Censored beyond the radio edit? I imagine it's the one most people know. It won't be nearly as terribly butchered as "This Ain't a Scene...".

There was a radio edit?! I'm just too much of a potty mouth to have known they had one. :(

Which brings us back to why can't they have both versions as separate vocal tracks and depending on who is signed into Live (parental controls) determines which version you play in game.

Is that outside the realm of possibility?

pinata242 06-17-11 09:27 AM

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Absolutely feasible. It would double the vocal audio track size so you'd increase the size of the files by around 20% unless they can "seamlessly branch" just the affected phrases.

May be licensing issues. We do know that DLC is technically unrated so they aren't bound necessarily by the main game's T(een) rating.

I listened to the PoM tracks and didn't realize I liked them all. I'll try to win the pack from Twitter next week for sure and may even spend the points if that fails.

Thought maybe this was their three biggest singles, but looking at Wiki, they charted higher than "Control" with "Drift and Die" and "Psycho". Forgot about those songs and would probably get them in the future PoM Pack 02.

Drift and Die is solid. Not sure if I know Psycho.

Someone with contacts(or does the tweet thing) needs bring this up to someone at Harmonix.

I think it's another solid week of DLC.

While I'm not a huge fan of either band, I do appreciate the fact that pretty much every one of these songs had a decent amount of radio play. And that means guests at my RB parties are more likely to play them.

Overall, the Harmonix DLC release schedule featuring fewer but more popular songs works very well for me. Keep it up, I say.

Looks like I'm buying a points card this week. Very happy with the POM stuff minus whatever edit they put out there for She Hates Me. I hope...they just blank it out as opposed to changing the lyrics up. That way, I can sing it as per original and suffer no penalities. And Drift & Die would be nice, maybe a future pack. Honestly, if you went to the casual POM fan and asked them to pick three songs from the first album, those would be the ones they pick. Hopefully in future packs, we expand out to Drift & Die, She Brings Me Down and assorted songs from their other albums.

BTW, Psycho is from their third album. If POM gets future packs, I would like to see for the second: Drift & Die, She Brings Me Down, Away From Me and then for a third: Heel over Head, Famous and Psycho. But hopefully this first one sells well.

I think the only thing that could make me happier than more Puddle of Mudd would be more Amberian Dawn. *crosses fingers for both*

This Amberian Dawn you speak of.... I can't believe how underepresented they are in Rock Band. I think they only have a couple of songs released in RBN..

According to the promo video, it's being blanked out.

Wait, people actually like Puddle of Mudd? And you talk shit on Amberian Dawn? Seriously?

Nobody cares that AD is on RBN. We get confused when 50% of the songs released are AD and 50% of those are self-segregating 2x bass versions.

, I feel for my wife right now, when I get in the car with her an hour from now, I am cranking up some POM. She is going to ----- hate me. :D Nah, I mean sure she's biased, but it is nice when your spouse tells you I rather listen to you sing POM than when Wes Scantlin does it.

Quasi-update on the status of the Squier from hmxhenry:

Hey gang. Thanks to everyone for your patience while we made the rounds to get as much information on the Squier as possible. Hopefully you can all appreciate why we wouldn't want to post partial information that ended up causing even more confusion.

Here's the situation as I understand it: due to significant manufacturing lead times and the quantity currently available in the retail channel, Fender has decided not to place any more back orders for direct fulfillment. That would explain why, as some posters in this thread have pointed out, some music stores are unable to take back orders, but Squiers generally appear to be readily available at Best Buys.

What this means for you, the people still looking to pick up a Squier, is that Best Buy (specifically Best Buys with Music Centers) is currently your best bet. There should be a sufficient quantity in the pipeline to meet the current demand, and when we get back into the office on Monday we'll begin next steps with Best Buy and Fender to help you track availability and assist in getting stock where it needs to be.

As I mentioned in my previous posts, the crew at Harmonix is still fully committed to supporting Rock Band 3, Pro Mode, Pro Guitar and Pro DLC. Between the Squiers and Mustangs currently available at retail, as well as the upcoming Pro Guitar DLC upgrades, there are still plenty of options for people looking to get into Pro Guitar and we've got some awesome stuff coming up that we think people will be really excited for.

I'll continue to collect feedback from this thread and from PMs, and thanks again to everyone that contacted me with specifics. I'll follow up here once we have contact info for Best Buy or more information on international solutions.

Not really sure what exactly that means. I decided to pick up a Squier at my local BB (well, they had it shipped in from a nearby store). I'm still sorta debating whether to keep it, but the BB music store employee said it had a standard 30-day return period.

Sounds like a guilty pleasure week. I could claim that I'm getting the Maroon 5 pack for my wife, but by this point, you'd all know I was lying. Stupid insanely catchy pop band.

It sounds like they really, really don't want to manufacture any more of these than will actually sell at something close to their suggested price.

That's really weird. The Pac-Man stuff is RBN, and you're not supposed to be able to access RBN tracks via the online marketplace anymore. That one's showing up as "Full Song", which means it's definitely an RBN track.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

If anybody was looking to buy a keyboard, they are only $39.99 (half off) at BestBuy, the stand is $14.99(madcatz, all metal). Picked up the last one for 360. Just barely had the time to get the stand together and worked through a couple of songs on Easy. It is going to take some work. It feels like it did when I played fake guitar for the first time. But I think I'll be able to get it down. The stand does help though. The whole key-tar thing would not have worked (at least not for me anyway). Nothing will replace my vocals, but hopefully I can say in a week or two that I can actually play it. (Since I'll never get down drums, but that is what my wife is for).

Plus it has a release date of 6/2/2011 which was a Thursday, a normal RBN release day, but it didn't actually release then.
