I haven't been into a fighting game since soul caliber for dreamcast. I traded in la noire and portal 2 and decided to give this a shot since I loved mk1 and 2 back in the day.

Man I'm having a blast with it. Played some online with my brother and it totally took me back to being in the arcade. We had a really great time with it. Amazing how many of the moves I still remembered.

Same here, traded in L.A. Noire just today and I haven't stopped playing Mortal Kombat all night....the story mode is a little goofy but it's actually entertaining so far (as opposed to the DC universe one that was just horribly bad).

The fighting is fan-freakin-tastic and I love how they balanced the x-ray moves meaning they do somewhat hand it to you but you still have to work a little to pull them off.

I actually really dig the fatalities this time around too.

Can't wait to play again soon.

Dumb question but how do you access the different player costumes after you buy them in the Krypt?

Select I think, haven't played it in awhile.

Press start on the character you are going to select and it lets you cycle through the available costumes.

I picked this up the other day out of sheer boredom (I bought LA Noire a few weeks ago but the game isn't geling for me) and for $40 I'm really enjoying it. I haven't been a big fan of fighters in a long time but something about this game is just fun to play, also the poor acting and overlong story sequences in Story are actually really enjoyable in a super campy, 1980s movie sort of way. I also like how the gameplay is setup in the mode.

So far, pretty happy with it, and imo it's the best Mortal Kombat in well over a decade.

So I finally was able to redeem my Reptile code from Amazon. I figured out how to select the costume, but the fatality is not in the move list. Do I have to unlock the fatality elsewhere or do i need to magically know how to perform it and the code just gives me the privilege of being able to do it?

It doesn't need to be unlocked, but it won't show up on your moves list until you actually do it.
I can check how to do it and post it here in a little while if you still need to know how to do it.

Thanks Maxflier, that worked. I tried doing sub-zero's classic fatality and it did not work. Does that mean you have to have the unlock code in order to get the costume and extra fatality?

Also do you have to do anything special anymore to do the babalities? In the older games you had to win the last round with kicks only.

You do have to have the code to be able to do Sub Zero's classic fatality.
I'm not positive about the babality thing, but I don't think you have to do anything special like that.

I believe it's now that you can't use block in the winning round.

No restrictions like that. So long as you know the input the babality will work.

Question: So this season pass that's advertised for download for 1200 ms points let's you download all the dlc for free, or you still have to pay for the dlc just at a discount?

The season pass is like pre-paying for it all; at a discount.

This appears to possibly be a new trend...Rockstar has done the same thing with L.A. Noire (I think they're the first).

It really does appear that the gamer makes out as well but I can see early down the road if this continues to take off; more and more companies just adding stupid thing like different outfits and very small perks that aren't worth it but so far both MK & LA Noire are doing it right.

Is this just an X-Box Live exclusive offer? I didn't see it on the PSN store although they do have the Pass for L.A. Noire.

I have been sitting on the fence whether to purchase the Classic skins and Skarlet but with the pass, I'll just may do it since there are 3 more additional fighters coming.

I'm bought the klassic skins and the Pass. Skarlet comes with Cyrax and Sektor klassics. I thin the others with have unreleased klassic skins or I hope so since I bought that other pack. I've barely played Skarlet, but I'm loving her more than a lot of the in game characters.
