The post on the PSBlog has been updated:

There is even more good news for PS3 owners: starting on Monday you’ll be able to instantly watch some movies and TV shows in <del>1080i</del> 1080p high definition, listen to Dolby 5.1 channel surround sound, and view an increasing portion of our content library with subtitles.

Q: I thought I read that this disc-less netflix was only coming to Plus subscribers. From the article, it doesn’t mention that. Is it for everyone who has a PS3? And is it free?

A: It’s for everyone.

Great news. No Disc, improved app, 1080p and 5.1 possibilities for some titles

Woohoo! I just got selected to do a Playstation Move Singstar Dance party.

Sad that one of the rules is no alcohol because I think people would need that to get their karaoke on.

Yeah. It's weird. It just so happens to be the night we're throwing that bourbon party in the living room.

PS Does bourbon go well with karaoke? Maybe we should get some Everclear.

I can't tell if you can't tell that I was kidding. I can't let the people of the interwebs believe that I drink Everclear. That would sully my reputation.

I'm going to probably have to send my 120GB Slim in soon. :(

The power supply has started making a buzz/hum noise when its on and off (louder when its on), and my 1 year warranty is about up. For anyone thats sent in a Slim recently how is the process? I assume I'll get a refurb back instead of my system. Hopefully these are in good shape. Although my Slim is nearly a year old it looks brand new, so I'm worried I'll get a system back with some cosmetic problems (dirt/scratches/dents).

I sent mine in recently (hard drive had corrupted twice for seemingly no apparent reason). I posted about it earlier in this thread. It didn't take too long, shipping was a bit of a pain though time wise since it was going to El Paso, TX and they only pay for Ground FedEx shipping so it took a while. I ended up getting my same unit back (had to double check the serial number to be sure) but I swear they replaced the BD drive too because it's quieter than it was before (not that it was that loud before but it's even quieter now). Thus far no problems with it so I think I'm good to go.

Looks like the discless Netflix is already live. There's a Netflix entry in the Video menu. Downloading the software now (19MB). Thankfully, it doesn't seem to require a full system update.

Edit: OK, nevermind. Got the software installed and when I tried to run it, it says Netflix is not available in my area.

Weird, I don't see any Netflix entry in the Video menu or anywhere in the store. Though like you said, it doesn't work yet so not missing out on anything.

I hate the Xbox controller and it is one reason I won't buy that video game console.

Oh no,I had a whole new level of respect for you. Now that you DON'T drink Everclear, I might have to change my stance.

Yeah, I download the Netflix this morning. I liked the new interface which make picking a titles easier. Very few titles have subtitles and they are those big blocky yellow subtitles which I hated. Much prefer smaller white subtitles but at least Netflix got subtitles to work on console.

Interface is much faster. And no more damn disc. I can play Oblivion without having to keep switching and getting up. Doubtless better for the BD drive in the machine as well.

Just tried the netflix app and wow it's fast. I was streaming in hd in less than 2 seconds.

Can you stream Netflix from more than 1 console at the same time (using a single account)? For example, PS3 streaming in the living room, 360 in the basement?

There's a cool 'video browse' feature now. Gives you previews of everything.
