Mortal Kombat - 2011

Not necessarily. Every game is slightly different. Many XBLA-type games put you in a lobby or at least let you see who you're up against before you start up. It's as simple as finding the right match. Could be a list of possible "custom" matches with different settings and pings you can use to determine your buddy from the herd.
Once the game is out, we'll know more on how to boost a flawless ranked. It won't be up to chance or fate.

I'm going to say they did NOT lower the difficulty on part 2. I had it on very easy and I could barely beat the first guy and I'm not a slouch at mk games.

Ouch, I always considered myself decent on the 2nd one as far as VS computer goes. Most MK games always let me sail through the first three or four matches before I had to buckle down.

I haven't been able to find a another copy of this game to borrow so I picked up a used copy so I could install it to my HD. My original disk has the death ring on it but it will load to the title screen just fine. I plan to return the game back to Gamestop within the week for full refund. Something I thought was interesting was Gamestop provided a free Kombat Pass code which is what allows online play. I didn't need the code as I had already used one that came with my original game. But I remember when thus game came out that they would be charging for this code for games sold in the used market, $10 I think. Is this free code unique to Gamestop or are other used market stores doing this as well?

I dont see much talk here for the Komplete Edition but I got it for $20 and was wondering, the back says go retro with 15 klassic skins. What does that mean? I thought it mean different outfits or something. How do I chose them?

It is different outfits. I can't remember how you change them, maybe the back button when you are selecting your character?

I just finished story mode not to long ago. Had to turn the game down to beginner for the last battle. Right now I'm working my way up the tower.

Re: Mortal Kombat - 2011
My wife saw some of the story and asked, since it was so ridiculous and silly, if wouldn't just be better to jump from fight to fight. I think the small amount of context adds to the fights, even if the overall story wasn't that good, but I can't really explain it much more than that.
I'm also working on the challenge tower. I'm only on challenge 50. A couple were difficult, but nothing too bad, hardest was fighting Mileena and not being able to block since she moves so fast. I have a feeling the later challenges are going to be nearly impossible.
Also, the unlockable extras are needlessly tedious to unlock. It looks like something they spent some time on that could have just been a list.

I just busted my thumb trying to beat Shao Khan and still lost. I did win a few rounds but never in the same match. So, silly question, how do I change the difficulty? Is it in main menu settings?
