DLC for 6/19:
Angels & Airwaves – The Adventure Owl City – Fireflies Queens of the Stone Age – In My Head * I think my kids like that Fireflies song, or at least they did 2 years ago. I'll check with them about purchasing... |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Nothing for me again this week. Ah well.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
The QOTSA promise had me holding out for a bit more than 1 track, but whatevs. :(
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Fuck yeah! A new AVA song...and their best one!!
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Overall, I like this week.
Generally speaking, I'll take a three pack of singles over three from one artist/band. It's a shame there isn't an 80s pop tune in this group, but there's still enough to like in there. As they say, there's always next time. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
So there's this Guitar Zero Kickstarter.
I'll let the videos speak for it: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WrftJPeO3yQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/O5CthPJU2N0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'm kind of feeling like shooting them some money just to see it get done. Not that I care about the functionality of it myself even though my skillz have gone as far as they can. It would be nice to get some of those out-of-reach achievements ;) |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
So would that basically be a cheat device for the GH games?
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
That's exactly what it is. I'm surprised it took this long to come to fruition.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Wouldn't this destroy the leaderboards? If it works on GH I assume it'll make its way to Rock Band if it doesn't work with it by default anyway.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Since it's just a timing chart based on the first note, the only limitation I see is getting that chart loaded. No reason why it couldn't work with any game if the hardware is recognized.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
So I don't know if you guys have been following the (artificial?) drama going on in one of the Rock Band Blitz threads over at RB.com, but there is a purported list of the last 10 songs in Blitz.
I'm not exactly sure how people came to get it, but it seems that it involves an anonymous source IMing forum members the list along with screenshots of said songs posted on a photo site and tie-ins to a Twitter account. You can try and sort through it all starting here (since posts have been pulled, it's hard to follow.) As of right now, the photos have been yanked from the site and HMX hasn't come out and said, "These are songs fake and this isn't the final list," so of course that fuels the frenzy. I have no idea if it's real or not...it could just be ultimate set list material. But I thought it would make for fun speculation nonetheless. I'll hide the list in case you think it's spoiler-worthy. Spoiler:

Spoiler:
1,4,9,10 are pure love if it happens, especially #1 and #10. Man, I don't even care for the game, I just want the music pack. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
There is obviously speculation that the list is fake. Things that point to it being a fake list are:
1) Screenshots in RB3 instead of in Blitz. It's really really easy to import customs into RB3 (before the last patch). 2) There were several unreleased songs within those screenshots. These could be customs, or they could be unreleased songs (if he did indeed get this information off of PartnerNet, MS's internal "Live"). 3) In one of the screenshots, it showed songs from "The Sounds", and had both Living in America (from RB3), and Song with a Mission (RB1 DLC). However, these were both sorted as "The Sounds" when Song with a Mission should be sorted as "As Made Famous by The Sounds". I have no idea if this list is fake or not, but I'd say it could go either way. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Assuming that list is correct, it gives me one right from our "contest"! I haven't been keeping track, has any one else gotten a guess right so far?
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
There was one correct already, I believe. Too lazy to open it.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I hit with "Shout" by Tears for Fears.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Before He Cheats... the anthem of irrational women everywhere.
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
My lady likes Before He Cheats as well. Not sure if I'll pick it up, but I'll make a mental note of it.
As for my general thoughts on the pack, I say that it's always good to get music out there that appeals to many types of RB players. It's not for me, but I'm sure there will be a lot of folks out there that will (secretly?) enjoy it. :) |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I will say that this week is better than last week, without even having heard these Carrie Underwood songs before.

It's usually followed by Ceelo's Fuck You.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Plus three drunk cougars who are at the hotel bar after a 3-day Insurance Convention, singing Buckcherry's "Crazy Bitch". At least one of them has never heard the song before...
