Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Just a heads-up to check the clearance game rack at your local Best Buy -- I stopped by mine at lunch today, and along with a bunch of ancient new games they had there (including a slew of PS2 games and decade-old PC games like Fallout 2), I found a 360 copy of Green Day : Rock Band. With the 70% off, it came to $3.60 + tax. Even having to spring for an import fee (800 points, I assume), that's a smoking deal for those who never bothered to pick it up.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
That's a great value for a lot of fun songs to sing and drum and play bass to. Guitar leaves a lot to be desired, especially in the early albums.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
While I'm really not an Iron Maiden fan, a couple of this weeks tracks are pretty awesome. Phantom of the Opera especially. I never heard it before today. Love the tempo changes in the middle of the song. I'm definitely down for that, plus Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

Also, remember next week is the last week to qualify for 80 points back on Rewards if you spend 240 or more on Rock Band music. Looks like I'll need to dive into the back catalog for one more song to qualify. Nothing in the last 2 to 3 weeks has interested me too much.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Never heard of this artist.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Me neither.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
They're #13 on the community wishlist. You old-timers are completely out of touch.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I'll 23 skidoo you.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
In this case, yes. But that community wishlist seems pretty sensible for the most part.
I've only heard of them because of the community talking about them over the years. And the t-shirts I see when I scope the playgrounds. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I've heard OF them, I just don't want to HEAR them. :)

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Rock Band just tweeted implying the full RBB setlist will be announced today. I guess that means submissions for our guessing game are closed. Unless you can sneak some in before.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Looks like it wasn't the complete list, just 10 more
All-American Rejects – "Kids in the Street" Barenaked Ladies – "One Week" Collective Soul – "Shine" Elton John – "I’m Still Standing" Fall Out Boy – "A Little Less Sixteen Candles" Great White – "Once Bitten Twice Shy" Iron Maiden – "Wicker Man" Living Colour – "Cult of Personality" P!nk – "Raise Your Glass" Shinedown – "Diamond Eyes" Tears for Fears – "Shout" |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Tears For Fears FTW!
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Wow. I'm pretty pumped for BNL (finally a non-holiday song of theirs!), Collective Soul, Living Colour, and Tears for Fears.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
For the record, here's the setlist so far:
All-American Rejects - Kids In the Street Barenaked Ladies - One Week Blink-182 - Always Collective Soul - Shine Elton John - I'm Still Standing Fall Out Boy - A Little Less Sixteen Candles Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks Great White - Once Bitten Twice Shy Iron Maiden - Wicker Man Living Colour - Cult of Personality P!nk - Raise Your Glass Quiet Riot - Bang Your Head (Metal Health) Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl Shinedown - Diamond Eyes Tears for Fears - Shout (Predicted by me!) Of these fifteen songs, ten are insta-buys for me. The way I see it, I'm already up ten bucks and I get new game to play for free (if the cost is really going to be twenty bucks.) I'm very happy to see some great 80s and 90s tunes in here. I'm hoping we'll get the remaining ten songs and a release date at E3. While it's a pipe dream, a release before my RB party at the end of June would be the cherry on sundae... |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Cult of Personality FTW! So glad to get this song in the RB universe! Hopefully the kickstarter RB project will bring more Living Colour (and some Extreme)

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Wow, that's already almost a better set list than RB3 had!
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Ya I'm honna buy this if not just for that stellar setlist
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Attention, everyone:
"Whoever decided to put Elton John and Fallout Boy in the new Rock Band should be punched in the face. Ruined game." --some dumbass I follow on Twitter Anyway, the game is ruined. Sorry. Carry on. 3-HOUR LATER EDIT: Oh wait, there's more: "Congrats to Harmonix for ruining Rock Band Blitz with a trash setlist." --same guy Congrats, Harmonix! |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I hope we get a Blitz release date at E3. I really want to play this game ASAP.
