May 19th DLC: Pantera 4 Pack! Walk, Five Minutes Alone, I'm Broken, Mouth For War. (Confirmed in Podcast)

Looks like we'll be getting a little metal (of some sort) every week this month. Awesome!


EDIT: Walk and Five Minutes Alone will have optional pro upgrades as well.

EDIT2: "Do You Feel Like We Do?" will also be released on the 19th according to the podcast.

EDIT3: I'm an idiot. The 19th is a Thursday. Those are probably coming no the 17th. Gaga's album is dropping on the 23rd, so we'll probably be getting that the week after. And then Ozzy will be the week after. Sorry, pinata.

EDIT4: Now the rumor is that the DLC is actually going to be the 19th on that week, as they're doing some server migration or something. Don't know if this is true or not.

Yep. This month is shaping up to be the best month of DLC in a long time.

Isn't this coming week also supposedly the first week of DLC that Harmonix secured without the help MTV games? If so, it seems they're better off without them.

I actually like Paramore and wouldn't mind more of their songs. :blush:

So the problem with playing a setlist of every star-less song in difficulty order is that when you say "One more song" you get bullshit like Beck's E-Pro. Then you go one more to wash the taste out of your mouth, you get your ass kicked by Radio Free Europe and walk away with 3.5 stars. But then Queen's I Want to Break Free gives you gold stars and gives you an out but with less time and more hand-cramps.

Not true. The information in the 'details' box is specific per instrument (as far as I'm aware). The information at the top with the band names is that band's highest score on any instrument (or combination of instruments).

For instance, I don't think I've ever seen your name pop up when I was playing a song on guitar/bass/vocals, since you're pretty much exclusively a drum player. I think there were one or two RB3 disc songs I saw where I beat your 5-lane keyboard score, and I know you played that instrument for like 2 days when the game first came out (or in our case, 2 weeks before the game released).

I'm only counting the 5-button guitar. I haven't played pro guitar since the first night over a month ago and it'll be years before I could gold star anything there.

I've only played RB3 one time since we were friends, Shag, so I haven't had many opportunities to actively pass you. But in the 12 songs I played last night, it happened at least once. Not that I'm going to tell you which ;)

That "Band Name" one is what I was talking about. I don't care about my scores enough to bother checking any other screens. They should default that message to a single instrument if only one person is playing.

But they do. On your stats where it says what percentage you got, it says "You are ranked #X on the leaderboard!" and then it replaces that message with either "You beat so-and-so's score!" or "You need XX,XXX to beat so-and-so's score!" It takes about 1 second for it to rotate over to the other message and you don't have to hit any buttons to do that. It'll probably be visible while you're rating the song. :)

They should also have quick access to a friend leaderboard from the results screen.

I really have no interest in how I do worldwide so those leaderboards are all but useless to me.

I do think it's funny when I do really good solo that my "band" score is in the top 40% or so of band scores :lol:

That would be nice. I mean, I guess they kind have got something like that if you wait on the song select screen, the "tiering" window rotates between the actual tiers and the top 3 scores on your friends list. Or you can go to the details page and see this info too.

I'm actually not too concerned with how I stack up with friends and just want to get everything unplayed, whether the score's a GS or a 5-star or even a 2-star (don't use no fail, I just suck at some songs). I just think it's cool to see how I stack up against people. I never go back and replay a song right away to try to beat someone's score though. At least not unless they egg me on by sending me a message or something.

Yeah, but it would still be nice to know where you rank on it after you're done than just knowing how many you beat and how far from the next (only?) person you are.

I'm also not in replay to beat my score unless I know I can bump up a star right then.

I've got a loooooooong way to go before I'm replaying songs to bump scores. I've got 5-button guitar & bass pretty much done, with about 20ish songs on guitar that I will probably never pass. I'm almost wrapped up with getting scores on harmonies as well.

That means I've got a ton of stuff to play on vocals, drums (pro if I can fix my cymbals) and keyboard (both 5-button and pro). Then there's the pro guitar/bass, which I'm about halfway through on Easy.

If RB4 comes out next year and they don't allow you to port your scores over, I don't know how I'll react. I might suck it up and replay everything again (like I've done this time), or I might just say fuck it and stop being a completionist.
