Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Had fun in our Warhawk game last night despite some of the hiccups. At least I got to take out my server frustrations on flip in the air.
Not to derail, but we had a good game of MW2 after. Would be nice to get a regular one of those going as it is much more fun to play with people you are familiar with then the random online jackass. I actually got a chance to figure out what the hell I was doing for once before getting sniped, knifed or ambushed. Unfortunately, Slider and I are probably the worst silent sniper duo imaginable as we just got owned in our coop missions last night. No more stealth missions until you get a mic
We are almost ready for veteran difficulty though

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Honestly, last night (despite the hosting hiccup at the beginning) was the best Warhawk night I've had so far, really a blast from start to end. I don't think anybody got frustrated (could be wrong), but everything seemed balanced tremendously and I actually got some kills with the Warhawk! I tried team killing Steve with the binoculars, but it didn't work. And I'm not sorry for trying.
And I can't say for certain, but I think there were a few maps where I actually balled more people than Frizby did.
You know how you know you're getting better at Warhawk? You're constantly on Frizby's radar!
I don't remember what map we were on, but it seemed like you kept trying to hunt me down, and it was great stuff. When I was in that missile turret, and I hopped out before your TOW missile blew it up, and you still flew over to gun me down was awesome. I got you back later when you had our flag on the Eucadia map though, so we're even.
I haven't been here long, but last night felt like a record breaking attendance, does anybody have the actual numbers? I noticed some new players, don't know if they were personal friends of someone here, or old DVDTalkers coming back for a return game, but either way it made it much more fun, and one of them showed up on our MW2 match which was great.
On a related note, Modern Warfare 2 was a riot afterward. Digi is awesome at it, which really isn't fair, because he can royally own me in both games now. Nic & R2, I tried to go easy and only use guns I'm not familiar with on you guys because I know you all are new at it. R2, I know it seemed like I was hunting you down, but every round you had the same character render as Digi and I was going no holds barred with him, so I shot before checking the name. Sorry 'bout that, hope it didn't get annoying, you still kicked my ass with that grenade launcher. Once on the Terminal map I ran into a room and you shot me with it. The grenade didn't even blow up, in the kill cam I walked in and the grenade shot out in slow motion and bounced off my head, it killed me instantly.
Nic did an awesome job sniping the Favela and Afghan maps. Hope everybody will be up for doing it again next week or maybe the week after. Perhaps we'll try some team based games.
Digi, Spec-Ops after that was fun again. I went to Best Buy and they didn't have either of the microphones that CG recommended, so I'll probably just order it from Amazon. The covert, silenced-gun games, are not easy without communication so sorry about that. I really liked the Snatch and Grab game, we owned that shit last night.

We hit 13 at one point last night and I'm pretty sure that's the record. Up until a few months ago, chess was the only host and his connection limited us to 8 max. Even though that's the case, I don't think we would've gotten much into double digits during that time anyway. A lot of new people have joined in since flip started hosting.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Last night when I saw that Chess had to host and there was already more than 8 people online (on my friends list alone) playing Warhawk I checked my connection in the Create Game menu. If we're ever in a bind, I can host 16 players.

On that note, I was reading more about the 3rd Person aspect yesterday. It looks like 3rd person is only available on either select maps or select modes. The kicker is that everyone has to play 3rd Person if it's enabled.
If you were to start a MW2 night, I would be interested in joining if we can do an hour or two in 3rd Person. Maybe somebody with the game can research it more?
I get motion sickness pretty bad in 1st Person.

Glad you had fun on Warhawk last night as well. It is very cool that our numbers are still growing on that, especially while it seems like the public servers are dying. I would like to keep this game in the rotation until they shut it down.

r2 and I have done some of the special ops. We did the favela and the sniper at the top of the tower on veteran. The favela one was very hard.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
You don't have to worry about running me bored with certain maps, Digi. I can do it, but we'd end up in the same situation because I think I'm equally as determined and stubborn to beat a mission as you are.
At the same time, I don't mind switching to different missions after a while either. In short, don't worry about me getting annoyed because I'm pretty much down for any of them, I like playing until a mission is completed, but I also appreciate a break and moving on to something different so just keep doin' what you're doin'.
I agree we're ready to try out some Veteran stuff. I've enjoyed all the missions we played so far, and have been replaying some of them on Hardened in solo-play, so revisiting them on a higher difficulty, co-op style would be fun.
And I hate those dogs, too, but not nearly as much as I hate those Juggernauts.

I noticed that and my health dropped almost to nothing, but it was payback for last week so I didn't try and get you back. You should have just pushed me off the building.

Mistressbeef was the person who followed us to MW2 after, she is a girl i work work with...she and her husband (misterbeef) played warhawk a couple months ago with us, but they haven;t been able to make it back on, but last night she was able to get on, and she had fun...she told me she was taking it wasy on me, she must have killed me a dozen times...
No worries, it was fun, and I figure i got enough damage in with the grenedes that I deserved at least half of the knife kills...haha...i need to play some more of that and get my guy some more XP so I can get some better guns...lately I have been playing nightly, so hopefully I will improve...

Last night i decided to fly ontop of one of the rock formations that nic always snipes from and practice my sniping...someone drops down into the base to steal the flag, i snipe a couple people, and then I hear, "who is on top of those rocks?" "is that nic." "yeah, that is him" and I take out one more person and then run jump in my Warhawk and fly away thinking..."haha...nic is gonna take the heat for that" then i talk to him today and he said that he was at the other base doing the same thing, and no one had confused us, they were talking about him...then it wasn;t as funny as it had been...

I was looking for you, and just when I saw your little character up there I pulled up the rocket launcher just in time to see the Warhawk flying off. For like a minute and half before that while I was running around our base all I could hear was the bullets flying past my head. That is a really good map for sniping.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Enjoyed it last night as well even though I stunk it up pretty badly (save for that like 7 or 8 person kill streak i had with the flamethrower on that one city map). I need to learn the maps better too, I was driving a jeep someone(can't remember who) jumped in the gunner spot but i was so lost and going the wrong way they jumped out since I totally had no idea where I was going.

I was just firing randomly into the sky because I was feeling pretty cocky after picking digi off as he was flying through archways. I shed a tear when that tank got blow'd up. It just, like, knew, man.
