Hey Guys
I haven't played in awhile and a friend asked if I were getting the new DLC? I've still not reached "50" with my two top characters, Hunter at 48 and the Siren at 46. Is this new one geared for those that's already maxed at Level 50 or can those in the mid 40's jump in?
I was trying to read the description and it wasn't clear as to what Level of character you should have before jumping in. At Teamxbox their cover story on this said it's twice the size of Dr. Ned and close to 44 side missions. i just didn't want to get it if I was going to have my ass shot off beore firing a shot.

Well tonight I'm taking a break and trying the Gen. Knoxx mission with another friend. I'm at Level 47 and he's around Level 36. Any tips for starting out? I haven't played Boarderlands in about 2-3 weeks but this new DLC might bring me back a bit more.

I don't want to ruin any of the surprises you may find while loot hunting, but I will say be prepared to pay 8 million if you want all the achievements this time out and that 8 mil gets you nothing more than the achievement so you can quit out to the dashboard if you want to keep the money and not save.
BTW, there is also a level 61 enemy I found hidden in the main town on the first playthrough that kind of cracked me up. You have to do some work to find him so don't worry about running into him by accident. I was quite surprised when I discovered him and he killed me instantly. If you can get away from him though you can snipe him and get 6k experience if you are level 50. Nasty little easter egg for them to hide in the level.

I decided to stop weapon farming this morning to start Knoxx. I tried my local solo-co-op. At this point my Silver Account Soldier is a level 43. So combined I started with a lvl. 50 and a lvl. 43. I got my ass handed to me... multiple times. The flying drones destroyed me.
What's hysterical is that I had no idea how much money I had OVER 10mil. Every time I died about 4 times) I lost about 2.5mil and I bought 3-4 items worth about 8mil and I still haven't gone under 10mil.
Also the game glitched on me after finally applying the update and jumping into Knoxx. Achievements started popping up left and right for my silver account character. It gave me all of the Zombie Island achievements, one after another. Weird, but kinda cool seeing them all pop in succession like that.

I'm doing my first play through right now and it's amazing how much a difference one level can make. I went into Sledge's safe house at lvl. 15, it's listed as a lvl 14 mission, and got my ass handed to me. So I wandered around outside and leveled up to 16 and went back and only died once, and that was to the Roid Rage Psycho at the end.

Re: Borderlands
Same as darkide, but I was using a level 39 Hunter! So I died a couple of times and then just lured him outside and just sniped him. I almost emptied a 550 damage sniper with him. And yeah, he was level 61.
Other than that, all my enemies have been between 34 and 37 or something like that. So it has been perfectly playable for me with my level 39 Hunter.
Oh and I started the game from a playthrough 1. I don't know if that makes any difference, the playthrough 2 is not too advanced in the story.

This was the first guy I ran into in the DLC (Playthrough 1) and he killed me repeatedly. I couldn't get him out of the room and could see him in the room from the bridge but nothing would hit him, I figured he was too far away. Did you snipe him while he was in the room or did you lure him out?
Beat the main part of the DLC tonight and really loved it. The Medal of Duty quest was tough with level 38 enemies when we were 51 so I can only image what a bitch the second playthrough will be. BTW, Crawermax is level 64 even on the first playthrough. So that sucks. I will have to grind through the 2nd playthrough of Knoxx now to get myself leveled to 61 and I'm betting that takes awhile.
From what I have read Siren is really the best way to beat him. If you don't have that you need 4 people and some luck. He does have weak points and apparently shock damage works best, but you also have to deal with all the level 61 worms he tosses and they have varied weaknesses. This boss has turned off a lot of people, but I have gotten all the achievements on the game so far even the awful Moxxie ones, so hopefully I can get to 61 and find a group of 4 that can tackle him.

Re: Borderlands
Something seems to be wrong with the PS3 version...maybe from the patch (???).
Chew and I were playing Ned yesterday, and the game got really framey. It's always had a hiccup here or there, maybe a slow texture, but it was pretty bad. Then I played some splitscreen with my son last night, just in the regular game, and the exact same thing happened.
Hope I'm wrong. Anybody else seen this?

Actually, I've had some choppiness since the update myself on the 360. Only in split screen though.

Re: Borderlands
A couple of times, it got pretty much unplayable. I'm thinking about deleting the game data off my HD and reloading it and the patch back-to-back.

Re: Borderlands
Two of us teamed up last night, his Level 41 Soldier and my Level 39 Siren and not bad except I died more in one night than I probably died in most of my first overall playthru. The "highway" was just brutal as our car was taken down in no time and when we re-spawn we wer right in the open, no cover and flanked from two sides. Then there were two or three jumps we failed and died. Throw in a couple of the "Land Mines" that tagged us. Just totally caught off guard. Foot enemies didn't bother us one bit.
The last mission we did took way to long and it has to be a glitch. We had the "Take out the 10 Bandit Patrols". We couldn't buy one if we wanted. After we tagged the 4th we drove around all over and nothing. Then we started finding them....but they were still and against a rock formation. We just blast away and they wouldn't move. Then drive around same thing later on....off to the side in some cove or side of a rock just sitting there taking it. We wasted a whole hour on this. When we finished and heading back to turn it in we fell off the highway back down in the sand area and guess what....we came across five in less than 10 minutes.

Re: Borderlands
I reinstalled the game and the patch, but not the DLC. Everything seems to run fine now. Downloading the DLC to see if that makes a difference.
Edit: It seems better. Odd.

Started up the Knoxx DLC with my 48 Soldier, 2nd playthrough. I got my ass handed to me by the red flipping ninja-chicks, multiple times. I think I'll go back to the regular game and complete some more of the missions for a while.

Wanted to tell Chew...my boy and I popped into the Zombie DLC with some lower level characters and less crazy guns. We got our asses handed to us by the pukers.

Re: Borderlands
It's back to the normal level of choppiness, which is to say that it's "playable" and generally lacking polish...but still tons of fun.

Oh well, I'm sure there will be plenty of getting our asses kicked in Knoxx.

Up for Monday night?

Re: Borderlands
So far it seems to be the normal framerate drops for me playing splitscreen. Not worse than normal though it did bog pretty bad on the arenas in the Knoxx DLC a couple of times when there was heavy fire coming from a dozen or so enemies. I play with the game installed to the HDD, but since I'm playing the DLC I'm not sure if that actually matters.
