Can you actually delete individual songs or just give them the rating of 1 lighter?

I never did export my Lego Rock Band songs into RB2. I assume that if you do it now, it would work on both RB3 and RB2 for the one time of 800 points, correct? If not, should I export LRB into RB2 before I export RB2 to RB3 so LRB goes with them? Or is it a separate thing entirely?

And the AC/DC track pack...I got it used in a trade and the code was done as I figured it would be. No biggie but I was wondering if the songs can still be exported if you pay some points in if your code has already been used? Same question goes for Green Day RB though I have yet to get it.

You're exporting songs to the hard drive. So if you export Lego rock band, those songs will work in rb1, rb2, and rb3. As for the track packs, there's no way to export them if the code has already been used. You'd need to buy a new copy.

With everyone doing so well at keys I got the keyboard, not as easy as I thought. That's my fault for even suspending the belief for a moment and thinking that it would be easy. I'm going to stick with it though

OH and if you want the challange and achievement for 100 percent pro keys in the easiest way then do INXS I need you tonight, it's 1 key the entire song.

Rb1 tracks only can be deleted individually (and individual DLC of course). I'm pissed Lego is saved as a block and I can't purge my drive of that vomitous Pink song.

Who's throwing a RB party for Halloween? Mine's tomorrow and I've been promoting it pretty heavily around school. It's gonna be fucking awesome!

Pictures of venue / promotion
Spoiler:

This is where we're playing. There are projectors that come down on either side of the podium, and we'll have HDTVs set up as well, so that players don't have to face the screen if they don't want to.

For people that aren't playing, there will be plenty of seats to take a break and watch the action.

I was also able to get some promotion up on the scrolling ticker on our campus. Badass!

I think his question was about the inability to actually delete individual files on the PS3. Has that policy changed? If not, how are you deleting the files in RB3?

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Have a question. I heard somewhere that you can do up to 3 guitars, 3 vocal tracks, drums, and keys at the same time. I tried to do a 3 guitar and 1 vocal yesterday and the system wouldn't let me, we had 3 in. The number 2 spot said hit start to join and whenever we tried to join, be it another guitar, or even the keys it just made an error sound and wouldn't let them join. What do i need to do to get 4 players going?

1 guitar, 1 bass, 1 keys, 1 drummer and 3 vocalists. That's the max you can do. This isn't Guitar Hero.

I don't even care about deleting files. I just want to hide some of them.

I could have sworn it was 3 guitars, either way, with 2 guitars and 1 vocalist in it wouldn't let me join with the keyboard, kept getting the error there too, I was trying to do the bohemian rhapsody achievement thing, but we couldn't get it to let the 4th in.

Dont know anything about the policy or how it works. All I know is through the RB3 menus I am now able to delete an individual Rb1 song.

I'll post pics after the event tomorrow. If you're in Central Florida, the event will be in Orlando. PM me if you're interested in coming and I'll give you more detailed directions.

This goes for anyone that wants to come. These will be pizza and a costume contest with prizes as well! We're going all out on this thing!

Thanks for the answer. Shame about track packs. Seems it would be smart to at least off a $5 or so export fee for those. I know they want to see them new but at least it would be a way to capture some cost from the used market.

In other news, I tried my first RBN songs and was really impressed. I guess I just had the GH upload thing in my head and how terrible it was. I recently discovered a group called Band Of Horses and noticed they have 4 songs on the RBN. I was worried about the charting and how it would be quality or fun wise but my worries were washed away. All the tracks were well done and enjoyable to play. No more worries.

I saw a few big names songs while perusing the RBN and was surprised they did not get normal releases such as Creed's "Higher", Drowning Pool's "Bodies" and several others. Any reason for that? Just curious.

Either the RBN authors got to them first, or they offered them a better deal than what MTV/HMX was gonna give them. It's as simple as that.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

I've spent a little more time on the keyboards and I have to say that my lessons as a kid & young teenager did not translate at all to playing on this game. It's still fun but also frustratingly hard.

I consistently want to use two hands and I think it will be near impossible for me to play with just one hand. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal but it makes activating overdrive a sure missed note. I don't see how anybody could actually put on the strap and play this game standing up like the guitars.

And it is fucking RETARDED that it does the key section shift in the middle of songs. I understand why it is there when you have other instruments going at the same time for space reasons but they should at least give you the option to have the entire keyboard up on screen if you are playing solo. I am really surprised and disappointed they didn't give this option.

While fun on keyboards, I don't see myself just blindly playing thru songs on Hard or Expert the first time like I can on guitar. Granted I felt the same way when I first bought GHII way back when and never expected to surpass Easy. So maybe it will come but it seems it will take a lot of time.

So when is the Squire coming out? Is it worth trying the Mustang or is it better just to wait for the Squire?

Any for those looking for a keyboard stand, I highly recommend going to BB and picking up the DJ Hero Renegade case/stand. It is $30 (about as much as I paid for DJ Hero) but it is quite sturdy and the keyboard fits on top perfectly. Seems like a better stand for the keyboard than the other one that I was considering: http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Keyb...8476150&sr=1-1

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

I ordered the Mustang after playing with it over at Shagrath's house for like 7-8 songs. Having never played a guitar before, it seemed like a good introduction, and I'll follow it up with the Squier when that is released.

I mentioned this earlier, but you can order it from Provantage for $125 shipped directly from Madcatz, should ship in a week or so. I figure I should be able to resell it for at least $75 or so once the Squier comes out, but that won't be for a while... six months perhaps?

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

These are my thoughts in regards to the RB2 export:
The loss of the AC/DC track is painless since we still have the same song (albeit a live version, with a singer I actually prefer) from the AC/DC track pack....
The loss of the Metallica track, much like with RB1, is also no biggie since you can pick up GH: Metallica for peanuts now (if you haven't already) and still play it...
The loss of the Journey song stinks, BUT now with keyboards in RB3, maybe they'll bring it back in upgraded form as DLC (hope springs eternal)....
The loss of the Soundgarden songs, for a huge fan like me, is very disappointing, but once GH:WoR hits the clearance bins (any day now), I'll just pick it up and get access to these two songs again, plus all of their other hits with the Telephantasm DLC.....
HOWEVER, the loss of "Give It Away" is absolutely inexcusable IMO.....and makes me totally question EVER buying a "full album download" from them again if they dare put one of the tracks from it on disc....at least with Nirvana's "Nevermind" it was never sold as a full album download (so the missing couple of tracks were expected)....but now we are stuck with an incomplete Blood Sugar Sex Magik that USED to be a full album!

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

I just played "Fly Like An Eagle" on Expert Guitar (non-pro). Is it just me, or is that song way harder than Tier 0?

Edit: Ok, just to provide some contrast, I just 5-starred "Power of Love" on Expert (rated Tier 5, sight-reading) without ever dropping into the red. I dropped into the red a couple times on "Eagle" and only got 3 stars. Bizarre.

I think the worst guitar tiering award belongs to Antibodies. It took me about five tries to finally five star it on expert and it is tier 2. I five starred every other song in the game after 1 or 2 tries.

Thank You! I put this in a setlist to knock out a few "5 star expert" goals and I think I only got 4 stars. It should be at least a 3 on guitar difficulty. I've noticed a few other poorly rated songs, but this has been the worst so far. I'm thinking it has to actually be a mistake.
