Mortal Kombat - 2011

Re: Mortal Kombat - 2011
This appears to possibly be a new trend...Rockstar has done the same thing with L.A. Noire (I think they're the first).
It really does appear that the gamer makes out as well but I can see early down the road if this continues to take off; more and more companies just adding stupid thing like different outfits and very small perks that aren't worth it but so far both MK & LA Noire are doing it right.

Also, there's no guarantee these passes will cover anything more than what they're announced to cover.

Re: Mortal Kombat - 2011
Wondering if anyone can help me? I started downloading Skarlet and my Xbox froze up in the middle which forced me to turn it off. Then I went back and redownloaded her character. Now on the character grid, she is in 2 spots, 1 of which isn't selectable. I deleted the only download of her character on the XBox and both spaces cleared, but when I redownloaded again, she was back in 2 spots. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the 2nd unusable avatar for her? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Is this where there are 2, 1 each at the bottom left and right? If so, I believe that's so that Player 1 and Player 2 have their own DLC character tile, with the one you can't access being for player 2.

Yeah, that's correct, but is really weird. So are all the DLC characters going to have 2 selections. I really don't like that. Both players should be able to select from the same character tile.

Well, Ed Boon was right when he said the 4th DLC character would be "a big surprise". I bet no one would have even guessed Freddy.
I would love that, but I believe Freddy is the last DLC character. I think there is only going to be four.

There are rumors that Jason and Freddy will be released as DLC. I really don't want to get my hopes up but that may possibly be the coolest DLC ever created.

Re: Mortal Kombat - 2011
I bought the first extra costume/fatality pack but have put off on buying the extra characters as PS3 does not have the season pass option. I hate to spend $5 per extra character, it seems a bit excessive. Does anyone know if/when they might bundle all the DLC together at a discount?

For $15 you get Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain and (now) Freddy.
The code that came with your copy of MK9, makes it so you can play Online.
I know WB owns the rights to NOES, which made sense why MK9 has him.

Nope. The Season Pass is sort of a DLC-Bundle/Deal that NetherRealms have on XBL Marketplace.

Who owns the rights to the Friday the 13th franchise now?

Apparently Paramount co-owns the Friday the 13th franchise with New Line Cinema. I don't think they'd protest having Jason in the game, though, and since New Line merged with Warner Bros in '08 (though realistically, New Line has been a part of Time Warner since the mid-90s) they can pull it off.

It's lame that PSN didn't get the Season Pass. I'm guessing this is XBOX's exclusive to counter Kratos on the PS3.
Hopefully there's a bundle down the road.

I was thinking about getting the season pass because I thought to myself, "with Freddy I have an excuse to spend the extra 15 bucks to get the extra characters and all the klassic skins". I was in for a rude awakening when I went on xbox live and saw that the season pass was 20 bucks and didn't include the classic skins, that's another 5 bucks! 25 dollars seems excessive. Debating, debating.

The DLC Characters are $5 a piece separately, so those who got the Season Pass are essentially getting Freddy for free. The first free Compatibility Pack has Klassic Skins for Cyrax and Sektor.

That's awesome. I hope Jason comes next as well. The only thing that sucks is that it's the new Freddy but meh I guess I'll take it.

I was disappointed too that we didn't get the Season Pass and as much as I like to get Freddy (Kenshi, Skarlet and Rain), I'll wait until there's a bundle or sale hopefully on PSN+

No kidding. As far as Jackie Earle Haley is concerned I think I would have rather had Rorschach instead. That would have been all kinds of bad ass.
