They sell it through Amazon now, that's why I mentioned it being out of stock there. Well, I just checked again, and it is back in stock (via Amazon fulfillment), but the price is $108. Didn't it used to be $75?

It was $75 + shipping, which was around $15 I think.

Interesting that RockPedal purchases now all go through Amazon. Guess it was inevitable.

Interesting! I just looked, and got the list of songs in the Pro section. However, it shows "In Library" with "No Part" listed, so they aren't available yet. Here it is:

War Pigs
My Sharona
Buddy Holly
Interstate Love Song
More Than a Feeling
Simple Man
Self Esteem
Take Me Out
The Trooper
Smells Like Teen Spirit
Rock and Roll High School
Bad Moon Rising
Purple Haze

That's a pretty random looking selection of songs...

Hmm, I'm guessing he just has never owned that song, so the 160 is just to buy it. All of them show In Library for me.

If it was $90 total before, and assuming Amazon takes 15% of each sale, then they are still getting $90 per unit sold. I wish I had ordered back when it was $90 total, but at least I have Amazon credit to use.

Yep, that sounds about right. Honestly, at that price you might be better off buying a real pedal and making the modifications yourself. Not sure if there would be a decent amount of savings or not. I think the pedal by itself runs about $75, and then probably another $5 for the sensor and cable.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Hey gang,

Keep the holiday joy going with the Paul McCartney DLC coming out next week! Sir Paul is now featured in the Rock Band library as a solo artist, in Wings and as part of a little know group called The Beatles. Looks like he's making a play to dethrone Dave Grohl as the artist with the most appearances in RB. Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360 (Dec. 28) and Wii and PlayStation 3 system (Jan. 4):

Paul McCartney – “Maybe I’m Amazed”
Paul McCartney & Wings – “Band on the Run”
Paul McCartney & Wings – “Helen Wheels”
Paul McCartney & Wings – “Let Me Roll It” X

Inhabited – “Open My Eyes”

Siouxsie and The Banshees – “Cities in Dust” X

(All tracks are original master recordings)

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation 3 system Jan. 5)

These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks, as well as “Celebrating Band on the Run Pack” on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:

$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song

$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song

$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade

$6.99, £3.49 UK, €5.29 EU (560 Microsoft Points, 700 Wii Points) for Celebrating Band on the Run Pack
Really bummed that now we're getting a studio version of BotR. I'll be passing on it now since they already made me get a Live version thinking that was it - lesson (re)learned.

Will probably get Baby I'm Amazed.

I wish they'd have offered a bigger pack including the studio version of Jet. And Live and Let Die. But I'll grab all of the ones they're offering.

I guess I should realize that for my $2 I'd be getting not just a studio version, but a version with harmonies and keys.

I'm more or less contractually obligated in my household to pick up the Siouxsie track.

Hey Guys:

We’re happy to confirm the news today that the sale of the company is complete. We appreciate all of your support, comments and warm wishes in the preceding few weeks.

Viacom and MTV Networks have been an amazing home for us over the past 4 years. It’s where we launched both Rock Band and Dance Central, worked with The Beatles, Green Day, AC/DC, The Who and thousands of other artists. We want to take a moment to thank everyone in that organization who helped make these awesome games possible.

We’re excited to be returning to our roots as an independent and privately owned studio. As for what it means for you, the DLC schedule marches on for Rock Band, we will continue our support of previously released titles and we’re hard at work on some unannounced projects that we think you’re going to be pumped about.

Thanks for your continued support and stay tuned for more information here on RockBand.com, over @RockBand on Twitter and at http://www.facebook.com/RockBand.

Yours,
Harmonix

I think that it's great that HMX has been sold to themselves. That's the best scenario, IMO.

I wonder if this means there will be a Rock Band 4, or if they will keep RB3 as their "platform" and just focus on DLC.

this is what interests me. On one side, its good they won't have someone like EA or Activision forcing out yearly "Track pack" sequels. But on the other hand, I don't like the idea of a company run by hipster musicians. I just want them to focus on finetuning RB3 to make it a more functional platform, that can have a 2-3 year shelf life. It seems they release a product, and then forget about it moving onto the next thing.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

I'm admittedly ignorant about the legal and music rights issues involved with this, but tell me if this is unreasonable to assume:

That they still have the "rights" to make Rock Band 4, and that all previous DLC will be transferable to RB4. Same applies for Dance Central.

I don't know how I feel about this. Without the clout of the big parent, can they continue to get top-name DLC deals?

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Agreed. However, since they're now essentially owned by themselves, and since Rock Band is an established brand/concept, if they couldn't offer artists a bigger share of the profits from DLC.
