on it, i.e. put songs onto the drive, there's (no mac version of the software), and yes a guitar.
*Digital version of RB3 won't work. *Newest release of RB3 with the MadCatz logo on the box won't work This is because you have to roll back the Title Update to the game for customs to work. The newer disc and digital versions have the TU hardcoded into the game and can't be 'downgraded.' |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
That's confusing. :)
I'll cheek my local EB Games for a used copy. So no Mad Catz logo = good to go, right? |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Thanks! That link is awesome.
I can't seem to find the answer to one question I have. I've got the GH3 and GH World Tour guitars. Will they work with RB3? I assumed not, but my quick search showed that they might work with RB2, but I can't find an answer for RB3. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Yes they will work fine

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
This week's customs releases: 81 songs - over 36 hours - of Genesis!
http://genesis.customscreators.com/ Man, I need to get back into the customs thing. After taking a break from it, I downloaded a whole of of them several months ago. Since I went way over the 256 song cap, I attempted to put all of the songs into three large packages. Only the first one showed up in RB, I got frustrated, and said "screw it." Maybe this week I'll try to figure out what I did wrong and organize my songs again. I've been talking with a friend about organizing another game night, which we haven't done in ages, so that should give me a little motivation. |

I want to do the custom thing. I just don't know if I want to put the work into it.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
It takes next to no time at all.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Holy crap that is badass! For me, I'll wait a few weeks between checking CCC and it never ceases to amaze me the quality of work that those guys pump out.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
The only hiccup with customs I've ever had was the 256 upload glitch with party buffalo. Once I figured out why shit wasn't showing up in my playlists, it was an easy fix.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Hey gang,
It's been a while since the last relicensing update, just over 4 months since the last update at the end of July, but we'll be saying farewell to a few more tracks in the RB DLC library at the end of December. As has been the case with all previous relicensing updates, if you already own these tracks then nothing should change for you. The OP in this thread has some additional info, but the short version is that these songs are coming down from the store, not your personal set list, and the only people affected by this announcement are the people that haven't purchased these tracks in the 5 years that they've been available. Here is a list of the affected tracks: • Dinosaur Jr. – Pick Me Up • Dinosaur Jr. – The Wagon • Electric Six Pack 01 • Electric Six – Dance Epidemic • Electric Six – Gay Bar • Electric Six – I Don’t Like You • Joan Jett & The Blackhearts – Fake Friends • Just Kait – U Suck • Lights Resolve – Dreaming of Love • Morningwood – Best Of Me • Morningwood – Sugarbaby These tracks are scheduled to come down from stores on December 23rd. We don't control when 1st party updates their stores, so you may see content come down a little earlier or a little later. Store updates during the holiday are occasionally wonky, so if you're looking to pick up these tracks before they are pulled then you're probably better off not waiting until the last minute. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Dreaming of Love is free so everyone should get it if they don't have it already.

This week's customs are the remaining tracks from Weezer's Blue Album. It's a Festivus miracle! (No, really, this makes me very happy.)

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I just read this on Facebook and was going to post it. Awesome news that official DLC is back, even if I don't particularly want any of those songs.
