Blargh......
So you only have 5 new releases to play? What is wrong with you?

Re: Borderlands

Hearing about Zombie Island made me switch from the God of War Collection to Borderlands for a bit, and that bit turned into a long time!

Hit me up for co-op if you see me on, and if you can spare any inventory stuff...

Re: Borderlands

Goods news for us Borderlanders....in the latest issue of Gameinformer #200....they list the Top 200 Games of All Time....Borderlands came in at #134 despite one month old.

Also in the same issue they have two scores...9.25 & 9.5....It's a one page write-up but the review is pretty darn positive.

It's great that it is getting good reviews but I really didn't need them to get into this game. Hopefully we'll get some more expansion packs as well as a sequel that continues the story of the vault and introduces more parts of Pandora as well as new characters and playable characters.

Re: Borderlands

I borrowed this from a friend and I'm playing it through co-op with my son. I can't believe how good this game is. It feels like something Valve would make (Gearbox does have some association in the past) and I love it. The most fun I have had playing a FPS game in a long time.

Re: Borderlands

Well me and my co-op buddy played a good part of Zombieland last night and I must say I was pretty impressed. I wouldn't call it a expansion pack but more like an Expanded World. Nothing like the normal add-ons by any means and well worth every penny plus some.

The DEVS really did an outstanding job painting something different yet keeping close to the Borderland World theme. Despite zombies without guns they are by no means pushovers. But it's the atmosphere and overall look that's so appealing you just want to take tour and look around.

On a side note just be sure not to get in with a host that's way ahead Level wise. I died more in more night than in the rest of Borderlands altogether. But we (actually he) did collect all the "Brain Missions.

Re: Borderlands

This expansion is insane, and I'm loving it. I had forgotten how intense the game can be when you get mobbed by dozens of enemies at once. And no, the zombies are most definitely not pushovers. I've had so much action going on in a few parts that there was a noticeable framerate drop on the screen, something I don't recall ever seeing while playing through the main game.

Re: Borderlands

Thanks for everyone's information here. I'm going to be buying the expansion based on people's recommendations here. always worried about that. i'm "only" level 26, but loving the game so far, plus i found my first "hellfire" yesterday! even though its only a level 25 weapon, its still awesome. that and my blast hammer make for a great mid level combo. now to hope i get a new pair when i get to higher levels

thanks again!

Re: Borderlands

And one more thing especially with collecting the "Brains".....you need a good pistol with sight, sniper or any other gun with a decent sight period. You really can't use you Special Powers either since to get the "Brains" you have to have critical hits and head shots. There are three different ones...(25), (100) and (250)....yep, that's correct, 250 Freaking Brains!!!

shotgun up close and in head is always a critical.

Re: Borderlands

The Braaaaaaains mission has to be the most tedious mission in the entire game. I got the Platinum trophy today and this particular mission is holding me back from 100%. I'm on the collect 250 brains part and I'm not looking forward to doing it as collecting 100 brains by myself took about an hour.

There are actually 5 different ones - 10, 25, 50, 100, and 250, for a total of 435 brains collected. If you find the brains mission and start working on it early in the DLC, you'll have no problem. I was halfway through the DLC missions when I found it, and I had more than enough to complete the collection requirement by the time I was finished. Otherwise, I can definitely see it being insanely tedious.

Also note: brains are available to pick up before you find the actual mission(s) for it, but those will NOT count toward the collection total, so don't waste your time.

Care to spoil where the mission can be found? I swear I've probably picked up like 100 or so already. Damn them!

Re: Borderlands

I know! I found and started the Brains missions after I had already complete every single damn mission in the new DLC. Now I'm just running around like a mad man trying to get these stupid brains when I had already picked up at least a couple hundred of them during my playthrough. and the worst part is that if you don't wander into that part of the map you will not even know that there is the brain mission to do. The only reason I knew I had to do it is because it is the last trophy I need for the game.

Re: Borderlands

I cannot say this is true or not but to help getting more "Brains" go thru with at least another or two as that also mayincrease the number of enemies hence more brains.

We played again going for a few other missions that didn't require head shots and a bit much easier and fun. Mark had the Siren using Phase Walk and lighting them up and I was using the Hunter with a Sniper x4 Fire from behind. High damage Bouncing Betties w/Fire grenades do wonders. We went thru Zombie Old haven and that place is no joke. (Rescue Mission)

I hope that I helped you today. You gotta get a headset though so you can communicate. Using the message option is painful.

Re: Borderlands

lol yeah it is. When I logged on later the quest was gone and I couldn't find him again

That was short, but fun as hell. Only took me 2 hours. If they are all this quality then I will pay 10 for them for only 2 hours honestly.

You have to go to that house in the very bottomw southwest corner of the Hollow's map. It isn't marked on the map until you go there. Also, you should have the missions in your list so you have to make the Brains mission the active one for the marker to show up.

Did you try going back down there to see if you can meet that guy again and get the quest again? Maybe your system didn't save your data before you got off of the game yesterday. I sure hope that is the case as I would hate for you to miss out on that one trophy.
