No he's not imagining things and I think I know what he's talking about. There are several levels (places) where if you run back to the vending machine and then try and retrace your previous route yes enmies will be there.

Example....Lost Cave...where you have to get the 50 Crystals. A great place to rake in weapons and re-sell. If you collect and run back to sell and then return...well the enemies have respawed.

Re: Borderlands

I prefer shotgun, sniper, and SMG, and they're ranked the highest, but I carry one of every weapon type. I always have ammo for something, and some situations call for different weapons, or sometimes I'm just in the mood to try something else.
Speaking of ammo: that soldier's perk is almost too powerful.

Ah, yeah, although I wasn't really considering that to be respawning. I believe it only happens when you get to the end of an area and have to kill a boss, once you kill a boss it then triggers those respawns. So yeah, I'm wrong, .

Re: Borderlands

IIRc in zombie island zombies will respawn if you clear an area (like the swamp outside of jakob's cove), move to another area (like the beach) and then return to the previous area. this is how i collected my 250 brains for the achievement.

Re: Borderlands

you kill so many zombies...I never even had to try for the brains, and finished the 250 long before I finished the expansion. I ran around for a long time ready to turn that one in.

Re: Borderlands

Just finished the main game and did 95 percent of side quests i think. Wasn't really disappointed by the ending since i didn't expect much of one in the first place. Just a really fun experience. Downloading Zombie Island as we speak

Re: Borderlands

I was not upset with the ending...just...

Spoiler:
I wish there had been some better rewards after killing the last boss. Sucks to get better loot from a random chest than what you get from the last part of the game...random loot be damned, give us some good stuff.

This game is a blast.

Me and a friend have been playing the hell out of split screen.

it definitely is a blast, i have put 50 hours in the game so far and i am having as much fun now as i did at the beginning. I have been playing solo so far, I am kind of apprehensive about going online with everyone using modded weapons. On playthrough 2.5, i think i will give online a try.

Re: Borderlands

Finally got the game!
I did an exchange in Gamestop, Tekken 6, and got Borderlands for $20 (there's a long thread in CAG about it)

Trying to read a few pages back, I basically want to know if it's going to help me or not to get all DLC before I start playing.

I just did the same deal at lunch. Dumped CoD: MW2 and nabbed Assassin's Creed II.

Re: Borderlands

I've tried and tried, but never got the chimera. A friend played online the other day and a guy just gave him one. He is playing on PS3 though so no help for me. Not that he would have given me the gun anyway.

Re: Borderlands

Played a couple of hours last night and I'm already level 7. Do you level up slower later in the game?

I had a lot of fun, of course, this is my kind of game. Feels pretty similar to Fallout with its differences. I kinda wonder if it's easier to like Borderlands after you play Fallout 3 than liking Fallout 3 after your play Borderlands first. I think Fallout may feel slower (maybe even more boring) if you played Borderlands first. In the first 2 hours of Fallout I was still Level 1 and I was still underground!

But, well I think I'll be able to do a better comparison once I complete my first 200 hours with Borderlands.

Yes, gets harder to level up later in game... I loved FALLOUT, still a top 5 game for me, but it had a really good story to it. Borderlands is like Fallout, without the story, but way more killing and better weapons.... I am probably 3hours from beating the game on my first playthrough now, and am level 35 i think, and its been a blast, i have only played Solo as well.

A quick way to level up is play coop with someone several levels up. In your case someone around 15-18 would be good. But just have to be careful and stand back. You'll face enemies at that level as well. The plus though is you'll get leveled up faster, better money and better weapons.

Re: Borderlands

if i equip a class mod with +x to a skill and i don't have the requirements to use that skill (i.e. it is greyed out in my skill set), do i still get the skill?

Also if i am already maxed out at a skill at 5. will it still add to the skill?

when i equip a class mod, i don't see it reflected in my skill tree so it is hard to tell.

I wish they made this more clear, too.

I've read that the +x to skill will stack past level 5, but you do need to have at least one point in the skill for the bonus to work.

Re: Borderlands

That's correct, you have to have at least one point invested to get the bonus.

That hasn't been my experience I don't think. I'm pretty sure I was getting the bonuses in skills I didn't put any of my own points into.
