Wow, decided to watch some hi-res videos of this game....it looks really cool and seems like it plays well - might just pick this one up.

Two of us have been playing the new DLC most of the way and had a friend jump in for the last part. What a difference three people make. Pace is quicker, more action via enemies, more goodies and a just a better experience. I think the key is how everyone has their character "MOD" set. One had his for unlimited ammo and I had mine set for 30% Chance of Elemental while the third used his gun torrent for health regeneration. I cannot imagine with four people.

Re: Borderlands
Yep, up for tonight! You should host since I leveled up to 54 yesterday.
I was pleased to see that "The Descent" is still very much farmable (4 red boxes and a silver)! I got yet another variation of the Volcano Sniper and a slightly more powerful Hellfire (but without the scope, slower rate of fire and a smaller clip, so I still prefer the current one). I also got a class mod for you with both ammo regeneration AND low level health regeneration...or at least I think that was the case.

With level 50 on my SMG skills, +16 SMG ammo regen, and a reload speed like you wouldn't believe, I just go for quantity of bullets hoping something sticks

Nope. Not just 250, that's just the last mission. It's more like:
10
25
50
100
250
I was going for accuracy though to speed things along. It seemed like the repeater produced a brain nearly 100% of the time.

I redid my skill tree this morning. I kind of got sick of the Phoenix wings and I know it was annoying to everyone that played with me to just have this massive fireball running all over the battlefield
Yeah, the brains quests suck. Especially if you don't start them immediately and do it as you play through the rest of the DLC.

This is why I said leave the brains on the ground until you get the mission. I collected something like a billion brains beforehand thinking I could just complete the mission when I showed up with my brains.
FWIW, I preferred the shotgun right to the noggin for all my brains. Even if you miss a little bit, you still the brain.

Man, before the update the weapons crates had some decent stuff at around my level, now after the update, pretty much all the weapons in those same crates are 5 to 10 levels below my character - even the weapon-drops and weapons for sale seem to be weaker weapons than the ones found before the update. What gives?

Re: Borderlands
Are you playing in areas meant for you level? I believe they rebalanced that stuff so you can't go back to somewhere earlier and get level-comparable loot.

For anyone that has yet to complete the Zombie DLC... LEAVE THE BRAINS ON THE GROUND until you get the Brains! mission. They'll stay there until you collect them.

That's a lot of brains!
Chew....yup....7 CST.
If donuts or anybody else wants to join us, feel free. We're both just a smidge above 50 and starting Knoxx.

Re: Borderlands
Yeah, comparable areas coinciding with my level contain lower-leveled loot than before - the earlier areas' loot is even lower. For example, a crate that would have level 15 guns, now has level 10 guns. I understand not wanting people to exploit the game and over-farm guns, but why not leave the crates empty for longer rather than just downgrading everything? Seems like a lazy "fix" for something that was never even a problem to begin with.

At any rate, as I said above, The Descent still works. I was consistently getting level 48-49 guns and the combat gives pretty good XP there as well. 4 red boxes and a silver.
I don't see the problem with farming anyway, especially since the game is coop only. I sort of do it as a "game within the game".
